Making of this recipe is very simple , quick and easy which involves making of boiled rice then mixing of oil followed by tamarind mix with tamarind juice, papper, talimpu and finally making the pulihora.     My grandfather worked in the Tirumala temple and he used to bring home a lot of prasadam (back in the 90s it was pretty common to bring home a lot of prasadam). I have to say this is the closest to Tirumala Pulihora I ever tasted. Thank you so much for sharing this. Although my parents said, nothing ever matches the "prasadam offered to God", this was pretty close 🙂

    🙏 ఎంత సాంప్రదాయ పద్దతిలో చేసి చూపారు. మొదట్లో వినగానే తిరువారి ప్రసాదం " విస్మయి" వారు ఇలా బయట చేస్తున్నారేంటా అని భాధ వేసింది. కాని మీరు ఎంతో శ్రద్దాభక్తులతో పవిత్రభావంతో చేస్తూ చూపటం, ఆనందం వేసింది. నేనూ ఓ శనివారం శ్రీ వారికి నివేదనకు నేనూ అంతే పవిత్ర భావనతో మడిగా ప్రయిత్నిస్తా. ఓం నమో శ వేంకటేశాయనమహః.

    Fun fact: The reason why this recipe doesn't have mirchi is because mirchi came to India late 16th century. Portuguese brought mirchi to India. This recipe is an ancient one. So it doesn't include mirchi. We Indians used pepper frequently in our recipes before mirchi came to India. I would love to see ancient Indian recipes(especially Telugu recipes) which doesn't include modern vegetables like potato, tomato, cabbage, cauliflower, chillies to see how our ancestors used to cook. I request Vismai food to upload such recipies if possible.

      What is the ration of rice to water you used and which kind of rice. Video says 1.25 to 4.5, is that correct or some mistake, usually we use 1:2 ratio right, won't rice get mushy?

I prepared ur pulihora by seeing dis video same followed by u, seriously it's my first cooking of pulihora in my life, I never tried nor practiced n my hubby loves pulihora in dat.       What is the ration of rice to water you used and which kind of rice. Video says 1.25 to 4.5, is that correct or some mistake, usually we use 1:2 ratio right, won't rice get mushy?

    We must realise that all the ingredients used in swamivaaru's prasada is completely Indian. This is the authentic pulihora. They do not use ANYTHUNG which has been got by the invaders, for example chillies got by Portuguese.

    Very good traditional presentation , as always big fan. The recipe is also great , very few people talk of Agama Shastram . However one small request, I think we should refrain from saying “Nijamaina Tirumala Tirupati Pulihara thaiyyaru “ “ we can say Alaanti padhathi lo Pulihara thaiyyaru “ the Pulihara served at the temple is divine and sorry I dont think we can match the feelings and emotions attached to it. It was painful typing this feedback- . Appreciate your hard work and focus on very nice Telugu accent and style, just love it. ❤

    I tried this recipe with the exact measurements teja sir.But the taste of pepper in pulihora didn't match. At the end ,the taste is kind of bitter
    Any ways , I love trying your recipes sir🙏❤️

      Whenever preparing pulihora, Add small gooseberry size(or less than that, it's according to your taste) jaggery while cooking tamarind so that bitter taste will reduce & gives good taste

      @@padma9025 i tried menthi pulihora too....but it didn't taste like any bitterness.Pepper in this recipe gives that bitterness.
