A look back on what turned out to be a very good year. These are my highlights of 2020 as I entered into my 2nd year living full time in my truck camper. Despite the hand that 2020 dealt, I managed to make the most of it through some incredible adventures. This isn't all of them, but it's "the best of" them. Sit back, relax and escape for 47mins of natures stunning beauty as I travel and hike the western USA. Happy New Year Everyone!

I most often watch TH-cam videos on my iPhone but when your videos pop up in my subscriptions, I jump over to my widescreen tv to enjoy your lovely cinematography. I started my 2013 Sprinter 170 build right before the pandemic hit in March and have loved having this creative quarantine project. Best of all is the six week fall trip I took in my still largely empty van (blowup mattress, Coleman stove, beach cooler and water jug ;) I had the best time traveling from Florida up the east coastal byways of SC and NC (Ocracoke was my favorite spot, hiking around Asheville, then off to the Black Hills of South Dakota before winding all through Colorado for an amazing month of largely solitary wandering in a perfect pandemic rolling bubble. I have the luxury of being comfortably retired (rapidly approaching 70) and so look forward to renting my home here in Naples, Florida and adventuring as far and wide as serendipity leads me. Your videos are certainly an inspiration. Thank you and best wishes for a lovely 2021.

‘Intrepid’ is a word I don’t often use. Catherine, you are intrepid. Exploring such beautiful back country, hiking toward lofty peaks, pressing down the course of a stream, not knowing where the it flows. To dare further afield, looking for flora, fauna, sky, sea, clouds, shadows, sun, slope and shore. Listening for the stirrings of night, and the song of birds who herald the dawn. Adventure, and vistas, and the primal sense of being alone. In silent steps you sojourn... Seeking to find something, within yourself, outside yourself. You inspire me.

In the last six years I’ve been to every place you’ve been this year except for the Wind River Range and Catalina. Took my daughter and sister to Santa Cruz Island instead. Dozens of skeletal remains of red haired giants were found on Catalina Island. Some measuring 12 to 14 feet in height. A fascinating read is Giants on Record by Jim Vieira and Hugh Newman. Dozens of skeletal remains of red haired giants were found on Catalina Island. Some measuring 12 to 14 feet in height. A fascinating read is Giants on Record by Jim Vieira and Hugh Newman. The Smithsonian actively covered up these and many other finds all across America because it did not fit their narrative. Catherine, nice recap. Looking forward to 2021 hiking along with you!
