I bought the Mitch gel tyre dressing, at the same time I got the Mitch NEO light glass coating, put it on last week, rained today, water was flying off the windscreen, super impressed with it.
Thank you Jackson. Great testing. I agree with your conclusions. As for longevity in a tyre dressing.... I apply every 1-2 weeks so that doesn't matter to me. Was a super interesting test however and I'm grateful to you for doing it. Thanks again. 😁👍
Really nice test! 👍. I love using meguiar's hot shine tire spray G12024, after thoroughly cleaning the tire I like to apply a first coat and let the tire absorb the product well overnight, and then apply a second coat. Then pass either a coat of microfiber to have a beautiful dark and matte appearance, or not to touch it and have a semi-gloss satin appearance. (in any case it will always be less shiny than meguiar's endurance gel) because even if the label says "hot shine" it is a satin or even matte product with a touch of microfiber. on the other hand it is a very very hydrophobic product more hydrophobic than the endurance gel, after a good hardening time I find that the product is rather resistant but the endurance gel remains a little more resistant all the same!
Thanks for the recent review. I'm currently using Gyeon Tire (not express). It works great. One dime size on the makeup style brush is plenty to cover a tire. Have you tried this? If so what are your thoughts?
Will the water based products actually stick over such a hydrophobic tire if you used one of these? If they could keep the darkening effect the CarPro or Gyeon would be amazing.
Hey Jackson, if wanting to apply tyre dressing on top of a faded tyre with tyre dressing on it already, do you have to strip it with a tyre cleaner or can you just re apply directly on to it? Would just a scrub of the tyre do so its clean to re apply a trye dressing on?
I will usually top up once and then the next wash I'll strip and reapply. That works well for washing weekly, if the tyres is really dirty best to strip
It depends on your preferences on shiny matte finish and price availability. I liked the Mirch best overall but will use any of them as there was no bad product here which was good

Ohh nice yeah I love that stuff

Thanks Nico, I'll have to try and get some of the Meg's and try it out

I will have to give that a try for sure, def a great idea
Turtle wax acrylic tire shine may be to your liking. Blackens tires with a matte finish. Too matte for my liking tho.
I have been meaning to try it out as it looks great
Super interesting, great test, thank you 👌👌👌
Thanks

Yes carpro perl which I had a tiny bit left of I've used over darkside and it works well.
Definitely a great combo

Excellent question 😊😊😊

Gyeon Tire is much better than Express, also currently prefer it to Darkside as I find it slow to dry.
I'll have to give it a try, and yeah I definitely only use darkside when the car is going to sit overnight as I worry it will sling otherwise
what would you go for carpro dark side or express?
Still can't decide to be fair but have been using the platinum potions the most lately
Which is the best?
