While there is a cult of personaty around Zelensky, and he is a world class communicator, there are succession plans in place here. People will step into new roles and continuity under the rule of law will ensure the prosecution of the war continues unabated. The only "expectation" that means anything beyond giving news organizations talking points to fill up their daily quota of airtime, is the expectation that the collective west will continue (and hopefully INCREASE) their military and other support "for as long as it takes" for Ukraine to:
1) Get ALL of their sovereign territory back
and
2) to then become a member of NATO.
I have zero expectations about the current counteroffensive other than that the Ukrainians will not give up the fight. If complete and comprehensive victory is not achieved this year then it'll be next year...or the year after that - or the year after that.... etc.
