Anne Shirley is one of the most charming characters to have ever been written! I highly recommend dropping everything you currently have planned and reading Anne of Green Gables immediately. You will not regret it!
Anne of Green Gables is one of my absolute favorite books. I adore Anne so much. I bought Empire of Shadows and am looking forward to it. It sounds fun. The Cove sounds exactly like something I would enjoy. I'll have to check it out. I've never heard of Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens and am intrigued. I really loved This is How You Lose the Time War. I was unsure at first, but ended up being completely drawn into it. The writing is beautiful. I've been looking at The Art Thief for a while so I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.
I love "The Once and Future Witches", i can say that consumed me, not the other way around. I loved the writing, and i look at on the shelf and i say to myself - it is different. And again, i had to put some books on my list. I keep thinking that only the retirement is the solution to read all the books i have to read, and the never-ending lists with books. But is fun, and i wouldn't exchange it for nothing. So thank you for another great selection! Have a great week everyone!♥♥♥
Fun! I've never heard anyone talk about Ella Minnow Pea. I read it because it is part of a huuuge book collection I inherited which contains a surprising number of under the radar gems. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it!
Great recs! I have read “Before the coffee get cold”. I thought I was gonna love it but although I like the idea, I probably had my hopes too high! It got repetitive very quickly and it kept on repeating the same things over and over again. I know I’m in the minority here and certainly don’t want to spoil your fun! I also love my ereader. Very practical and useful!
That’s good to know though, I’ll try not to go in with any high expectations 🥰 Nad yes, so far I’m really enjoying the e-reader, super handy to take with me everywhere! ❤️
i love how for so many of these youre like "im not really sure what its about" - we should do this more often!! we dont always need to know 100% what the book is about. omg Saltblood sounds like an INSTA BUY for me, ty for shouting it out! also a heads up - Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens looks cute but it has a loooot of warnings so look at those before reading.
I totally agree with you! I prefer to know very little about a book before I start reading it, sometimes even less than is printed on the back of the book. But I really enjoy listening to podcasters talk about books, so I'm in a no-win situation there! 😆Sometimes I mute the audio for a bit if I'm worried too much will be given away about a book I know I want to read, especially since people occasionally say things like "when the main character is arrested for the crime... that's not a spoiler because it happens on page 10... ". 🤨
Hi Alice I have read The Secret Garden like twice now. I have read Anne Of Green Gables. Both of these are my favorites. SaltBlood sounds really good and so does Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens. I am reading The Underground Library by Jennifer Ryan on my Kindle. This book is so good. I am really enjoying this book. I love reading on my Kindle Tablet. It is so nice to be able to read at night on my Kindle and not have to hold a book at night in bed. Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗🔰❤️
Our Wives Under the Sea is more weird then horror and I say this as someone who doesn't read much horror and gets easily scared. 😂 i definitely want to hear your thoughts on it. Absolutely loved Before the Coffee Gets Cold, i think you will too. You bought some really good ones. Lots of greta picks for late summer/early fall.
I love that your 2 classics both involve little orphan girls! Some great books in your haul, and a couple of new ones for my own TBR. :) Have fun with your ereader! Mine was definitely a commuting game-changer.
It's always exciting to have new books to look forward to! I hope you enjoy every read! I look forward to your reviews, so I can start adding to my list! 😅❤📚
I’m currently reading Saltblood and I really like it! Our Wives Under the Sea is also great, I’m not into horror but I found it eerie and also beautifully written.
So many beautiful books🥰. I’ve made a note of many of these for my wants lists. I adore the Before the coffee gets cold series. I think I’m in the minority opinion, but I find them beautiful and poignant. I do like Japanese translated books too. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all of these books.💕
There’s an edition of The Great Gatsby available in the same style as your copies of The Secret Garden and Anne of Green Gables (Harper Muse Painted Editions) and it’s so so gorgeous, you should add more to your collection! 🌿🎨📚
I've been meaning to pick up The Smoke Hunter since I first heard you talk about it, but still haven't gotten to it. I'd love to know whether you'll recommend reading the original or the new one! Or both 😂
I could have sworn I picked up Before the Coffee Gets Cold because you recommended it. But apparently not. Probably because you read a lot of fiction translated from the Japanese. It seems like a very 'you' book. I really enjoyed it and I'm sure you are going to like it. Also Anne of Green Gables. I read 6 of these books. Nobody ever talks about Ella Minnow Pea, but it is fun. Interested in your reaction to Our Wives Under the Sea. Enjoy your new books!
I just finished reading a different book by M. Finale about a man who lived in the woods of Maine for over 20 years. I also own The Art Thief and can't wait to pick it up. I just get sidetracked by too many other books!
Ooo! I put The Art Thief in my cart right away! I didn't know that Michael Finkel had come out with a new book. I really enjoyed The Stranger in the Woods- did you read that one....? Nice haul, Alice!
Hi Alice! I've actually read "The Once and future witches" a few months ago, it's a challenge for sure it's a little bit slow in the beginning, but it's character driven and the three sisters are very different but connected in a powerful way! Considering that it has all the elements you usually love I think you're gonna like it. The historical element about the witch persecutions it's also interesting It has a different prospective... Heartbraking but beautiful Hope you'll like It, I definitely did
Forgive me for such a silly question, but what color are your eyes? They are beautiful and I can’t tell if they are grey, blue, green, etc. etc. Thanks for all the good recs, I never miss a video!😊
You will really enjoy The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society but I have heard that the Chai Time book is not what it appears to be; its marketed to be cozy. It has harsh moments in it that can crush the reader.

I’m really looking forward to it!! 🥰❤️
I agree. This serie is my childhood book memories
Great haul! Happy reading Alice!😊
What a great assortment of books you have. Several are on my list also. I had to tell you that your shirt is so pretty!
I hope you love Anne of Green Gables! I just recommended it on my channel as one of my favorite classics that I re-read constantly.
I hope so too! 🥰❤️

I hope so too! 🥰🥰
Guernsey is so fab! Same with Secret Garden. You've got some lovely discoveries ahead of you! 💚

Right?? It’s kinda nice to go in half-blind sometimes! 🥰 And thanks for the heads up with Chai Time ❤️

Love to hear it! 😍🥰
I had my eye on the art thief too! I’m interested in your review.

Yay, happy to hear that! And good to know Our Wives is not too scary 😅
Our Wives Under the Sea is such a weird book, that looks at grief as well. I really liked it 😊
That makes me even more excited! 😍

Omg don’t enable me like that 😂😂
Cover Story was one of my top favorite reads of last year! It goes by really fast and is very enjoyable.
Yay, happy to hear that!! 😍

LJ Ross writes a lot of books based in North East England where i live. But i haven't read any, so interested in what you think!
I just finished reading a different book by M. Finale about a man who lived in the woods of Maine for over 20 years. I also own The Art Thief and can't wait to pick it up. I just get sidetracked by too many other books!
I also get sidetracked often 😂🥰
Read Cover Story and really liked it. I think you will too. Don't read much nonfiction but want to find the Feather Thief.
I hope so! 🥰
Ooo! I put The Art Thief in my cart right away! I didn't know that Michael Finkel had come out with a new book. I really enjoyed The Stranger in the Woods- did you read that one....? Nice haul, Alice!
Yes, I have read that, it was quite interesting! 🥰
Epistolary recommendation "The Ides of March" 😊
Aaah yes!! 🥰

Hi! Definitely sounds like I’m going to like it, thank you for sharing! 🥰❤️
Forgive me for such a silly question, but what color are your eyes? They are beautiful and I can’t tell if they are grey, blue, green, etc. etc. Thanks for all the good recs, I never miss a video!😊
Thank you! They’re blue 🥰
You will really enjoy The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society but I have heard that the Chai Time book is not what it appears to be; its marketed to be cozy. It has harsh moments in it that can crush the reader.
I hope so too! Thanks for the heads up about Chai Time, I’ll keep that in mind for when I read it! ❤️
Just a quick FYI “Our wives under the sea” is about a lesbian couple. Not a straight couple 😊
Aaah, I see! 🥰❤️
Supposed to say, " an e-reader, hmmm "...😂😅🤔
