I remember climbing on board "The american Freedom Train" in Raleigh, NC across from the State Fairgrounds, when I was 10 yrs old on a class field trip. I was already a train nut with an N scale and an HO scale layout. That Freedom Train will always be a memory that never fades. Enjoy your day. Brett.
@@CountryBunkersTrains It was quite a thrill for a 10 yr old. It would still be today for this 55 yr old. Thank you for all your videos, keep them coming. The only SP Daylight train I currently have is in N scale. I have the 4449 along with an entire set of cars from Kato. I love the set. One day I intend to get it in O scale. Enjoy your day.
I found solace in your description of the finicky nature of the SP Daylight. I've been fighting numerous problems with 13 different engines on a 4 switch elevated loop with two reversing loops. I've spent endless hours fooling with the Gargraves 054 turnouts and have actually damaged metal tie rods on two engines which collided with the DZ 1000 motor throws. With all the problems I've had with the elevated loop I was thinking the problem was me and my incompetent build and have been thinking about abandoning that loop and maybe the hobby, but I guess these problems happen to everybody and I have to man up and deal better with the maddening, intermittent setbacks which are part of this hobby. Thanks for sharing your good and the bad experiences. You've helped me avoid or solve many problems over the last year since I started watching your channel. Salud!
This is one hell of a model! Thanks for sharing. I have the Kline TMCC version, but now I want this one! Sorry, I could not find your video on the unboxing!
Great layout Zach, all the engines are breathtaking, but the town layout is a work of art, it reminds me of the town of Bedford Falls in "it's a wonderful life " regards, Terry.
Beautiful locomotive Zach, I love the smoke and the whistle - I think the quillable whistle is OK too. Thanks for another great video and hope your other layout is coming along without any hitches.
Awesome sounding locomotive 🚂 as always extraordinary videos 📹 I'm trying to purchase the lionel legacy Santa Fe 3751 steam locomotive 🚂 I've been wanting that engine for years God bless you and your family
Great review of the MTH Premier SP Daylight GS-4 engine, Zach. Even though she's been a somewhat uncooperative, she's quite looker on the rails! Thanks for giving us a great review of this awesome looking loco.
Its funny you talk about the proto 1 daylight commanding the same value used, as their original msrp. I know your a car guy and I am as well and I know 80s and 90s pickup trucks are going for more than their original cost (with inflation) back in the day. Regardless the daylight is a looker for sure. That paint scheme is timeless and I love how she looks under the red upper loop. Those american freedom cars look great being pulled by such a beautiful engine!
Thanks John!! Yea, prices on everything are up for sure! The car market has been getting crazy for years. One of the reasons I’m not as active in it. The days of finding a cheap and fun project seem to have dissipated. Thank you for watching!
Hi zack I have the railking version of this engine and it does have great sound and the mystery squeak you spoke of as well I liked the way you did your thunder and lightning so much that I added the polyfill cloud effect to mine great tips 👍
Nice choo choo. I have the Williams version of the daylight. I usually have it pulling my Milwaukee road passenger cars. The colors actually match pretty close. It’s just that the orange and red stripes are reversed. I will be reviewing it on my channel in about a month.
Probably not to be honest. I’ll enjoy these behind the daylight. They also look good behind the FEC E8’s. Gives a good color contrast. Thanks for watching!
That’s a good deal. I paid just over $800 for my Proto-2 Y6b from Trainz. Unfortunately it’s out for repairs so I’ll probably pay close to MSRP anyways at the end of the day. Nice engine and layout as always! Also: that squeaking may be the ground strips on the trailing truck. My Premier J1 is making the same noise. I was told to use dielectric grease on it. I’ll try it tonight and follow up with whether it works or not.
Thank you! I’ll have to check those grounding tabs out. Could possibly be it. I’m jealous of that Y6b!! Congrats! Hopefully they get it back up and running to you asap. Beautiful engine!
@@CountryBunkersTrains I forgot to update, the dielectric grease worked for the J1, I’d say to put a generous amount on it. Hopefully that can get the squeaking to go away. And yeah hopefully the Y comes back soon, I think it’s in the same boat as your Lionel Challenger, it probably spent its time living on a shelf. I’m hoping to have it back in a week or so and I plan do make a video about it.
Thank you!! It’s built out of MDF 3/4x3/4” trim wood, and bridge side plates from TWTrainworx. Included a little video on it a while ago here if interested- th-cam.com/video/ah6xWznfbqI/w-d-xo.html Thank you for watching!
aHow can I get a hold of the Atlaas US Army/medical passenger cars? Are they sold out for good? That would look good with some green Pennsylvania passenger cars mixed in with my M1a steam engine. Maybe throw a tank car in too.
Unfortunately I have not seen any more sets available anywhere. I’ll keep an eye out. A few places has the expansion car to go with the set, but I haven’t seen any of those either. Believe it was a BTO product, and any extras were ordered by dealers to sell.
Congrats!! If using the DCS remote, believe it’s the #5 key to lower volume (don’t quote me as I don’t have the remote in front of me), or the volume control should be under one of the tender hatches if running conventional.
Decided to skip it since I have this one.. but am going for the new 611 J they just announced! Excited to get that one! I have the old unshrouded J from them. Will be a good match to have I think.
What is this MTH? Why is there such a massive gap between loco and tender? No footplate? Closed cab? I've been on 4449. This is a lot of toy-scale BS to put in a Premier loco.
@CountryBunker's Trains - I'm surprised you said that this train DERAILS on a big curve. The DRIVE WHEELS MUST BE REPLACED with ALL FLANGED WHEELS so that it does NOT DERAIL. Do you think that would resolve this issue?

Awesome video as always Country bunker trains, P.S. nice touch on the bat mobile, Christine and sherriff Coltrane. This train is on my want list...
Thats a really stunning locomotive, sounds and smokes amazing. Passenger cars a nice too. Your lucky to have big enough curves to run it. 😊👍

That layout is starting to pop. Looking great. Keep up they good work
Just realize you have the Psycho house and Amityville house on your background. I love it.
Beautiful train and I love the passenger cars
That’s gotta have one of my favorite whistles of any MTH engine I’ve heard. Can’t beat a GS honestly
Awesome locomotive Zach!!! The paint scheme is the best part!

Nice Loco Zach, have the same one , I think it’s the whistle in a GS .
Your set up looks awesome !
Thanks for sharing.....Enjoyed the video!
She's a beauty Zach......and another great informative show. Thank You
I have a couple questions on your layout......I'll email you soon.
Its elegant and a beast all in one. Love to see one in person. Great engine.

Looking real pretty Zach.
Sorry you’ve had some quirks with this model. The fact that it derails on the wider curve is crazy 😱😂
Sure is a beauty. I've got the Railking Imperial version and it is also a stunner.
Beautiful locomotive I'm a steam guy. FYI super good price for that I would have jumped on it too

Forgot to mention. I love the Hazzard police car in the background. I might have to find one of those. LOL
$800 bucks zach wow what a steal! Congrats buddy
SP Daylight is pretty iconic here in California.
I got to see the American freedom train in 1976 I was lucky enough to get in the cab of 2101.
That had to be a blast!
It was it stopped in eastern Baltimore County. I also was fortunate enough to run n&w 611 in Strasburg PA last summer.
Are you going to get the American Freedom locomotive, since you have some of the passenger cars ?? This daylight is on my most wanted list...

Lots of good shots and closeups. Zac do the traffics signals work in your town?
They did/do. I have to get em hooked back up. Never got em working again after the last “expansion”.

I just got this engine today, need help on lowering the volume cause this train is really loud.

Thanks. This adds creedence to the article I'm writing for "Classic Toy Trains" magazine:
"Steam Engines are Women; Diesels are Men."
LOL, I would definitely agree with that!!
Buonasera, dove è possibile acquistare online questa locomotiva?? Grazie
Hello! This one I bought used off of Trainz.com.
@@CountryBunkersTrains grazie infinite, spero che spediscano anche in Italia 🤣🤣🤣
they are beutiful
Is this a bad locomotive?
Idk if I’d say bad. Temperamental or moody maybe… lol.
800.00 dollars great price my Yb6 cost that price and my Mth Alleghany ps3 Was way over a 1000.00 dollars and my other j1 steamers were 1500.00 and up
My train won’t start. It’s an MTH GS-4 imperial and no headlights or anything.
🤪👍🏼🇧🇷
