Beelink is moving quickly right now. They slapped the i5-1135G7(benchmark topped 10k) and dedicated GPU into a GTI box, in the low 600 range. Plus, you can get one of these SEi8 i3 boxes for less than 300 now.
Good time to shop for a mini-PC.
Totally! I can see MiniPC business blooming again these days.
Very cool video 😎
edit: the end of the video teases the power consumption. Those are important statistics: (i) at idle, (ii) under normal usage, and (iii) at max stress.
You are very right! I usually measure the power consumption in peak moments - when the CPU is stressed at 100%.
Amazing review! I'm planning on buying this but would like to know if this can support 120hz monitors?
Excellent look into this Mini PC, very much appreciated. I bought this about a year ago with same RAM and SSD
(I have the Intel SSDPEKNW512G8), 1st Mini I've ever owned and very pleased. I'm not a gamer but do some 2D & 3D CAD designs in cabinetry and woodworking. Although I've used computers since the mid 80's and mostly self taught, I'm more of a software/ cross compatibility kind of person than hardware. Can you tell what expansion drive you installed in this video? Can I install a smaller SSD for expansion similar to the Kingston 512G?
Yeah, I see no reasons why you can't. Just try ☺️
I didn't expect you to mention so in depth details about the M.2 drive lol....
Looks like a great device! yes it's not the best now to get a Gen8 CPU, but it's still good though I think the price is somewhat higher than I'd want it to be.
Just noticed that your main PC also doesn't use the GPU to the fullest for rendering... it's so sad lol...
It's Premiere Pro... They at least did something to add it. GPU kicks in for rendering effects and graphics. A lot better than what it used to be 2-3 years ago.
@@TechMishka yes sadly that's the case, I don't use much graphics, it's still better then when I had my older GPU but I'd wish it would use it to the fullest. They did though say that there are upcoming improvements in that area
Great review! I've been interested in this particular model for some time, but I have a big doubt about it. In some places they explain that that front USB type-c port is also Thunderbolt 3 compatible, whereas in some other places nobody says anything. Could you tell me if yours is Thunderbolt 3 compatible by chance? That's the kind of port I'd need :-) Благодаря!
Hey Sergio, thank you for the very kind comment. Unfortunately I have no Thunderbolt device to try out with right now, but I have in mind a friend who may be able to help. Would you kindly send me a reminder via email.
Do you think the newer SEI8 with the i5-8279U would play Fortnite without issues? I am looking for a budget PC for the kids for Christmas. Thanks.
Again mini PC, wow that's awesome 😍😍
It is indeed. Lovely design by Beelink. Hope to see something with Intel's Gen 12 soon or later.
Can you use a 55 inch Smart TV as display instead of monitor…Many Mini-pc reviewers forget to mention this important feature. Please respond ASAP..
As long as the TV has HDMI port (which should be the case), then of course.
I think it a good deal but yeah as I need to use mostly my video files and 4k is a slightly problem to handle it not my choise for anything else it seems good... But the upgrading function hmmm... Price wise good challenge for size to bring anywhere performance not bad for a mini pc.. It can be a potential winner with some adjustments
After seeing the new Mac Studio... welll 😎
You should do a collaboration with Arun , it would be amazing 🙌
Lemme go and ask him! 😎
Can you tell about intel nuc 8i3beh it has same processor i3 8109u
The easiest way to make sure about this is to get in touch with the NUC team.
Should have added your review using photo editing and graphic design.
Next time
Is good for coding & video editing?
For coding - yeah. Video editing - 1080p will be fine, but ... 4K will be a struggle.
Thanks for reply
Not bad for a $305 deal...it able to hyper-v, so can't pass that little beast lol
Nice idea!
Well, I'm not too impressed. Rather expensive for a device with a 4 year old CPU so 4K output with HDMI is limited to 24 Hz. The Minisforum TH50 with its Core i5-11320H would be a better option in my opinion.
Thanks for the suggestion, Sven!
Well, you didn't have to wait long...Beelink is dropping prices on SEi8 boxes and hitting mid-$400 with SEi10 i5 chip.
$459? Na man. I just bought mine, which is also not the base model but the higher end model, the 500gb and 16 gb ddr4 ram and it was $380 after taxes
Very good price indeed!
