4. You can see Mary Tudor,Henry's sister because she was Catherine of Aragon's friend until the very end. And Mary's granddaughter Jane Grey,who was imprisoned in the Tower by reason of a try to make her a Queen, and had to be beheaded after Wyatt's rebellion(for Elizabeth Tudor a queen) when Jane's father and brother decided to join the rebels.

Poor Mary Tudor. Her story is heartbreaking. Even when she was queen, she didn’t have the love that she wanted. She deserved better.

Her father was a psychopath and her stepsister was a Great Queen, but killed more people than Mary.
We can’t see those times with the eyes of the present time.

wow wonderful!! I really hope we get a series or movie about her life one day, one that's well done and at least mostly accurate. Her life is really interesting, from her birth as a beloved princess, to when she was declared a bastard, then reinstated, her many broken engagements, her struggles with being separated from her mom and never getting to see her before she died and strained relationship with her father, her struggles with what we assume was probably pcos or endometriosis, and then everything that happened after Henry died. I feel like no one has been able to give it real justice yet and I would love to see one from her perspective.

Mary deserved better. So sad that a bunch of protestant writers ruined her and turned her into "bloody Mary". Some of the 20th century historians (protestants or not) had sympathize with her but it wasn't enough to erase the dark reputation created towards her. All she wanted was love and found Philip, Duke of Bavaria but ended up marrying another Philip who is ambitious and had just probably used her.
My goal in life is to do two things for her:
1. Give her a just reputation and have everyone know the first Queen Regnant of England as a great Queen.
2. To have her body buried beside her mother, as she long requested.
She was a murderer. That is a fact that anyone, even atheists, can acknowledge. She was a victim but she became a villain. She did briefly have a taste of true love with Philip Duke of Bavaria, but her cruel Dad prevented her and perhaps herself. Instead, she accepted worse.

Queen Mary was so much more than what people made her out to be
She is a very controversial character for me. I have not an opinion about her because i didnt read so much, but i think that she is an amazing historical character and a serie or a movie based on her life must be AMAZING. A new serie about her sister is been doing now, (and it's good) but i think that Mary would have her own tribute.

Really think about it: Mary didn’t do anything that her male counterparts hadn’t also done. She executed non-Catholics? Henry executed Catholics. She was stern? Of course she was stern!! Any sign of softness and she’d be out!!

Mary's life was not a happy one.Her beloved mother was banished and forced to live in horrible conditions and was not allowed to see or write to her only daughter,then having to serve Princess Elizabeth (Mary was born a princess and it was so insulting that she had to dress someone who was thought to be supiror,)then finally claiming her thone at 37 and marrying to a man she loved but who did not feel the same and having to deal with the pressure of having a male heir and having to be humiliated after having two false pregnancies and having to feel unsafe and havng to sleep with a knife under her piloow in fear of being murdered.Her life was so sad and unfair.

The number of people that she burned was less than Elizabeth I did but no one called the virgin Queen ‘Bloody Lizzie’. Also, she was the first Queen who established female’s right to rule England. Without Mary, we might not have had Elizabeth I, Mary II, Anne, Victoria, as well as Elizabeth II.

I often wondered why she was not married early in life? That she was not a consort or a queen in her own right of other nations? That question always took me back of why , when I watched the series.
Her “merciful” father feared that she would be used against him or/and he was jealous that she’d married while he felt like young lover with Catherine Howard (clear example - Philip of Bavaria,who didn’t seek a wife after Henry VIII’s refusing to bless that union)…

Many just remember her as 'Bloody Mary,' but this was a young woman who was bastardized by her own father. Forced away from her beloved mother, not allowed to visit her until she's dead. At 17, a royal princess stripped from her birth right, bastardized, made into a servant in Elizabeth's household. Heck, Anne Boleyn even left instruction for the other ladies-in-waiting to slap Mary every time she didn't seem humble enough. But she was said to love her sister from the first day, because she didn't blame her at all for the mistreatments she had to endure. When Elizabeth was bastardized, she actually sympathized with her and up until Edward was 6 yrs old (Elizabeth 9), the siblings were said to have been very close. Then, afterward, they were tutored/educated in a very different environment from Mary therefore they're very different in their religious belief. That's the only thing that divided her from her siblings, the religious belief. Even Edward allowed Mary to practice Catholicism in her household (he wouldn't grant that to other people). But even until her death, Mary wouldn't condemn Elizabeth to her death despite her advisors trying to persuade her, due to 'treason.'
