That fast switch to head track radar for the gun lock on the fighter takeoff was smooth. I’ve got a shit load of hours in various flight sims combined with like 250 in vtol, and I honestly don’t think I would have been smart/fast enough to get everything set up that smooth.
For completely new players, I’d say the difficulty of the desert cobra campaign peaks at mission 4 which if I remember correctly is tanker escort. It teaches you BVR air combat by the trial by fire approach. All missions after it have some combination of A2A A2G or SEAD that the previous missions and the love island campaign should’ve adequately prepared you for.
I actually beat tanker escort pretty quickly! Unfortunately I’m stuck on the next mission. You have to take out some targets and escort a carrier out to sea. I always kill everything and start escorting the carrier andddddd that’s it lol I’ve followed it for 20 min one time and nothing happened 🤷♂️ gonna have to look into more and try it again
If you can’t get voice commands to work, enable windows voice recognition again because it got turned off in a recent update. Windows is ending support for that feature soon so hopefully we get a replacement. Fun video!
I’ll check when I get on tonight but so far so good with the recent update messing with shit. The part in the video when I couldn’t get tower to respond was simply because I clicked off vtol on my desktop 😅 ya gotta not do that lmao thanks for the heads up tho!
2000 fuel is more than enough. When i flew the mission my fuel was at 1200 and i just flew straight to homebase but climed to 25000 feet, when i landend my fuel was at 650
Next time, don’t use your afterburner when trying to conserve fuel, lol. It gives a bit more speed but consumes way way more fuel. If you had dropped to 3/4 throttle and got up high into thinner air you could have made it back easy on that much fuel. Also, the “Bingo fuel” alarm doesn’t necessarily mean you’re super low, it means that’s the point where you have just enough fuel to comfortably get back to base and land.
funfact! Gloom lake (where mission 3 kicks in) is a realife location, next to aera 51! So were attacking.. ALIENS!?? also advice: dont play vtol vr when your high during this mission, your brain might like just.. combust or sum.
I agreeeeeeee, I was just trying to catch up to the tanker jet and the risk of burning more fuel. After the mishap with the refueler, that's when I decided to conserve as much fuel as possible and keep em off!
I HAVEN’T EVEN BEATEN THE SECOND MISSION IN THAT CAMPAIGN YET! Probably mostly because I’m still using my original quest 1 with its drifting right stick.
I feel your pain, beating it easily after one week trying didn't felt that good. But I love it
When you request taxi try saying “request takeoff” and not taxi

@@nettyrr bruh I don’t know why that didn’t click 👽 my grandpa is obsessed with aliens and Area 51. He had whole ass maps in the basement lmao
The real location is Groom Lake. Gloom lake is a joking reference to it.

No reason to use afterburners outside combat because it uses too much fuel
