I own Alcazar 2.0 Petrol (Manual Transmission) and I must admit that its the best decision, I spent 6 months looking at all the available cars and found this one suitable reasons are 1. Milege - Petrol Provide Sufficient power and Ideal Milege (14-15 in City and 15-17 in Highway) if you drive sensibaly then it goes up, Its just not depenend on machine, it depends upon your driving skills 2. Practicality of FWD: I was thinking what shall i do with AWD/4wd (Scorpio-n/Mahindra Thar offers 4*4) when 99% of the time i am driving in city or areas where there is a road, Only 1% of that once in a lifetime you visit the Terrains/Himalayas so the AWD/4wd feature might add up unnecessary maintenance cost. I see my friends who have AWD/4WD they never use it at all . 3. Road Presence - Honestly Every 90's kid'ss heart beats for Old Tata Safari which had that macho look but current safari (Earlier name Gravita not even true safari) due to advanced technology compromised in looks when compared to the old tata safari hence there was no point in going for it, so i choose Alcazar whose road presence is good but not like other macho cars like Mahindra/ Tata 4. Technology - Trust me Hyundai alcazar has much needed features for driving in cities as 360 degree camera, parking sensors works like a magic, It give you super confidence that you can drive and park in anywhere without a hazzle (This is seriously missing in Scorpio/Safari) 5. Power - What are going to do with power/high torque when you are stuck in traffic all the time? Trust me Alcazar diesel/petrol serves the purpose of driving on any terrain which has a road. Its never-underpowered tuning is perfect !! 6. Maintainance: Alcazar done with 12000km and you will find there service is really good compared to Tata/Scoripo , You will find Hyundai service centers in every place 7: 3rd row/Boot space: Take up any car 3rd row and bootspace are indirectly proportional to each other, If you buy a good 3rd row seat car you will compromise in the boot and if you buy a good boot space car you will compromise in the 3rd row. I choose alcazar because it's usually rare that all seats are fulled all time and hence I choose this over others. 8: Price: I have a top model signature and the on-road price of this car is 3-4 lakh lesser compared to the Scoriop-N and Safari which are not providing what Alcazar provides then why shall I pay extra for just power and Torque?? :D 9. Alcazar vs Xuv 700 - Well i moved to alcazar over xuv700 is due to 2 reasons: 1. XUV 700 is too advanced in terms of technology and full of sensors, If you have sensory electronic components in the car surely the maintenance cost/ Sudden failure of this would be a normal scenarion (XUV 700 was called off 4 times due to this, Google it pls ) and In the long run I cannot spend time going to pathetic Mahindra service centers for sensor issues 2. Waiting Period Obviously.
For same reasons we bought Alcazar signature just a week back..we had booked xuv700 though but considering all the points u ve mentioned we cancelled xuv..22.5 for mid variant..here we bought top model.
I love Tata and Mahindra as both are Indian manufacturers. I already own a Tata Altroz and had a Tata Zest earlier. I cancelled out Safari and XUV 7OO to choose Alcazar diesel automatic Platinum. Reasons are: 1. Much more features compared to Safari and some features more than XUV 7OO. Example: No 360 degree cam in Safari, no ambient light in XUV 7OO etc. 2. Mileage is much better. I get 15-16 kmpl in city and 21 kmpl on highway easily with 3-4 pax in car and AC at 21 degrees automatic mode. 3. Dual toned leather interior much easier to maintain than the white ones in Safari and XUV 7OO. After paying 22 lakhs and getting leather seats I definitely will not put a seat cover. 4. Since Alcazar is weighing more than 500 kgs lesser than XUV 7OO and Safari, the 115 bhp and 250 nm torque is very very good for its weight. Hence it is very smooth to drive on steep uphill mountain roads. 5. Softer suspension of Alcazar gives a better comfort. 6. Lots of practicality in Alcazar. Example: Physical drive mode selection wheel in Alcazar is better than touchscreen enabled only Zip Zap Zoom selection in XUV 7OO. 7. All 3 cars are made for 5 adults and 2 kids or hobbits. So last row is not for adults for long drive. However boot space in Alcazar with 3rd row up is much better. 8. Lots of usb charging options in Alcazar and the wireless charging supports fast 10W wireless charging. XUV 7OO charges at 5W only. 9. Automatic dimming IRVM is a must in a 2.2 million car which is a huge miss in XUV. 10. Driving inside the city and specially in lanes is much easier in Alcazar. Safari has a hydraulic steering which is tiring in the city but great on highways. XUV is better than Safari but not as light as Alcazar. 11. Touchscreen quality of 10.25 inches in Alcazar is the best I have ever seen in a car less than 30 lakhs. The response is just amazing. Feels like using a tab. 12. When driving the car in manual mode, Alcazar's excellent flappy paddle or paddle shifters are so good. This is a miss in both Safari and Xuv. 13. NVH level in Alcazar is the lowest. Hishest is in XUV 7OO. Finally, at 2.2 million INR on road the features that Alcazar is giving is not being given by any other car in India.
All are same for offroading. None are capable of going on pure offroad tracks. XUV 7OO AXL L edition has 4WD mode but still that does not take the car to Sandakphu tracks.
I have signature dualtone 1.5 diesel, Overall car is awesome, Some features are missing like smart lock, auto close window on lock , rain sensing wiper etc Mileage is good city 17.5km and 22.5 km on highway
Jinko NCAP rating ke actual parameters pata hai unko malum hai ki Alcazar ki safety features kai jyada. Eg. ASEAN NCAP mein Creta ko 5 star rating hai, and Alcazar ke safety features uss specification ke Creta se bhi jyada hai.
Very good review. One thing the owner said in last is true, many people will avoid 24 to 25 lakh car just for features... Instead they best to go for creta or seltos

Safety ratings are a big gimmick. You have to be smart about it. All crash test ratings are done at very low speeds. Only 2 wheelers and some 3-wheelers and some very cautious drivers drive at those speeds on our highways. 100/110/120 is the normal speed range on our highways. Whether it is your mistake or other guy’s mistake, the outcome of an accident at these speeds is not tested and its catastrophic most of the times. Even a maybach couldn’t save TATA Ex-chairman in the expressway crash. So, there’s no point dancing around that my car has 5-star rating etc. Whether its a bmw or an alto, a car is only as safe as the driver at the controls and the road conditions in a country. It’s stupid to get carried away with foreign NCAP ratings. It’s my opinion..

Formula 1 cars cost millions of dollars and still have 1.6 ltr engines producing 750+ HP. Bigger engine means more power and performance is such an outdated concept. Infact bigger engines are heavier and more difficult to maintain, so its mostly a drawback. eg. The new 1.5 turbo petrol engine is producing 160 HP, without the weight penalty,

Despite being launch over a year ago still there's no match in terms of quality and convenience.
At this price diesel Alcazar is not a good choice we can only go for petrol for its power if diesel is choice then xuv and Tata is best
