Dear David, I've discovered these 3 ballets in the Foundation, I'm not even sure if they have ever been performed, but all the 3 are lovely, the first one with 2 oboes, 2 horns, 1 harspichord and strings and the one you like so much just for strings and English horn... I will write you!
@@cygnebleu Well done! I've had delightful correspondence from the out-going controller of the BBC Proms thanking me for my programming over the years. Also, an encouraging letter from his successor! I am programming 2027 now and will include something from Peter (as I have done in the past) in an effort to get his music played at The Proms for the first time. Don't worry I haven't forgotten you.
@@cygnebleu Actually, I've just programmed it. Peter Mieg: Les Ombres de Pierrot 14" (PROMS PREMIERE) Frederick Delius: Cello Concerto 25" (last played 1993) (3 performances) Interval Francis Potts: At First Light 42" (PROMS PREMIERE) You may wish to listen to the concert in full via You Tube and see how Peter's work fits it. I think it works with the Delius that fits in with the Potts. Let me know what you think.
This is possibly the best piece I've heard by this composer. A delight from start to finish.
