  • I've been using a Raspberry Pi for a decade now. However, while pricing out the new Raspberry Pi 5 with all the accessories I wanted gave me a bit of sticker shock. As an alternative, I gave the Beelink Mini S12 Pro a try and was pleasantly surprised with the results! Stay tuned for Part 2, where I install Proxmox onto this Mini PC!

A nice value with the RAM, storage, Win 11 Pro and ports provided for the price. I have one of these and find the N100 to be the high end of the low end of CPU's.

100% For standard/general purpose Windows 11 box, this is going to be my Go To solution. 👍

Absolutely! It opens up so many possibilities, for a relatively inexpensive price. I'm working on a video right now where I'm installing Proxmox onto this box. So I can use it as my homelab server.Stay tuned!

@@BIsForBudget the best bang for your buck out there. I got one for my nephew and set up a 2tb Retrobat build. He only likes PS2, GameCube and PSP. Then I installed the Android Subsystem and added the popular streaming apps. Definitely worth it

Can I use it headless? I just want to stick it out of the way and connect over network to it. I don't want keyboard/monitor permanently attached. Might want to do some kind of wake-on-lan for remote.

Absolutely, mine is currently running Proxmox with a few containers/VMs. After the initial setup, I just set it up in my network rack with just power and ethernet connected.

Were the test run in low power mode? Cinebench shows 0.81 Ghz.

Oh, that's an interesting comment. All tests were run right out of the box. No config changes made. Upon a bit of Googling, do you mean up'ing the "Power Limit 1" option in BIOs to 25000, or 30000?

Oh so it's only a single channel ram config.

You should stick with RP and not bother with the China crap, they look nice, but that is all the quality is poor.

I haven't had a problem so far running the box 24/7 for 6 months. I'll keep you posted as to how things go long term. That said, this is for home/homelab use, nothing mission critical.

Gigabit Ethernet is a backward step these days.

Gigabit Ethernet is fine for my home/homelab needs. I'm not frequently transferring larger files a cross my network. That said, you're right, I will be upgrading to once it's time to refresh my home network.
