    This is definitely the Felixstowe I remember from the early 1970's when my then husband was stationed at US Bentwaters. I lived in town on 34 Cobbold Road., I LOVED, LOVED my time there and went back several times to visit in the 1980's. Such a special and magical place Felixstowe is. A little bit of paradise.

    My aunt and uncle had a caravan there from early fifties. We must have gone twice a year from 1956 to around early seventies. I remember Peters ice cream, the fairground, the pitch and putt, the figures of eight race track, and all the trinket shops trying to sell me an identity bracelet. And they sold cow bells around the mid sixties when everyone listened to Radio Caroline, just offshore. It was a gentle holiday town and I always look back with affection.

    So many memories. Born and brought up in Fxt. First love, walking hand in hand on the Prom, trying to preserve dignity changing on the beach remembering Millars, restaurant, etc,etc. Still in the area and have fond memories at the age of 66.

    Just got back from 10 days in Felixstowe. We lived there in the 70's and two sisters still live there. I worked backstage at the Spa Pavilion and it still looks the same. Much of the seafront is just as I remember it. Thank you for this. It's good to see that some places haven't changed that much.

    Many thanks Mackenzie for uploading this wonderful video. You are so lucky to have been able to film your family back in 1966 and we are so lucky that you have posted on youtube.
    I was on holiday in Felixstowe with my parents in August 1966 and August 1967 when I was 10 - 11 years old so this footage really brings back the memories, who knows, we may have even walked past each other!.
    Do you, or anyone else for that matter, remember the massive slot car racing machine in Manning's Amusements? I loved playing on that. Also does anyone remember the figure of 8 raceway on Sea Road? It had a wooden plank track with metal runners in between the planks to conduct the electric to the cars which were two seaters. Had many races with my cousins on here. Happy memories. Thank you again for posting.

    What a wonderful little film. Although it's very personal, it is an amazing piece of social history. So genteel and innocent. A world away from today's ugly, brash commercialism and long before mass immigration had made an impact. A very British scene. Long gone sadly.
    The pretty young girl at the centre of this film will probably be in her 70's now!! That is a sobering thought to us all.
    Thank you for uploading this.

      I'm glad that you enjoyed my movie, yes The World was a better place then, the young lady is Pearl and she will be 69 now I guess. I lost touch with her in the late 60's.

      Had to bring immigration into it 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Still see the very same scenes all throughout Britain today. Chill out you still run YOUR country.

    • @doktoruzo
      @doktoruzo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chanelno.5560 ..It's true though. Mass immigration has destroyed Western Europe. In some parts of the country it is actually quite difficult to see native, indigenous people. Parts of London, Leicester, Bradford etc. Forced multiculturalism by the Cultural Marxists.
