  • David Longdon, front man and lead vocalist for the progressive rock band Big Big Train, talks about how in the 70s it felt like every week a new band or genre of music was arriving. It was a rich era of creativity and the period when buying new music was a 'headphone' expereince, drinking in the information in the album cover and sleeve! This excerpt is taken from the full length version of episode 2 of Telling Tales.

I bought Selling England by the Pound because I
Liked the cover. It turned me into a fanatic!

I bought and then there were 3 just for Follow you follow me… and right from that long string sound intro on side 1 was hooked… I went back towards the early albums first and was just so identified with the music.
