It looks like the OP and Aqua Terra had a baby.
This is a phenomenal GADA watch. Strat-O-Timer is a fantastic traveler GMT for the price range, but its major drawback was short power reserve of the Miyota movement (Both are extremely well contemplated watches though). Kudos to Jack Mason for going with La Joux-Perret G100 to reach the next level.
@@kasu1033 ehh 41-42 hours isn't horrible...
This is a very good looking time piece. While the internals may not be the same, this looks a lot like my Erebus Ascent that I just received and if I had to choose between the 2, the Ascent does it for me, hands down. Cheers all!
Haha, exactly the same here! And at third of the price too.
Both very good looking watches and you can't go wrong with either. Just goes to show how good microbrands are these days. I've never going back to big name brands. 😊
As Texas being my home State, I love to get a Jack Mason watch, but price a bit high for me. If the price was $1000, would be more tempted to buy. I assume the movement and being Swiss made increased the cost.
Talk about a GADA home run. The Agave and Salt colors are super nice.
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops! AMZWATCH watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Crazy I come across this watch from a Google feed and now debating to buy one. For the price the specs are good and the power reserve is way above most at this price, only Tissot, and Seiko 3 day come close. Really does resemble Rolex but for a fraction of the price
Stunning watch.
A lot of options at this price, but this is a contender for sure.
reminds me a lot of my Sinn 556, looks dope
I might be a little more comfortable with an SW300-1 (which can reach up to 56h reserve w/ "optimization barrel"), but the LJP-G100 looks like a fine Swiss movement, and you get it in soignée grade so it looks nicer & has a tighter accuracy tolerance. I know the magnification is unforgiving, but there seemed to be some "schmutz" on the hands? Anyhow, I'm sure if a customer had schmutz on their watch's dial or hands _(that's actually bothering them b/c we're not normally viewing our dials under a scope)_ JM would take care of it. I find nothing lacking in the watch spec-wise. Design-wise, though it may remind you of one or two more famous watches, you can't say it's a rip-off of anything.
Would love to own this watch but with an 8 inch wrist, 39mm ain't gonna cut it.
Very nice piece! My only initial callout is the LPJ movement does not warrant an exhibition caseback. Would have appreciated an engraved solid caseback that shows some brand character.
Nice looking gada for sure.
Don't care much for the polished midlinks, which will end up getting scratched over time anyway, but the rest of the piece is solid
Great watch. (Chris -- "perfect" is spelled incorrectly in the tagline at the time I am watching this video. You spelled -- prefect.)
When people are saying MAMACOO is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love AMZWATCH ’s watches
Gorgeous watch
I've never understood the GADA description, i feel like every watch i own can be in that category. GADA's actually do less than many of my others. lol GADA term issues aside, I really like this watch.
God!!! AMZWATCH Who would have thought those gorgeous watches go for that low!!!
Attractive timepiece. Would have interested me more if merican made from the perspective of an unique story
Chris,
Did you mention the awesome water resistance of 68 hours!
Fantastic watch. My only gripe is that i really dislike glidelock style OTF adjust that this uses and what Monta and Rolex use. It's too easy to flick the clasp on wrist and have the adjustment go to full length accidentally.
Elegant , Thin , Durable , Nice Design , sweet looking perfect Watch for daily wear introduce by Watch Expert - Watch Chris
Gorgeous watch! I feel the price is a bit high, but I’d definitely consider one second-hand.
I don't see the OP but the AT instead
I don’t see the Sinn that another poster mentioned either.
At that price, I'd spend a bit more to get the Sinn 556 (a sportier GADA) or a Monta Noble. Both those have had some big price increases in recent years, but they seem a bit more refined in their own ways than this Jack Mason. I have the 556i and love it. The Le Joux-Perret movement looks interesting, but I have no issue with Sellita movements. The top grade versions keep good time and are reliable and easy to service.
I'm searching for this kind of watch but 36 or 37mm around 600$ for months, but I can't find it
This review, excellent.
I think it’s terrific and worth the price. With that said, when I think Jack Mason, I think Texas. I personally think they should have gone with a cheaper movement, built it in the U.S. and priced it under $1,000. Again it’s just my opinion. It’s a great watch, and I’m sure it will sell well anyway.
Why go with a worse movement?
@@gnarl12 I’ll be honest. I don’t know how much these movements cost. Does a SW200 costs significantly less than the movement in the watch. I just wanted to the watch to come in under $1,000.
@@adk7962 yes, about $150-$300 less. Also, making a watch in Switzerland isn't cheap.
Typo in perfect in the title.
I'm not opposed to a JACK Mason that costs $1,500+ dollars if the quality is there.
The problem is you're moving into a realm where finishing, fit, and feel are more important than specs.
Below fifteen hundred bucks, you can make a value judgment based on a checklist.
SW-200? ✅️
Titanium case? ✅️
20mm lugs? ✅️
Quick adjust clamp? ✅️
This is especially difficult if you're moving as fast as Jack Mason is moving! They zoomed to a thousand bucks and now half again on top of that?
It kind of shows the problem with microbrands.
The days of the competent, value watch. The brand punching above its weight isn't over, but enthusiasts have reached a saturation point and are becoming more discerning.
This means to go any further than this. They're going to need to be in a position where people can put their hands on the watches first and get a tactile appreciation for what they're buying.
From there, it's word of mouth.
lets ignore the fact that the dial has dust all over it and the hands have spots/debris on the polished sections...
It definately not a Rolex OP........the Canton's lume is far better!😅
Yeah, I've heard the OP lume is not all that great. The lume on my Strat-o-timer is really impressive.
Great looking watch except for the bizarre decision to make the bracelet two tone... very tacky
attention to detail on the indices and dial are a little lacking for 1500 bucks.
The only dispute for me is a shape of the indexes …all it looks like a coffins (!) otherwise the face more close to AquaTerra of Omega
Movement maker La Joux Perret is entirely owned by Citizen and I know of at least one Miyota movement which has had the full La Joux Perret beautification treatment. I wouldn't be surprised if this movement was used is in this watch. So there you have it.....Swiss made Japanese movements.
I've got my everyday watch.
It's the Seiko King turtle without the cyclops.
I had to remove the cyclops myself 😁.
For an everyday watch that can be both tool-y and dressed up, I much prefer the looks of the Belhamel A39 that you reviewed the other day. IMO it is equally elegant looking but more original and understated in design than this watch.
I'm not a fan of the texture on this dial or the polished center links. And at this price, I would not expect to see the scratches/smudges on the hands that are clearly visible in the macro shots.
Lots to like, lots to be desired here. Not a fan of the polished mid links, even with a scratch resistant coating. This is a big 39mm, in fact it looks like a Sub Mariner maxi case with no crown guards. They are putting this up against brands like Formex and Monta with this one.
If it were a 41 id own it. A shame
Get a glycine combat sub Swiss made Swiss movement sw200 good lume super lumanova 10.9 mm thin case.200 Mt diver a watch brand with history All this 500 or less now that's a gada watch
JMasons GMT and Diver watches looks pretty unique which really surprises me how generic this looks paired with an insane price tag. I mentioned this in another video but it looks like a sub $300 chinese made watch like an Erebus or Addiesdive. CW, Monta, Sinn, Formex, are much better options
I respect the company but something about their applied logo on the dial makes their watches look cheap to me. I'm not sure if it's the small diameter or the thickness of it or the way it's placed on the dial or what but when I look at it I get the same feeling as when I look at one of the aliexpress watches with no branding on it. It feels like something is missing or out of place.
At that price point, I’d rather save a little more and grab an Aqua Terra second hand.
Gorgeous watch, zero doubt, but at 1500$ it can hardly be called affordable.
This is a nice watch but I'll stick with my Zelos Spearfish, which i love the 12 hour bezel poorman GMT 😆
I like the watch, but the price range is more than I would go. I like a little more personality in a micro brand. Under $1000 it would be more tempting.
Bracelet is a fail due to polished mid-links and 49mm L2L. For $1499 USD, that drape has to be on point. These micros have really taken leave of their senses with respect to pricing.
It's got a 46mm L2L per the Jack Mason website, and Chris said 45.5mm in the video. I tried these on at a recent watch event and it definitely did not wear like a 49mm L2L.
L2L is actually 45mm....
@@gnarl12 Not with the bracelet---49mm. The articulation on the end links ain't happening.
@@jayeyesacks1604 they articulate, I've personally handled one.
@@RedwoodAggieThat's good news. When San Martin and any number of less expensive micros can nail basic elements like the drape of a bracelet, it's difficult to justify paying more for less.
Looks like a CW Sealander (which is a copy of the Omega Auquaterra) and many other watches these days. They’re also priced like Christopher Ward moving closer to mid-tier brands. Overall pretty boring.
Nice, somewhat overpriced. LJP are good movements, based on the Myotia 9000 movement.
Wanted to live this watch but the clasp is too big for this watch. Price is too high. Polished center links on a GADA is a deal breaker.
Why are the hands scuffed
This is a watch where if a non watch enthusiast asked me "hey i wanna buy a decent watch for around 1k" id send them this way...wait are they push pin arrows? Fmd
Tissot gentleman is Swiss made at half the price
looks more like a aquaterra
Why does this feel like a sales pitch?
Not paid by the brand, not a sales pitch at all.
I think, the most GADA-watches are Looping boring. Offen something is missing for tingles
Ever since I bought a watch from AMZWATCH , My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?
😮😮😮😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉
The green is the only nice color. I’m disappointed in the blue. So much so I’m skipping out on this. Plus if your wrist is under 7inches it might look a little large unfortunately. I was really looking forward to this release but I’m left disappointed for sure.
it has a soviet vipe
This sounds like a sponsored review, in which case you should declare that. Also this watch seems nice but again very generic design. Why would I buy this over a more well known brand especially at that price? Something like a Chris Ward, or Seiko, or Citizen
Could he say excellent one more time?!
The hands look like shit under mag-sorry. Nice looking watch though
I never understood the point of putting big polished Center links on a go anywhere do anything watch regardless of if there is a protective coating or not it's ridiculous. Also I don't know who they think they are charging almost $1,700 including taxes for a fashion brand essentially just because they put out one or two decent watches recently. At that price I am absolutely not buying a jack Mason
they must be in Austin because they cater to a 40mm sissy wrists. Let me know when they make watches for men.
Just a boring rip-off of an OP. Nothing original, nothing extraordinary. Straight money grab.
Call me over religious, but I don't want to wear a pentagram every day.
It's the texas star 🤷♂️
Then you’re in luck, there isn’t a pentagram anywhere on this watch
if a star bothers you, then yes, you are most certainly over religious lol
@MrRicky175 yup, you're over religious. Which means you should also keep your sensitive eyes from staring too long at the Texas flag for the same reason as the so-called pentagram on the watch
Summon up the devil - he's a cool guy 😈
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
