I used the sockets as a diesel mechanic and they hold up professionally for sure at a great price. The cases they come in is why I considered them to begin with.

I 100% agree. I think they're most known for their impact sockets anyways. My box is full of em and I wouldn't trade them for any other brand.

Love the sockets. I looked at them when I got my last wrench set and there were a lot of bad reviews. I had a hard time justifying the flank drives but every time I use one I’m glad I spent a little more

I have their 3/8" drive semi deep impact sockets in SAE and Metric. They have thinner walls which I actually like and is one of the reasons I bought them and the sets come with various impact extensions and a u joint. They work real well.

Hi my Awesome brother CP, I just got in yesterday my Sunex Master 3/8 drive set and they look very well made. It's my first Sunex purchase. Thank you for helping me and letting me know how good these sockets have very good to you. Now I know they will good to me. 😎

Have the 1/2 and 3/8 impact master sets as well as the 1/4 impact set. I also have their stubby 3/8 and 1/2 air impacts. Was the first impact sets I ever owned. They’ve been great!

I have those stubbies and they are just too wide. They are short big headed wrenches 🔧 that’s fine in open space but when I tried to use them in a tight space they didn’t fit. That 1/4 inch impact master set is really nice! I’m just going to leave them in the case. It’s very compact and easy to carry

I bought one of the 8057 carts online about a year ago. I wasn't disappointed with the quality at all. I was pissed off because they couldn't give the correct dimensions! I asked Sunex and they said the website dimensions were correct. Low and behold they were the shipping dimensions... I was expecting a large cart and got significantly smaller. Impact sockets are great though!

Most of my SAE stuff is Sunnex because I’m 99.9999999% metric. So for the 2-3 times a year I use them it’s fine.
I have a friend who uses sunnex impacts daily in a car shop and he’s never broken one in 11 years.
    Im a fan.

I have some of their stubby and long metric wrenches and for me as a mechanic on the side they’ve held up decent I mostly work in combines and tractors now I can see if you’re using them on a daily basis you might want something better but for me they get the job done.

Greetings CP! I have the Sunex 1/4" 12-point, universal magnetic impact metric socket set on order. Mr. Clay from the Koon Trucking channel showed the Matco version last Saturday on the Matco tool truck episode he does. That set was a smaller set up for about $100. I checked the Matco website for a more complete set like the Sunex set I ordered. Whoa Nellie, I cannot justify spending almost twice as much for the Matco set, I know Mr. Clay can, but I cain't! I have read a lot of positive comments about the Sunex impact sockets. I'm looking forward to using them.
I had the ICON metric version of those stubby wrenches, but they just sat in tray in the tool box; never used. So, I exchanged them for the ICON 1/2" drive breaker bar; it has held up well for me.

    • @CPthetooladdict
      @CPthetooladdict  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Ya matco is over inflated to be honest those sockets are rebrands of sunex so you made a good decision you should check out the Ko-ken Nut grip sockets i have a video on them they are fantastic and very reasonable

All i was looking for was to see if CP gave the ok to Sunex sockets. I need 3 swivel universals (1/4, 3/8/ & 1/2) & the Sunex look to be non pin type which is what i wanted and very affordable. I only purchase tools that pass the CP test!!! I wish you would have let Henry make an appearance though CP

As a heavy duty diesel mechanic I don't use 1/4" drive often, but when I do I beat the crap out of them with a 4 pound mallet as a diesel mechanic righteously does. 😂
Seriously, I don't exactly remember but I was driving some kind of bushing out and I used a 1/4" drive 1/2" Sunex impact socket. I beat the living crap out of it thinking of socket was going to be completely destroyed and it's perfectly usable still. A little deformed on the drive side but it's still usable. It's one tough little socket. 😂

I have their impact sockets (my SAE sets), made in Tiawan. They are decent and priced right. The way I am is on imported tools: European, Japanese, Tiawanese. I try to avoid China. I avoid India, they are just not there yet. I hope someday India will make decent value-quality consumer/pro tools. I like to buy from a country that shares at least some of my values. I do like them pin-up carts, I've always been a sucker for cheesecake.

Put some elbow grease into a Wright grip combo wrench and then into an ICON . You'll notice 2 big differences . Number 1 ... the open end of the Wright grip DOES NOT SPREAD . number 2 ... the palm of your hand does not hurt wrenching with the Wright Grip . Icon can't say these things . I've no issue with ICON impact sockets (they bounce but they transfer impact very well for it) just got Sunnex 1/4" universal impact set ... they MATCH matco identically .
