    I've had my Oregon Concerto Myrtlewood CE for almost 5 yrs now and it still very much has that WOW!! factor for me! I came across this guitar at 3rd Rock Music in Cincy, I'd never played a domestic Breedlove and when I did, I couldn't believe the tone and the beauty of Myrtlewood. Even my wife, who thinks that all guitars are just pieces of wood with strings on it was amazed by it. Even after almost 5 yrs, there are times that I'll play chord just to listen to it ring out - the sustain and the overtones just amaze me still after nearly 5 yrs. Even though the Concerto body is a large guitar, I use it for fingerstyle - the tone rings out so nicely and is smooth & even across the strings. It reminds me of an electric guitar with a compressor on it. No boomy bass and no out of control treble. I have sights set on a Concertna and maybe a Breedlove CMW if I can find one at the right price. Bottom line, if you want a great guitar that is built very well - look no farther than Breedlove Myrtlewood guitars

    First of all, the guitar playing itself was fantastic. It was great to hear a couple different styles of guitar playing on the instrument which handled it beautifully. Next, the sound this guitar put out was really cool and sounded great. I don't use any picks when I play, and I know, I wouldn't have any trouble getting some great sounds from the guitar.

    I've got a 2016 all Koa. Still got the sales receipt. $999. Top, back AND sides are Koa. It's one of the earlier ones with the Koa veneered headstock. The later ones used a cheaper black headstock. It's 6-string , rosewood neck. This guitar is AS NEW. Not one scratch anywhere on it, likely because I can't really play guitar, can only dink around with it. My thing is keyboards. Years ago I used to play in various bands with the shop owner. Also have the Breedlove black hardshell case with gold hardware and gorgeous bright red stitching. I use a humidifier that's a special kind of sponge-like material that holds water for a long time and drops into a plastic case that extends down into the sound hole. Almost forgot- it's got the Fishman pre-amp electronics built in as well. Oh, and the tuning hardware is all gold.

      @@suedetvrecordingstudio4918 @suedetvrecordingstudio4918 You want to buy my guitar? It 1,000% IS AS NEW. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Not even a teensy weeny scratch anywhere. What's it worth to you? Notice I edited my original comment 'cuz I forgot to mention the built-in electronics AND GOLD TUNING HARDWARE.. not the new kind, the older 100% all gold tuners. So you are in a band?...or have a studio? MAKE ME AN OFFER! I've got some gorgeous pics I could email to you. I think that after all these years of being tenderly cared for it really DOES DESERVE to be played by a real guitar player. Where are you located? There is the "Ship Shop" here in town that could safely package and send it in its case to you, if necessary. I have no idea what that would cost. I live in north-eastern OR at 97801. I don't have a prob with you checking it out in person if you wanted to.
      I found a YT vid of my exact guitar. It's EXACTLY like the one in this vid. In the vid the tuners almost look chrome, but watch carefully and you;ll see they are gold. Search YT for: NAMM '16 - Breedlove Pursuit Concert Koa and Oregen Concert Rogue Demos

    My next guitar will be a breedlove Concerto. I want the murtlewood back and sides, spruce top, and a cutaway and electronics. I played one a while ago at my local music shop and it sounded great. The sound of the guitar in this video was very nice and enjoyable to listen to.

      How much did you buy your guitar for? And its play ability is it good? I have a Taylor 524, and it plays really good, I want to find out if the sound is Nice and full. With some brightness to it.

    • @scottfishkind5335

      @@moisesperez4605 I paid about $540 before tax plus I purchased a hard shell case, so around $700 total.
      It's a nice sounding balanced guitar.
      However it is a small bodied guitar, my Walden G630 CE, which is the same price sounds richer and brighter.
      But they are completely different animals. I still enjoy the intimate sound of my Breedlove as well as it's smaller size for long practice sessions.
      The Breedlove Concerto is closer to a Grand Auditorium and probably a closer comparison.
      I did in depth videos for both where I demonstrate them both acoustically and through a Fishman Loudbox Mini:

      Thank you! This is actually the natural wood color. I believe that they just refer to it as the natural finish. The myrtlewood is so beautiful and very unique. I’ve notice a little bit of an amber coloring as it ages. It’s a stunning wood!

    • @dustinrosemusic
      @dustinrosemusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me, absolutely! It allows me to maneuver around it more easily than a dreadnought. It’s a good shape and size for me but it’s kind of a personal thing.

    What would be the sound differences between having a myrtlewood top vs a sitka?

    • @dustinrosemusic
      @dustinrosemusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I find that the myrtlewood is more even and balanced sounding. It does very well with a pickup in live and studio settings. My studio engineers have loved working with it. The Sitka is much sweeter sounding. It has a natural scoop in the mid range. I believe that the myrtlewood is more dense and can take a heavier hand. It loses the subtleties that Sitka can convey. But it can take a beating very well. The myrtlewood is also a little more sturdy when traveling in extreme weather changes. It’s very consistent.

    • @dustinrosemusic
      @dustinrosemusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This one is a Concerto size. It’s based on the Concert size just bigger. One way to look at it is that it’s a Dreadnought size with the shape of a Concert. I’m going to do a video highlighting the Concerto size in general and explain it a little better. Sorry for the confusion.

    • @dustinrosemusic
      @dustinrosemusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is somewhat inaccurate. They do make a large amount in China now but they still make their $1500+ guitars in Bend, Oregon. I’ve been there many times (up until Covid) and they still make many in Oregon. I know a number of their builders and other employees. They do still build guitars in Oregon.

    • @lopakaholmberg
      @lopakaholmberg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Literally almost every manufacturer uses Asian manufacturing for their low end spec guitars. It’s not financially viable to waste luthier time on a $499 guitar. Like practically all manufacturers, they have luthier builds at a matching price. Meaning, your local store doesn’t want to front the money for the high end builds

      You do realize that almost every American company in any industry uses overseas manufacturing good one thing or another, right? That includes Taylor, who has a factory in Mexico for their lines below 300. Breedlove most certainly still makes their high end guitars in Oregon. The line is even called "Oregon" for crying out loud.
