I am going to take you through the proces of geting a Visa for Shenzhen on arrival at the Lo Wu border point.
this Visa type is available to a wide variety of passport holders from many countries, takes around 15 miniutes to get and costs 160RMB.
this is by far the fastest way to get into Hong Kongs sister city Shenzhen, the electronics capital of the world, fake markets haven and in my opinion the best city in China for a short stay shopping trip

yea, you can at Shenzhen airport. i think it is open from 10am till the time of the last flight for the day, so if you arrive early morning you will have to wait till it opens

It's safer to apply for 144hrs transit access at Shenzhen Airport. IDK if port visa is available at the airport there.

i am not sure, i have seen indian's in the port visa office getting visa's but there is no guarentee. and who they let get one can change from day to day sometimes. it is always worth a try since it is only an hour out of your day to go the the border and find out, if you get rejected you just get the train back and have lost nothing but time. where as the normal visa can take up to 5 days to process.

What happens if you leave Shenzhen and go to dongguan for 1 day?
A day trip would probably go un noticed, but if you book into a hotel overnight you may have issues
