Wow watching this gave me goosebumps. The way you conveyed the beauty of the Spirit Trail is awesome. Love the music and cinematic excellence. Thanks for the kind words as well. Maybe one day we will bump into each other on the Trail again and I will be able to fully share the lore and uniqueness of it with you.
It was my pleasure and honor to make your acquaintance on the trail that day. Your work and legacy is inspiring to all in the Pennsylvania hiking and nature community. I tried my best to convey the simple beauty of the trail and what can be seen along the way and what you have crafted and created. Thanks again my friend...
I had fond memories of the beach, picnic area with our big family. My grandmother grew up in Morea (off of Burma Rd) and took us grandkids to the lake beach . Gram had 9 kids and tons of grandkids who treated us to her childhood areas. I miss her and those times....
That was a gorgeous forest! You somehow captured the heavy, tactile air of a Pennsylvania summer visually. I love this! You did see great rhodies! Amazing rhodies! I love the shot looking up thru the bridge ❤️ the sound makes it. Very fortuitous for you to meet Pap on his trail! An opportunity you will not forget and for him to connect with at least 6000 (Congrats!) of the people that he serves so faithfully. Love the pics at the end, too. I need to look at Instagram more. Thanks for sharing! Peace & Prayers.
I remember when I first got on Instagram and I didn't really like it too much, but now I always post content there before it gets out to the TH-cam channel. I hope he was happy with the video, I wanted to give my take on things and show the wonderful creation he has gifted all of us - The Spirit of Tuscarora Trail...
Outstanding, you have found the perfect ratio of music, frames and tone of your narration! The result= so what else but another cinematic masterpiece. 👏
This was a nice, simple edit. Filming conditions were perfect in the early morning light. Sometimes a minimalist approach is better with these nature films. Thank you Ervin.
I didn't realize how close to home this place actually is. We will have to check out what all the fuss is about, hopefully in the very near future. It certainly looked inviting through your lens! Thanks for sharing!
This was a simple video, not alot of editing, just walking through nature, but in many ways these are my favorite ones. Sometimes less can be more when doing nature videos...
Thanks Darcy, I pretty much just set the camera down every time I saw a nice composition, sometimes taking a simple minimalist approach is the way to go for me...
You know, except for a handful of the really smaller ones- all the PA State Parks are just such awesome places to be. Alot of times I stop at Tuscarora when I am returning from an expedition in Northeastern Pa, just because it is always peaceful there by the lake. I kept this video in a real simple style, sometimes I don't feel like talking to much - just walking and enjoying nature...
Hello hiking friend. Wow that is a beautiful video production. I truly enjoyed it. You have a new friend and subscriber! I look forward to watch more of your content. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. 🥰
I feel that I was about a week late for the bloom there, although Pap told me the bloom is cyclical and this was an off year, which I found interesting...
Nice! I now have another one of your strolls to add to my "to do" list! Pretty neat that you met Pap too...I'm all for flat ground/slow meandering on a hot day. I did one of those recently at Apollo County Park and Wizard Ranch in York County...cheers!
Lots of small wood frogs or toads, did see one very small garter snake, and a big buck early in the morning. It's a lovingly maintained very peaceful trail.
You really captured the beauty of this park and this trail. You can tell by the lighting at the start of the video that you had an early start to beat the heat. I loved the underwater shots and your video really captured the excitement of getting to meet Pap. He has created and maintained an awesome trail. We are all lucky that we get to enjoy it.
Very well said Sara thanks! Yes the lighting was perfect, I love being in the forest as it comes to life. Many spots were too dark to film but that's ok I love those conditions. Pap is true treasu5of the Pennsylvania nature community...
Beautiful shots as always. Yeah, the heat these days is no joke. Good for you for getting out on the trail anyway! Pap was so cool! Am so glad there are people out there like him! Hiking always makes us appreciate our fellow humans on this beautiful planet 🌎
Even at sunrise you could feel it which is really unusual. I just moved really slow, which when I think about it - those are in my opinion my best videos - the ones where I cover a short distance but really immerse myself in the surroundings... At ant rate it was a pleasure to meet him - the folks who maintain trails are the heroes of the hiking community...
Have you been to Jim Thorpe? And Pa's Grand Canyon? I would love to see them through your lens 🧐 May God bless you and your adventures. Thank you for sharing your work with us ❌⭕, Iris and Little One 👋🐾
I have filmed at the PA Grand Canyon, In fact I hiked and documented the West Rim Trail which runs for 30 miles above the canyon which was an amazing experience. Thanks so much for the kind words and support!
Glad to see someone else finally found that trail I've been hiking on it for years it's one of my favorites I've lead a couple groups on it. One of the best
@@WALTERZOLNA I've hiked the other side of the lake out and back I couldn't figure out how to get down to the cable bridge there has to be a trail somewhere. @@Dwvideos Hi there. There is no trail that connects the wire bridge crossing to the Crow Trail, To do the complete circle around the Lake from the Crow Trail parking area, take the Crow Trail, connect to the Lake View Trail, cross the dam breast, go through the day use area to the Spirit Trail. Continue past the wire bridge to the picnic table. Just past the picnic table, before the Spirit Trails veers to the right to go up the hill, you will see narrower trail that goes off to your left. That trail, which is about a half mile long, will take you to Tuscarora Mountain road. Hop over the guard rail, take a left. Cross the bridge over Locust Creek. The dirt road leading back to the Crow Trail parking area will be a few hundred yards up the hill on your left. To do the full circle will be about a 7 mile hike.
@@PapKnauss Wow Thanks Pap I knew there had to be some way to get around the lake that hike is on my bucket list now I plan on being back out by the fall I love that park I've hiked there quite a few times
This Spirit Trail and Pap Knauss deserve more attention and boots on the trail and you’ve captured the magic, tranquility, and enchantment of it that I hope will inspire more to go experience it for themselves. I say “experience” and not just hike because that’s what this trail is…an experience to be had that will change you for walking its path. What Pap has created is nothing short of mystical and beautiful and the very definition of a labor of love. To quote Pap “you will have a lot of wow’s” just like the video you’ve created Walter. I don’t get emotional often but I’m man enough to admit this one made me emotional as it transported me back to my own experience on the trail and a chance encounter with Pap, the Lorax of the Spirit Trail. One I’ll never forget for all my days. Side note: I could watch those beautifully lit underwater shots on a loop to a tranquil soundtrack for hours as background while writing, working on IG posts, etc.
Once again, Cole your eloquent words are perfectly stated. I imagine that Pap and his creation have touched many people's lives both directly and indirectly, and certainly more than he will ever know. He's one of the good ones out there... Hope you are doing well my friend with your family, and enjoying your adventures when you have the chance to take them...
Exquisite, natural, unspoiled beauty! So important to preserve and enlarge natural areas for the ecological diversity, health and longevity for all us. Too much is being lost by man encroaching and exploiting natural habitats that have evolved over millions of years. Thank you
Very well stated my friend. I try to emphasize through my channel the value of nature for its physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental benefits. Open space is essential for good health for both humans and all the other plants and animals that depend on it, I agree 100 percent!

Pap! That beach looks great when it’s all filled in. Was there this winter and water was drained. Crazy.
Yea I heard about the lake draw down. Honestly the water at the beach looked so clean and tempting I should have jumped in for a swim!
Loved your hike, so beautiful. The angles and positions of the camera are awesome.
You inspired me to do more, thank you so mucj❤
