Try Pad Kee Mao noodles aka Drunken noodles, Pad kra pao, spicy basic thai stir fry over rice or noodles, tom kha soup (coconut soup). And if the owners are lao (neighbouring country to Thailand), you may be lucky and get Sai Koo Yat Sai (lao pork dumplings), Nam Khao (rice salad) and larb (beef salad, but it's an acquired taste) with sticky rice. Jasmine rice and Sticky rice are different. Sticky rice you need to use your hand to hold it. Jasmine you scoop with your spoon.

Or you can make it sweet with condense milk, banana, chocolate, etc..

I recently went to thailand and their foods are almost all sweet, they add sugar in almost the dish that i tried which i didnt like, even when the dish said spicy, it taste really sweet, their drinks on the other hand are really good. Esp the coconut drinks

It should be solidly spicy with fresh chilis. The mango sauce is coconut milk mixed with condensed milk. If you don't like mushrooms, maybe you should react to doughnuts instead.
The food isn't a surprise because food is top 3rd reason why most tourists visit Thailand. That's after the weather and low prises for things like apartments, etc. 😉👍🔥
