36:06 A correction I work at Harman & our team has designed the audio system for this car. Let me clarify, usually when you work with an OEM, you struggle to find places where you could install your stuff - In this case, finding the right places & angles to position the speaker. Ãnd then convince the OEM to build their parts around it. I'm happy that what Harman & Mahindra has done with the audio system of BE6 & XEV 9e at this price, no other car offers the same audio quality functionality. It came close to a BMW car worth 2cr when we benchmarked it. When an OEM trusts a brand & supports it, this is the wonders that they can both create.
The leaders of Indian Automotive Companies should take a pause and reflect if their product is good. If it is, then trust the product and the value it delivers and pump break on marketing overkill. Kudos to MotorInc for sticking to its guns and doing the the first impressions when all facts are available.
I love that they do everything in their power to prevent delivering half-facted or half-hearted videos. Really shows their dedication and love for car and bike reviews
The app GOES HARDD!!. I am an Android user, and the app is on par with the most premium-looking apps built by large organizations. It's very minimal but just interesting enough to please the eye. The OCD in me appreciated the symmetry very much. I only want to say that the inbuilt navigation in Android is not working in the app, like the gesture to go back. If that's fixed, the app is good to SMASH!
I have a 3XO. Wasn't even in my wildest dreams to get one but after I drove one I completely fell in love with it din care how it looks coz thats the problem for the people outside the car😄
Poha, Jalebi & Motorinc. Not a bad start to Saturday. Absolutely agree with Shumi about the design. As much as I like the design now, can't shake the feeling that it could become yesterday's dish very soon. Kartik's frustration regarding the amount is time driving the car was Palpable.
I spent more than 2 hours with the sales person and paid for the booking for 9e it's an awesome vehicle I absolutely loved every second I spent in the test drive and the options like single pedal driving were brilliant in the traffic inside the city.
Kudos to Kartik for speaking out about the absurdities of the launch. The event gave off obnoxious vibes as I watched the various content creators' videos. Some handled it with grace, but many understandably did not. We Indians have come a long way in engineering but have a long way yet to go in letting the product speak for itself. Subtlety is definitely not in our genes. Grateful to have you guys. Late but without the noise. Much appreciated!
I don’t understand something and I hope it’d not taken wrong since I’ve been a fan of this page for a long time. I understand Kartikeya has driven this car a long time ago, but saying “I don’t remember, I’ve forgotten” just isn’t right. You’re journalists!? Isn’t this sort of your job to know these things? If you’ve forgotten just look at the spec sheet how long does that take, or even better, just carry one to the Podcast. How does saying “I’ve forgotten” help?
@@motorinc infact i have seen many videos and i thought that too.. i mean talking all that without any scripts and all is great but keeping extra info as in hard copy is also great so you won't miss on details... ggs keep it up. I hope to see you both with extra info sheet..
One correction. Only battery cells are from BYD. Mahindra uses its own design & cooling systems to create battery module & packs. Even they got 35 patent rights in india, Eutope & the USA on their design & tech of battery pack.
Correction: All cars come with Portable chargers (they are EVSE) actual chargers are built in the vehicle. The good thing is BE6 has 11kW on board. However, the portable chargers max support is 2kW to 2.6kW using the 16amp plug. Now to top up 79kWh isn't possible overnight as it will take at least 30-40 Hours to full charge from 0-100%.
I just hope and pray that folks who buy this car drive carefully...like uncle ben said before he died...WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY....
@52:36 you can calculate the duration, 59/3.2 = 18 hours and 79/3.2=24 hours. Then again, you will never charge from 0, your overnight 10 hours charge will drop in 30kwh worth, which is 50% for the base and around 37% for top.
As an European Automotive engineer believe me Mahindra is doing few things way better than european R&D things in terms of testing facilities and rigs. We really need to appreciate them.🌟
Yes that those head heavy senior guys in mahindra are literally show off minded guys and with how they treat the juniors as engineers its frustrating. First thing that should happen in indian automobile engineering sector is these head heavy guys needs to get retired out. Actually 😹

BE and XeV are mind boggling good cars. What engineering - amazed 🔥🔥… only niggle which could slightly improve is SW UI - which is just an OTA update like a mobile phone. Truly amazed - test drive experience was dream like. What a pair of vehicles - wow.
Yea Bangalore Mahindra Sireesha motors has both cars available. Lucky to be placed close to them. Although shorter drives - it’s was just really worth it.
Hey i wanted to buy a car and i decided I would get an bmw 530i the f series but now i also considering the BE6. So can you guys suggest which one will be the better option. Requirements RWD, fun to drive(in city and high way), and youthful.
All this talk about Pratap Bose being so great but why would someone as prolific as him design a car whose back seat is so impractical? And why do Mahindra keep coming up with a new logo every year that somehow looks worse?
My 2 cents - EVs aren't limited to ICE designs anymore. They can take a design life of themselves. So there will be hits and misses. I'm all in for an experiment. Even though it will not be for me. Logo - EVs are a new gold mine that everyone wants to make their future fortunes from. I can understand why they'd want to build a future brand which stands out as premium/future. This is only the beginning in this space. Maybe after a decade you'd see maturity in the market where everything will be much more stable.
They could have made the roof just a bit larger at the back compromising a bit on aerodynamics....just a 5 inches or more of headspace would have been sufficient
@@ub678 You say EVs aren't limited by ICE designs but because the batteries are on the underside, they come with the inherent compromise of a high floor and poor seating position. This means they will have to make the seats and roof higher to make up for that, which they don't seem to have done, probably because that would change the driving dynamics of the car. Besides, the coupe design by itself comes with the disadvantages of poor headroom and small window size.
Was not able to catch this car's coverage when it was launch due to work, when i saw this video suggestion, I felt glad that I will have to watch only one video to know all about it. Love the great work
Brake by wire uses IEB - Integrated Electronic Booster which reduces brake drag and it can be tuned as per user desire but needs case by case adjustment which is not easy. But doable. And the Suspension uses semi active damper. Which uses camera and displacement sensors to adjust it dynamically and also changes sensitivity based on modes. Steering uses VGR variable gear ratio and it has max TURNING - the wheels expose pinion and ecen the interiors as it turns extremely. And the steerng is powered by a 1500w BLAC motor.
In Malayalam, Ola means the leaves of the coconut tree. Ola has been an important part of Keralites’ lives. In the old days, we used Ola to make house roofs, walls, and flooring. It was also used as a compound wall. When Ola becomes dry, it is the best material to start a fire. (I think even Ola ev has a lot of inspiration from the real dry Ola.) We used it as a torch at night by burning tied bundles of Ola. In the kitchen, we used it to create fire in the stove and cook food.
Great review guys 👍, i have an idea in which we can have the sunroof & still peiple will not come out of it - using fixed 'Safety Net' that will allow ventilation but will not allow to come out of it.
Is there any EV with good under thigh support and a deep floor well for the back seats? I have test driven the Nexon EV, XUV 400, Punch EV and sat inside the Currv EV. Among those, only the Punch seemed to have a somewhat acceptably deep floorwell.
@motorinc How about high-end offerings such as the Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and the EQC, EQS etc? Do even the highest end EVs suffer from this problem or have they figured out a way to solve this at least in those segments? I imagine the larger the battery, the higher the floorwell, so higher end cars with more range should be even worse.
I saw this car in person at Airoli bridge the other day somebody was taking a test drive and I loved the looks of this car it very different than anything else on the road everybody was looking at the car at the signal
Considering that Mahindra is offering lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, but very limited kms warranty for the second owner, will this adversely affect the cars second hand market price? And how much do we trust on mahindra's lifetime warranty, will they replace an older battery without trouble for the customer?
I'm in Coimbatore yesterday I saw the orange colour ❤ they are awesome no words to say door thud cabin insulation audio quality touch and feel are so good ❤
Can we buy subscription just for a month or the only option is of annual subscription. I tried and i was only able to find the annual subscription plan.
Mahindra must have seperate showrooms or none like tesla for BE evs..... Waiting to comare between be 6 vs harrier ev awd. wating to see BE even harrier ev in person. Velusamy and rest did a great job in presentation, explaining. Karthik explained well
@7567_Rex not necessary to repeat what tata did. Tata made Tiago. Nexon ev etc but Mahindra be is world class EVs. My opinion is better seperate be etc high tech EVs from ICE.lets see.
56:24 Shouldn't there be a system to notify following drivers when 'single pedal' or heavy regen is active!? Brake lights serve the purpose of notifying others that car is slowing down / stopping. But with this regen, brake light is not activated and isn't it an issue?
Regen does activate brake lights Though the visibility is poor as the light bar is very thin. Can be an issue in direct sunlight hitting your face. At evening/low light scenario, it’s better
I had a question regarding the app. I want to know if I take the lesser of the 2 plans, will be charged the annual amount in one shot or will it be like an instalment of say Rs50 every month deductible. I use an iPhone for reference.
hey can you fix the noise issue around 18:30. the mic gain suddenly increases when there is silence. its very annoying at times. thank you. great video. really thought the event was utter BS. with clips popping on social media very randomly.
What do u think if u implement a little code which will see the upcoming traffic and accordingly adjust the headlight brightness else it really annoy. It invites more accident.
Byd having established a good enough market (for a new company) with the atto 3 having been launched 2 years ago, is the atto 3 a more reliable product for a first time ev owner as compared to 6e and 9e? The pace at which EVs start feeling give me a pause while considering the atto 3 :/
@motorinc first, you guys are amazing, your reviews are like the final verdict, so thank you :) I meant that Byd, and especially atto 3 has made a solid presence in the Indian market for a new entrant. I see atleast one atto 3 once a day. No major issues have been reported afaik. Though the limited number of dealership is concerning for a new buyer but the global presence of byd is somewhat reassuring. On the other hand the BE cars are newer, more feature packed and Mahindra has a wider network. Also considering the geo politics of today and assuming the worst, BYD staying in India for the next 10 years is not a surety. Just confused between the BE6E and the atto 3 dynamic version. Hope I was able to express my confusion :)
Just a few requests regarding features on the app. The app has been really good but I'd liketo request for the chapters to be available to skip directly, watch history feature so when you stop mid video and come back, it strats back where it was left. Thanks

56:24 Shouldn't there be a system to notify following drivers when 'single pedal' or heavy regen is active!? Brake lights serve the purpose of notifying others that car is slowing down / stopping. But with this regen, brake light is not activated and isn't it an issue?
Regen braking activated brake lamps. 👍🏽
@@motorinc noted.
Regen does activate brake lights
Though the visibility is poor as the light bar is very thin.
Yep. All plans are annual. 👍🏽
The front end inspiration is drawn from DC Avanti.
Ahh!
At about 43:10, turning radius is diameter is 5 metres is 10 metres, good catch by your sub-titles guys/editors!!🥤🎀
Good to see you here veeresh ji

Guys - can you release the app internationally? Im an iOS user and I presume you havent launched in all regions of the App Store.
Hi @v2arun, yes, we're limited to India. Complying with each country's rules is something that's out of our bandwidth now.
I don't know how but I saw this car last week with the orange colour in Bangalore. Is it that the delivery is done or is there any other reason?
Must be media test/demo vehicles.
@motorinc Nice!
Technically speaking, it's the same size as the range rover evoque in most dimensions except for the wheelbase, which is longer for the be6
Why isn’t the app available on ipads?
You should do a yearly video of what you want from cars at certain price points. Tech, safety, features, engines etc - "you ideal car under"
Gave a like even before starting to watch 😂
Thanks for the faith KM!
hey can you fix the noise issue around 18:30. the mic gain suddenly increases when there is silence. its very annoying at times.
thank you.
great video. really thought the event was utter BS. with clips popping on social media very randomly.
Thanks for the feedback! Will check it out.
A great story telling again..
Nice
Have just one question
do the car manufacturers listen to your feedback after such an event??
They listen. But, what they do about it - that’s not always universal.
So i am the first freebie Guy here😂😂.
🏆
What do u think if u implement a little code which will see the upcoming traffic and accordingly adjust the headlight brightness else it really annoy. It invites more accident.
There is high beam assist with ADAS systems now. So, problem solved.
It has auto high beam assist in the variants which have auto headlamps
How to work for GPCC ? I want to join them
Kylaq review is not out too. I wonder what criteria u choose to review or ignore a vehicle
Motor is Valeo Siemens! Not just Valeo. But VALEO is 100 years old company. They're doing amazing ADS tech too.
Byd having established a good enough market (for a new company) with the atto 3 having been launched 2 years ago, is the atto 3 a more reliable product for a first time ev owner as compared to 6e and 9e?
The pace at which EVs start feeling give me a pause while considering the atto 3 :/
Could you explain that a bit further? The start up bit?
@motorinc first, you guys are amazing, your reviews are like the final verdict, so thank you :)
I meant that Byd, and especially atto 3 has made a solid presence in the Indian market for a new entrant.
Hi, are you going to upload a video on Skoda Kylaq, love to get your in depth views on it.
Excellent karthik and Shumi..thank you
Just a few requests regarding features on the app. The app has been really good but I'd liketo request for the chapters to be available to skip directly, watch history feature so when you stop mid video and come back, it strats back where it was left. Thanks
Is it safe for others to face BE6 with headlights ON?
😁
You guys are awesome man. Big fan 😁😁
Thank you so much for the encouragement.
59:05 Shumi never miss a chance to troll Ola 😂😂😂 and the bonfire 🔥🔥 one 😂😂😂
