because over 30 of living a civilian life instills a sense of safety. my father does not going around checking for ieds and has gotten himself in some dangerous situations by not being fully aware. its one thing to know you are going into a dangerous situation its another thing completely to have danger sprung on you out of the blue.
😂 I know , right? We can become as evolved as the ascended ancients (from stargate Atlantis) and still you would find people who find pleasure in bullying others.
a better lesson is "don't bully ANY kid," because you don't know what they're going through or what they're capable of. even if you don't buy into the whole "treat others the way you want them to treat you" philosophy, you stand to gain more in life with allies rather than enemies. advancement and success are all about having the right connections, and getting exposure for deplorable acts such as bullying or harassment are easy ways to ruin your life.
@@limmiedee7405 well said, I really don’t understand people who say about a kid being bullied that “ getting bullied will teach him or her to be tough” then when it backfires and something like this happens , they are the first ones to act ignorant or say “ why would he kill those people ?” Or something along the line of “ we don’t know why this happened “.... you allowed the bullies to keep on doing bad things to the person, ... why did you not stop the bullies? Why did you not help the victim get justice ( not revenge) from the bullies?
Honestly, I think it’d be better to just not bully anyone in the first place. I don’t really buy into the whole, “you don’t know what they’re going through” because someone shouldn’t have to be going through anything to be treated with respect. But even if we don’t go into the morals of it all, some of the most abusive people I’ve met in my life are people who are incredibly outgoing and charming to outsiders. Just because someone’s quiet doesn’t mean they’re a threat and just because someone’s outgoing doesn’t mean they’re not.
The best way to escape while being chased is to get out of sight, then hide. Your pursuers are most likely going to assume you'll keep running and keep going after you, which takes them farther away from you, giving you more time to escape while they try to backtrack and spread out to find you. The guy who chose to be hunted should have hid near the house rather than run at all, when the hunters go out to find him he can get back inside knowing the captors have fewer people to guard their captives.
Not a good idea to run back inside the house. Yes, even tho they are less guards, they still have weapons and you don't. And everyone else is tied up. So after you hide on the side of the house, you should wait 10 seconds and wait for the guards to go in a direction, and then you just run in the opposite direction until your safe.

@@egg4792 And you completely missed the point of the movie. Fail. If anyone is a loser its the bullies. They have a better life than the kids they tormented and they still weren't happy unless they bullied someone. Shows how empty they really were as people.
They weren’t wearing masks to hide their identities, the masks are representation of what the bullies turned the outcasts into, Dane even mentioning this in the movie.
Purely from a "how not to get caught later" perspective, keeping the mask on is quite a good idea, I'm pretty sure this could have been HtB's thought process.
I really like how he explains the movie and at the same time helps you "beat it", what there really is to compliment is how SMOOTH that transition from storytelling to sponsoring was, keep it up!
my main confusion is how they tortured and spared their previous victims but killed ravi… like that’s your friend that saved someone who didn’t do anything to you but u kill him instead of locking him away like u did the people who actual set harm against you ? weird
Yeah, they know he did nothing. They could have just plopped him outside, or just tied him up in a different room so he wasn't included They intended to do a suicide pact thing afterwards, so not like they were worried about being caught afterwards

17:19 Shooting at the enemy is still a good choice in most cases. People forget that beyond target accuracy, the target is still a person. Suppressive fire/suppression is a very real thing and while suppressed, the target gets stressed and fear starts to take over, which reduces their accuracy and decision making and forces them to take cover (although it didn't happen in this situation because it's a movie). The kidnappers were driving vehicles while firing, greatly reducing accuracy, so he had a great advantage to fire at a target moving closer. And while the police stat may be true, there's also a need to consider that some of the bullets shot may have been covering fire or suppressive fire. Anyways, great video! :)
Cinema summary always doing the realistic yet in almost every video he forgets that they're literally human, a human who isn't John wick and a person who haven't had experience in doing something like this. Shock stressful and fear is the immediate response making it much more difficult to think effectively in situations like these.
26:30 Curtis: There is a group of black men with guns robbing the house down the road. 26:35 Also Curtis: Proceeds to run back to the house while being a black man with a gun.
I support this movie tbh. I survived my bullies, and survived my trauma to not wish this on them. Still a fun movie though. Would have loved to see more backstory.
Fun fact, the girl bully Emily is a voice actress for anime. She voices Nejire in My Hero Academia, Nagisa in Assassination Classroom, and Kino in Kino's Journey.
24:15 - +Cinema Summary - To me, this was the weirdest part. How come a veteran who fought in Vietnam doesn't subconsciously check for traps and IEDs when stepping into a potentially dangerous area, where people are apparently getting killed? I often chatted with a Vietnam vet when I was in my teens. He used to joke about how his wife is often irritated by the way he checks for exits and (non-existent) traps even when he visits a friend's house. That is how deeply tactical awareness and paranoia are rooted in soldiers who managed to survive the Vietnam war!
I believe there is a line in the movie about how "none of us planned to live to tomorrow" so a lot of comments here aren't applicable. It was always going to end with them getting arrested or committing suicide. The point was to do damage first. They were basically already to the point of suicide and set this whole thing up as a more satisfying way of doing it.
Sailor boy survived out of pure luck. Like he could've gotten away scot free with only mental trauma, but he had to open his mouth AFTER they punished one of the other guys for also speaking up
not to mention he said the dumbest shit considering the situation, like mentioning what they are doing is illegal, ignoring the part where it's obvious they don't give a flying fuck about what the law thinks of what they are doing, bullying isnt exactly allowed itself and why oh why were they taken prisoner again? oh right...
With what happens between Emily and the last living "loser" in the house, I feel like they always intended to either kill themselves or get caught in the end.
He did a nice job with this video. However he left out very important information that the Bullied group gave at the beginning. They tell the bullies that they have no intention of killing any of them in fact they want them to live and learn from the pain they have caused. Also prior to the party the Bullied made a suicide pact. Prior to the party they show each person leaving a note and saying goodbye to their family. That is why he does not mind showing there faces to the captives they wanted them to know who they are. The kid that was given the key to the chains was the Bullied friend. They did not want him there in the first place this was just for the Bullies. This is a very good movie with a powerful message.
Tbh if I was in there I would’ve appealed to Emily. Going by this video, she’s one of the most empathetic kidnappers, along with Jack. Judging by how she was mad at Dane for killing Robbie. By the looks of it she realised early on that this plan didn’t turn out how she hoped. I would’ve used that. It would’ve been easy to turn her against Dane, causing that distrust and split between the Kidnappers that CS talked about.
@@shanewickersham8149 this is actually very critical when he's suggesting an attempt to escape.since the kidnappers have shown they're willing to kill someone that stands in their way or attacks them.
I think the punch bowl wasn’t necessarily out of the ordinary, to be honest. And there’s nothing really out of the ordinary about the party initially either-aside from them not knowing who was throwing the party.
I agree. I haven't been to a house party in years but there was always some form of jungle juice. Which was always in a cooler or something like that but it could have worked in a punch bowl. And if it wasn't a punch bowl I wouldn't have questioned it
Yeah punch bowls made right are really tasty. Also IIRC punch bowls without alcohol are the weird ones. At least from what I've seen in Europe which is where they originated
Yeah, if they're willing to create, print, and distribute custom invitations, the party itself is probably going to be more than just a boombox and a couple kegs of booze.
8 minutes in and the video omits a key point. The five were suicidal and expected to die one way or another by the end of the night. They didn't care about being exposed. They wanted to teach a permanent lesson.
So basically their plan was to win the battle and lose the war? Not a great plan. I mean yeah a lot of these people will have issues to work through, but they'll also be alive. Plus they could easily vent their trauma and frustrations into things like...bullying people. Heck they might have made even more aggressive bullies that will make sure to make life for their future victims even worse to ensure they don't think of ever trying to get payback.
@@Flaris sure, bc the trauma will definitely make you forget about how your targets got revenge on you once. Nice logic. Also, who says the lose the war? It was more like a lose-lose. The bullied would probably have gotten caught anyways
"How would you beat The Final?" Simple, don't be a bully, don't drink drinks at public places as it may be spiked, and don't go to parties in the woods.
When the nerds figured out that Curtis was at the party and after everyone drank the punch and passed out they could have just dragged Curtis’s body to a different location to where he would be safe or at least outside so that way he wouldn’t be chained up with everyone
16:48 cars are NOT bullet proof. Car doors are just made of thin metal and polyester. They will not stop bullets. However the engine block could. But that doesn’t matter in this situation because the kidnappers are approaching from the side of the car. His best choice was to run.
Very much so. Someone who has a justification for vengeance has no limit keeping them in check. The bullies were assholes but they couldn't go too far without risking being found out.
@@stefonrandle9107 not even vengeance just anger there was a slave who was granted their freedom and a plot of land. The very first thing they did was start a farm and get a bunch of slaves. No revenge just anger and a way to make money
The punch bowl is a red flag? Sounds like a stretch to me. Also, cars are poor cover from gunfire. The engine blocks specifically are pretty good, but to get into a car is to potentially seal your fate if the keys aren't in the ignition. Even if they are, if the assailants are close by, you might not even have a chance to get the car started and/or in gear before they attack, so unless the car is running and you have a bit of a head start, you're probably better off just taking the gun and running.
@@DeezNuts-mc2ed For the most part a police car is no different than the same car you can buy from your local dealership. In fact, they are identical to taxi cabs in the sense that they are “fleet cars”. They are built with the “towing package” to be able to run constantly without overheating. Some agencies do have bullet *resistant* kevlar installed in patrol car doors, others do not. It depends on the agency and their budget. Armoring the doors/windows of a police car costs a lot of money; not just to install them, but over time, as the weight reduces fuel efficiency (not to mention vehicle performance). Even armored vehicles will only protect you temporarily as damage accumulates in a shootout. In this kind of survival situation, it's best not to assume that the body of the car will stop bullets, because being wrong will cost you your life, and even if it does, the protection is fleeting, and would only buy you some extra time to say your prayers before your attackers can get to you.
Tbh the party alone would’ve gained them more respect cus everybody had a good time and if you invite everybody then finding out they threw the party; 9/10 gonna ask when the next one

As a texan i can confirm that the gun fact is correct, mostly everyone owns a gun here for self defense or hunting. So Curtis running up to the door with a fucking 9mm in his hand would’ve even made me go grab my weapon. But i sorta understand how he feels at the same time, your adrenaline is pumping inside of you faster than you own thought can process the situation, all he was thinking was”Survive! And possibly find help!” He wasn’t thinking about how to conceal the weapon.
The one thing I remember reading... or hearing from somewhere, is something that can be kinda applied here too. "You can't poison someone at a wedding". Which basically comes down to a few things, one is that you have no idea if the target will eat/drink the poisoned thing. Two: If someone other than the target eats it then it will raise alarms, especially if more than one do it. Three: In the case of #2 happening the effects will start showing up at different times. 4: If it is from a caterer then it becomes near impossible due to time and the amount of things prepared. Basically here is that if you spike something you can't make sure that someone (the nice guy) doesn't also drink/eat from that. Which is one of the points raised in the video
@@dekudeku5520 ...And when the police investigate and suspiciously everyone else is dead but you're not and you're nowhere to be found? That's like the easiest red flag for them. At that point you might as well use a bomb since you obviously don't care about who dies. If you somehow manage to track the catering service that is being used and somehow manage to poison the food... Well, who's to say that that exact food is prepared for your target and not for someone else? they can cater for multiple clients at the same time. Also to access the food you'd need to not be caught in any cameras

I like the movie because the bad guys have actually a good motive that is probably understandable for every teen. I also like their costumes and would love to have the leaders gas mask!
The reason why Curtis didn’t think things through is that, during dangerous situations, the part of our brain that thinks clearly turns off and enters a thing called, “Survival Mode” which makes our thinking very stupid. I learned this from a therapy video I watched. If Curtis calmed down (probably wouldn’t be able to) he would’ve remembered that he had the gun and possibly hid it inside his jacket or something.
It's also because when we are afraid and start to feel fear, that part of the brain doesn't work properly... This is why you shouldn't be wasting your time crying or something in life or death situations and instead *TRY* to calm down...
Ever see the 2 players hold your breath challenge in one of the saw movies (he has so many traps it's impossible to remember where all of them were)? The key to avoid failing is to relax (think the devil's snare from the first Harry Potter), something that's nearly impossible in a life or death situation.

The kidnappers had already planned to end they're lives before when they were done so revealing themselves wouldn't have done anything in a real hostage situation it work but in this specific situation it wouldn't help if they didn't reveal themselves it's a good movie though a little too much torture for me but overall pretty good Edit: also they promised "not to kill anyone but you will wish we had" or something and stated that not everyone was going to get tortured but they will have to watch
I'm not like the losers in the movie, but if they wanted to kidnap and end their lives afterwards, they were greatly affected by the bullying that they didn't think about the aftermath of the situation if everything backfired. Wouldn't the loser's parents or the school get blamed for what happened and the ideas of what the losers did would more likely spread like wildfire because it was reported on the news?
@@eyes0956 that's a really good point i wonder what the aftermath would be i bet the school would get blamed because so many of the kidnapped and all of the losers have that in common they all go to the same school but more anti-bullying and suicide prevention campaigns would start to become more prevalent and it would be considered a horrible tragedy in the city and school but also the parents would have to move because of the ridicule and hate they would receive just my little theory
What the losers did is cause so much damage to the bullys (physically, psychologically, & mentally). Even professional bank robbers wouldn't give that much damage to others. It only causes more trouble with everything. Even if the losers wear masks all the time and let everyone else go, the bullys would still have scars or wounds and eventually, they are still going to snitch to the cops and the losers at school would be their main suspects.

Especially because they are firing rifles at him. Rifles are specifically designed to penetrate targets, and a police door would not stand a chance. It's strange that movies still do this, and people have been shooting up cars with rifles since at least the 20s when mobsters were rolling around with tommy guns. Hell, I remember a bank robbery from a while back where the cops were just demolished because the two robbers had body armor and automatic rifles and the cops only had their cars and pistols as protection and defense and the robbers were tearing the cop cars as well as the cops to shreds.
I think these bullies were incredibly lucky that's all they did to them. The captors made a load of mistakes ( which, as high schoolers, is understandable ) and were pretty uncreative.

I can't feel bad for kids dressed as Nazis. Also, while I wouldn't support this under any circumstances. From what we've seen the bullies never did anything close to as bad as this. These nerds were messed up in the head for reasons beyond bullying.
While I agree with the fact that the bullies didn't do anything in the movie, they never specify how long this has been going on. If it was just one incident, then you're right, but if this was ongoing, that's another story. You're forced to go to a place where not only are you tormented, but no one does anything to help you, or even stop the bullies. This can be further seen when Curtis, the only kid who wanted to be friends with them, was agreed to be left out of the plan, and only was included because they messed up. The nerds were messed up, but they were taking it out on the ones who made them messed up.
@@meriamayari1278 You'd be surprised with how bad bullying can get.
This movie is trash... 🤦

Not a good idea to run back inside the house. Yes, even tho they are less guards, they still have weapons and you don't. And everyone else is tied up.
@@shanewickersham8149 I thought I remembered there being something like that, but wasn't completely sure. Thanks for clarifying.
Tbh if I was in there I would’ve appealed to Emily. Going by this video, she’s one of the most empathetic kidnappers, along with Jack. Judging by how she was mad at Dane for killing Robbie.
I totally agree with u
Police cars have bulletproof doors so you can use that for cover

Why not put poison that’s delayed asf and then once everyone had some to drink just dip ? No body no witnesses. Lmao

That’s how a lot of young murderers do it. These kids, randy stair, Elliot Roger. They all ended their lives after they were sure the did what they had to do. Elliot being the exception he blew his brains out cause he literally had no escape it was either that or life in prison.
I love how he says “okay” every time
As someone who's gotten bullied, turning into a bully doesn't make it any better.
Yes I agree, even though I hvnt been bullied
True, but it's completely okay to get revenge though
@@SashaVulgrr no it’s not, so you agree with the people in the vid? Revenge doesn’t make you feel better in the long term; only a short term pleasure of ‘getting back’, however these people will be left with psychological scars
@Da_Kimster facts.. this is what we need to hear ngl lads
@@whyamitriggered4721 Not everyone is the same person. Some people feel better and some people don't. Not saying it should be encouraged but you can't tell someone what they feel about something if you don't know them.
Idk how I feel about the advice about the car at 16:30. Cops are trained to know that staying in your car during a shootout is a death sentence and the only part of a car that really serves okay cover is the engine block.
True but a literal Vietnam veteran walked into a VIETNAM trap right next to a clearly visible enemy in a open and clear part of the forest
@@exotic1405 would you expect teenagers to be using veitnam war style traps? Or hosting a party to kill a bunch of bullies? I'd be just as skeptical of the situation as the veteran, but in all reality I wouldn't have gone out of my house and just let the cops deal with it
Especially because they are firing rifles at him.
Wym lucky😭😭 one of the boys was literally paralyzed and a girl got hslf her face burne off WHAT IS WORSE
That is the most perfect sponsorship transition I have ever seen 😂
I was totally not expecting Raid Shadow Legends. What an amazing plot twist, thank you Cinema Summary!
Bruh, nobody is going to realistically question an alternate drink at a house party.
I've been to house parties. As a teen and adult. Nobody questions the punch. You know why?
Because the punch is for mixing.
With Alcohol.
Frankly they should've used a kiddie pool, JUNGLE JUICE LETS GO!
Only time I've seen a punch bowl was at weddings and prom dances, and hardly anyone touches it because it's so exposed and that's gross. I beg to differ about nobody questioning the punch, unless your around a bunch of dipshits.
Nice. Saw this movie years ago and to this day, I realize not many people know of it.
You and I both. I never would’ve though he’d cover The Final. I watched this a couple times throughout the past decade. Recently watched two months ago.
This is the first time I'm hearing of it. Though I recognize the curly haired guy from degrassi lol
@@brittanycampbell2063 I personally recommend watching it before this video if you can. I’ve always thought this movie should get more praise and recognition.
4:17 you’re not expecting raid, shadow legends
Best way to start my day off. This channel, nerd explains and binge express have became my favorite channels to watch.
Great review, definitely a core memory from childhood. However, something worth note is that a car offers next to no protection against bullets. The only actual cover is going to be behind the engine block, the rest will be cut through like cheese
It's nice to see him standing on both sides of the coin for once. On one hand, you feel for the losers, on the other however... maybe brutally slaughtering your bullies isn't the perfect way to go with...
I don’t feel bad for them at all. They are 100x worse than the bullies. They killed that cop who had no involvement and one another.
@Ravetastic. definitely, especially if the location is in the middle of the woods and the host is anonymous . i would also wear a bulletproof vest underneath so incase i get shot, it’ll cause less damage

Yo! I love The Final. One of the first Indie movies I ever watched. I recommend this one! I’m so happy he covered it! What a good way to start the morning. This was a very good movie, in my opinion. Not perfect, but I loved the plot and execution. This one is a hidden gem.

13:03 they weren't wearing traditional handcuffs, but leather ones, that must be attached through their "D" links. If padlocks were the case, passing the key probably wouldn't work. But as can be seen in scenes before, the cuffs were connected using an open/close ratchet (like the ones available in the gym to hang the support bars, forgot the name exactly), "in reality" they weren't even trapped to begin with.
In universe, they were. But in reality, the actors gotta get up and move around frequently for new shots or bathroom or retouching makeup/costume. Same logic with the Saw carousel
@@ahstiasummers5583 Given just how long a day on set can take, that makes sense.
About that sailor luering the captors to be ambushed: Most "normal" people freze in situations like that. Ive had to literally push people forwards who knew in advance what would happen if they are not carefull and follow orders, so i would not put much trust in terrifed teens. They shake and cant hold a weapon.

that was hilarious. good plug.
I love how you’re talking about how to both kill and not be killed in the most effective way just casually
Look man, I really hate when people interrupt their videos to pedal something, but I'll actually listen to your interior pitch because of how well you integrate them into the piece. With this one in particular the suddenness made me laugh out loud. It's a weird compliment, but good job.
Then why don't you just watch the movie instead of watching something like this?
@@magnedeusfenrir9582 agreed, just skip forward a few seconds. youtubers gotta get money somehow
people need to get that bread; you’re selfish, basically telling someone you’re annoyed because they’re trying to make some money
as someone’s already pointed out above: skip forward a couple of seconds or go watch the movie and you won’t be interrupted by anyone or anything
17:41 (and multiple other times) It is quite interesting to see that they are probably using electricity to see off charges for the muzzle flash for theatrics, at first I was like "why are their tazzer wires hanging of what is suppose to be a gun?" then I realized "oh they must be actually setting off some type of firework to make the muzzle flash as a pose to adding it in post" which does seem like it would be easier to edit due to the lighting being more correct, it is just weird that they didn't edit out the wires to fire the explosive for the final product.

6:35 i never expected the SS uniform
@@chrisengland3798 there's no amount of bullying that would make sm1 plan a murder part AND shoot an innocent cop
@@chrisengland3798 Dude please... murdering someone because they threw milk at you is ridiculous, the losers are psychopaths
@@meriamayari1278 You'd be surprised with how bad bullying can get. I mean I've seen people get molested and raped, get their hair burnt and cut off, beat constantly, belited, bones brokened, stabbed, jumped, put in near death situations, blamed for things they didn't do, discriminated against and all and all making people feel like they are worth mothing and putting them in a state of mind you wouldn't want your enemies to be in and are never sorry for what they did. So despite how you feel, there is a degree of bullying that deserves torture as retaliation but obviously you're to one sided to see this. Also their original plan wasn't to kill people, it was to torture them. Very big difference, you should learn it just for future's sake. Though I will say the lead "nerd" was horrible.
@@yougsa No, he's not too one sided, you are.. The movie doesn't show ANYTHING to the degree that you're talking about. You're talking about very apparent crimes, not delinquent bullying. They also planned to torture and kill them.
