3:00 - "He's not going to get selected" for jury service. Here in the UK, the jury is chosen at random by an impartial process and that is that. The lawyers have no say at all about which members of the public form a jury - in fact no-one does, not even the judge, unless he finds some legal reason why they shouldn't be on a jury and then he has them removed and replaces them with another randomly selected person. They remain anonymous until the end of the trial, when they are free to tell the press, etc, about themselves if they wish, though few do. It seems ludicrous to us that juries are basically interviewed by defense and prosecution and then whittled down to a chosen few. Of course, this does all mean that the likes of Jeremy get to judge people legally!
i myself would always say not guilty and refuse to budge
@@phreshkandy478 Fred West, Jeffrey Dahmer and Adolf Eichmann would all have loved your stance!
Yes, you could be excluded due to knowing someone involved in the case, because it'd make you biased.
@@phreshkandy478 Why?
@@phreshkandy478 Don't get on any serial killers/rapists/child molesters cases then, ffs. In fact, don't get on any jury.
Fun fact, the gay druggy guy that they throw out is the lead child actor from muppets: treasure island
There is a recent series on channel 4 here called "The Jury: Murder Trial" where people were selected to sit on two "juries" for the same case (a dramatic recreation of a real case), to see how the jury act and if they both reach the same decision- as people aren't screened out in the UK like they are in the USA, some of their experiences and biases and they way they let small things influence them or would pick a viewpoint and refuse to budge despite evidence, was honestly terrifying! Never want to end up infront of a jury after watching it!
I did Jury Service and it ended up being 3 days of doing crosswords and reading newspapers and 2 days of an uninteresting case. They let us go after the first week.
I’ve been dragged along to nightclubs without wanting to. My get-out is saying I’m going to the toilet but I head straight for the exit instead. Then I go to a proper pub, With good Guinness, good music and a pool table. 👌
no logo in the foam
A classic move. Known as an Irish goodbye
@@markdonovan8884I love that name for it 😂😂 and that it even has a name in the 1st place lol
@@markdonovan8884as a Dubliner - my usual exit.
It's so funny to me that when I first watched this in my 20s I was laughing at Mark as just a buffoonish comedy character when he shuts down the party, and now that I'm past 40 I'm cheering him on lol. Could this be the sign of a "timeless" show that I find it funny in different ways as I get older?
That’s a sign that it’s really well written, also the fact that we can relate to them aswell in different ways. It’s weird, I relate so much to Mark in this I feel personally attacked! 😂
The bouncer was on the first episode of the inbetweeners boys
I like the analysis boys, don't stop! You definitely don't over do it. And Peep Show has so many funny lines and characters, ya gotta talk about it :)
YES!! It's a belter of an episode. Love it.
All of s3 is great.
One of my favourite episodes. Jail house rock 👍🏻
Brilliant fellas😂😂been called for jury duty so many times but never been as I am in one of the professions that have automatic exemption from attending👍🏽and please analyse all you want, we’ve seen it a million times and want to see and hear all that you think about it❤️❤️
Oh dear I watch this unable to turn away from the slow car crash that is Peep Show watching Jeremy and Mark ruin every good thing and they do it so well
I've faced a jury a couple of times 🤣
It took me the whole episode to notice "Tis Jez Copyright Reasons" hahaha
Jez doing his anti Henry Fonda. 😂👍🏽👍. Great reaction.
Still got to do
- Alan Partridge meets Martin Brennan - Coogan wanted to see if he could get it past the BBC - watch and see.
- WILTY - lost my teeth at Glastonbury, even better than Bob Mortimer.
You boys watching Brit humor is class. Ta.
Well spotted on wills dad 👍🏻
I know this isn’t related to Peep show in any way but you guys need to start watching Plebs!
I was just watching it and thought it’s definitely something you need to react to.
I do agree with Mark. But i have been the lads at the party and honestly i miss it a little... not allot but a bit.
The constantly trying to get more to prolong the inevitable come down is depressing enough nevermind the couple of days after of feeling, shame, guilt, uselessness, dirty, confusing and just straight up depression..
I do find heroin helps so i have started on that recently...can't imagine they'd be any draw backs.
Lads hello from Northern England you need to review FREDS LAST CHIMMINY.
I worked as a doorman at gay club for a while, l had that conversation a few times.
Carla is too bad even for Jez!
I love how most people Jeremy encourages become ‘too much!’
That whole mark rant is arguably the funniest scene in the the entire show (though there are many)
Your starting comment about people you don't want on a jury got me thinking, and the one person I would both love and hate to be on a jury with would have to be...Robin Williams.
Why I'd love to have him on the same jury as myself? Simple: because he's a riot!
Why I'd hate to have him on the same jury as myself? Because everybody else on that jury (most likely myself, included) would be part of the longest-deliberating jury in history as we went day after day of Robin Williams' stand-up.
Love Peep Show but this is easily my least-favoirite episode. The A plot is based around this insulting stereotype of a criminal scouse woman, and the B plot is a wasted opportunity, what would Mark be like if he took the E? We might find out something about him instead of having to listen to his smug conservative speech about "the miracle of consumer capitalism" - there are some funny jokes here but the episode just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
She's definitely not scouse, she's from gateshead.
