Wow, this kind of festival makes life more exciting! Martin, you were obviously happy....it radiated to us.... the positive vibration and energy were infectious! But the sudden slap of face painting was the climax of it all...it was CRAZY!
Glad you enjoyed your first Sinulog experience Martin. That is normal in the Philippines. You can sneak in to any house if you say you want to use their bathroom. And the way that family treated you like a celebrity is just an amazing scene. Happy also to hear you are going to the Dinagyang festival. Next is the Flower festival in Baguio on Feb 29. Dinagyang and Panagbenga Festival in Baguio are much safer and less noise but equally amazing festival.
