    Not gonna lie, that food looks slammin' 5:56. You know it's going to be good because everything is absolutely glistening. Also, Cebu has the best food in all of the Philippines. I'm Filipino American and grew up eating Filipino food at home and going to Filipino Restaurants in the States, but I was never blown away until I went to Cebu. All the best cooks are in Cebu.

      @Funky Child....That's absolutely true. Because all the popular dishes (e.g. bulalo, sisig, lechon, tinolang manok/isda, adobo, etc.) that most Luzon and Metro Manila people brag about don't actually compare to what Cebuano people do in their style of preparation and the use of ingredients. So I agree with your observation.

    Gosh Mergim you are so busy with you’re travel vlogs and you must’ve been stuffed! Sisig, Adobong Kangkong, Sinigang, Calamares and Lechon is a lot to eat. You missed Puto Bumbong you’re favorite! We saw it from when they showed you Halo-Halo. So happy to see you back in Cebu! We’re actually from there but live now in 🇺🇸. We actually asked friends and family to subscribe to you because you’re different from any other vlogger. You work hard and research for every content you show us. Keep safe and enjoy the Queen City of the South.

    @house of lechon's lechon is sourced from Carcar in the south of Cebu - that's why it's soooo good.

    Mergim -- It appears Songkran and Sinulog share the theme of renewal. So wonderful to see people celebrating post COVID. And of course, always happy to see the Chairman of BGC represent.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Rizaldo Padilla...Sinulog is not a celebration of renewal or life's renewal. Sinulog is all about 'a dance of either being grateful to God (represented by Holy Infant Jesus) or asking favor from God. It's definitely not comparable to Songkran in Thailand. If there is ever a festival in the Philippines that is comparable to Songkran, it is the Easter Festival as Catholics celebrate the risen Jesus Christ and most faithfuls consider it as a 'new life's beginning' after the Christ's ressurrection from the dead.

    • @get2riz
      @get2riz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lionhearted1969 Thank you for your correction. Surely the theme of "renewal" can apply to both. I'm taking its meaning as "inclusive" as opposed to "exclusive". Never have I participated in Sinulog nor Songkran. Albeit, both looks to be terrific street parties that I wish to be attending someday.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@get2riz Again, 'renewal' can't be applied to Sinulog. That's all. 🙂

    The "sauce" that is served with the lechon is the juice oozing out of the lechon. You can add that to your rice. Some sip it like soup.
    Some add a bit of soy sauce, vinegar, calamnsi

    *house of lechon* is actually my number 1
    2nd would be lechon from carcar (2 hours away from the city)
    rico's lechon is 3rd
    i'm fond of crispy, crunchy lechon skin
    the crispier, the cruncher, the better
    hats off to the *house of lechon*
    they're the winner in that crispy lechon skin department

    Mergim, the trick in mixing halohalo is to just get the spoon down to the bottom and then keep it moving down there, in a stirring motion until the ice loosens up, melting away and you have all the ingredients swirling around, enough to be able to now raise the spoon and mix thoroughly with an up and down motion.

    What a life, flying from one big city to another in Asia, and experiencing the best of what the country has to offer, yes Songkran was fun but Philippine festivals are more fun as Pinoys know how to celebrate better, just check the calendar for the upcoming ones.
    I like House of Lechon the best among others because of the food options, not so busy location and friendly staff, makes me come back for another round of lechon, enjoy mate...
