Love the new path with the slabs on it,good idea Emma 👌 think about storing your tools in the shed or they are going to rot in no time,l see they are all over your plot and will be expensive to replace.Them weeds, bind weed and stuff are coming up so easy... Good timing ....get them all out if you can.Doing a cracking job sweetie ❤
I was thinking the same about the tools rusting. Maybe a few hooks/nails just inside the shed door would make for easy storage without getting too close to the lovely spiders in there 😁
Emma you work so hard, 10 out of 10 for enthusiasm. It would be nice if someone could take all you rubbish away for you. Never give up you are an inspiration to Newby allotment holders. I've been gardening and growing on and off since I was 15 when I got my 1st greenhouse and I'm now in my mid 70s but still learning.
Wow, you are a hard worker! I really doubted the possibility of having the whole new plot ready for spring but you did it! Great idea to use the slabs on a main pathway leading between the two plots, it's going to look fantastic. I'd put wood chip down first, however, to help stabilize them, them put the slabs on top. As soon as you try to wood chip around them as they are now, the wood chip will simply cover the slabs over. Also, the slabs will simply swim in bog during future heavy rains without something under them to help absorb water.
Oh emma 😂 you are hilarious! I love you! The music you use for your little comedy clips is brilliant. I laugh so hard!. You have worked so so hard, I take my hat off to you for your determination. Well done girl, I hope it pays off for you this year. You deserve it.🙌
I am absolutely floored by how much you have gotten done on that plot! I hope I can get as much done on my own yard this year! Also you are so funny, I love watching your videos, thanks so much for putting the time and effort into sharing it with us!
Can’t believe how much rain you have had, it’s strange how your first plot is not water logged like the new one, can’t wait to see your first years harvest on the new plot 👍
Wow! that's a shed load of water, it's good that you can see where your new allotment will flood before your beds are set up, it's still looking great though, can't wait to see how it comes along, big licks from Colin the dog
So enjoy your videos. I want to share with you a tool I bought last year that has been so helpful. It is the “root slayer” from gardeners supply. Believe me it is worth the investment and will help you with those brambles. Keep up the good work you inspire me.
Mud pie season😁 Might be safer to place the slabs closer together, it's going to be dodgy jumping between them carrying watering cans or in the evening when you're packing up as it gets dark..
That will take only about ten years. You obviously don`t reside in UK as councils will not let us dispose of this kind of rubbish in our household rubbish. It has to go to the tip.
SPRING IS COMING!!! 💐 Feel like you should play hopscotch on your new pathway. 😂 V creative. I had a few slabs I found on my plot and did the same but wood chipped it all first then put the slabs down. Are you chitting your potatoes soon?? -x🤣
Fabulous vlog as alwayZ Emma, thank you, The progress you are making to your new plot is amazing, Well done Keep on inspiring others on your allotment journey , It gives me so much motivation for my new plot and how I'm planning it all out etc, My mum bought me your planner for Christmas and it's such a help , Have a magiKal weekend x
Your island gets quite a bit of rain and the clay soil is boggy to walk through. I can see why Wellie’s are so Brit. Your fox likes you Emma! Perhaps you should give him a name? I think you do a great job of leveling your plots Emma. I love the slab placement. You WILL be ready for Spring. Thank you for sharing! Cindy from America. 🙋🏻♀️
Bulbs are very hardy, my garden floods quite often as we are by a river, it amazes me that my bulbs arestill growing after being under five feet of flowing water for a few days and pooled water for weeks yet every year there they are in spring. I do try to keep off the soil until it has drained.
Our high for today is supposed to be -9 F which i believe is around -23 C. Thanks for providing great videos that take me into the garden even when that's impossible for me to actually do where I'm at in the world.
I know you haven't been working on the plot long and have already come a really long way but is there a way to haul off all the junk lying around? Wet ground is so much easier to pull things like that out for sure!
Positve thinking is that u pulled the ground sheet up in time imagine how much more puddleyer (is that a word haha) it would of been and the ground props lov s it
Also, remember, with plastic under the woodchip, rain water will sit on to because it can't get through it. Yes, definitely, the woodchip is / has helped. I've heard and read it so many times don't dig or plant when the ground is that bad its not good for the soil. I've also heard it on gardens world but I can understand why your doing it now.
You will just have to wait until it naturally drains away. It was inevitable that places would be flooded the amount that came down. We are in the north east, mines on a slope and it still floor where the beds are level.
Emma, could it possibly be that the water is there all over you plot but it’s just below the surface (as seen with the boggy woodchip)? Do you have heavy (clay) soil? If so how deep is the clay? Are there any ditches on the whole allotment area? You are doing well and I have subscribed after watching for a few videos :)
Water/rain well tell you high and low spots, your garden is obviously higher than surrounding plots, have just put a tunnel house on the lowest point of the garden, so that's going to be interesting next winter. Garden in New Zealand so its summer now. 31 degree day today.
@@felicitywoodruffe4087 no, but a lot of towns and cities have community gardens. Sections are getting tiny, live on a farm so produce most of our vegetables and fruit from rhubarb late October to mandarins August with every small berry you can name, plums, apples, peaches and pears, experimenting with figs, have a few nut trees as well.
Just my opinion but would a fork be easier to dig the ground? I do! If you hadn’t removed that enormous amount of ground sheeting your allotment would be totally under water x
You should contact your local council to come out and cut down those large trees. They shouldn't be in an allotment. Also use those pallets to build A fence at the back of the new plot. Drive two long stakes the width of the pallet and set it on its edge over the top of them. Hide all the rubbish behind!
Why not just get rid of the rubbish? It looks awful and just putting up old pallets isn't gonna fix the problem or look very good, in my opinion which in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean much.
It's looking really good...have a look at how to build drainage swales on Google because making one big one at your plot could solve any water issues and potentially supply your plot with water in a more controlled fashion. X good work.
The opportunities for “squelching” asmr are endless! 🤣🤣🤣😜😜😜

I always think the tools may get 'borrowed without permission'. Great use of the slabs 👍
I love your vlogs not only for the laughs but also for your inspiration
Very nice Mother Nature softening up the ground for you to pull out the bind weed. She must like what you are creating. ❤

Yum mud pies 😊

You’re getting very brave about spiders now!
Brilliant work Emma 🎉🎉🎉
I am absolutely floored by how much you have gotten done on that plot! I hope I can get as much done on my own yard this year! Also you are so funny, I love watching your videos, thanks so much for putting the time and effort into sharing it with us!
Great idea with those concrete slabs 😃
great use of found materials, .Emma! You have done an amazing amount of work on the second plot. Your persistence is paying off. ❤️
Can’t believe how much rain you have had, it’s strange how your first plot is not water logged like the new one, can’t wait to see your first years harvest on the new plot 👍
At least you know where all the low spots are now 😅
Your doing do well and the brambles came up a lot easier for you and I love the music makes me giggle
The plot is coming along so well. The satisfaction must be immense. 🎉
hey when you have a flooded area,,use your garden fork to make many deep fork holes to allow excess water to drain away.good luck.
Wow! that's a shed load of water, it's good that you can see where your new allotment will flood before your beds are set up, it's still looking great though, can't wait to see how it comes along, big licks from Colin the dog
Your allotment neighbours will be so surprised in the spring when they see all you've done... unless they are following online 🤣 Looking good 👍
Weeding is so easy after rainfall 🌿🌿🌿
You always share fun videos with us and I appreciate every minute of it. I always look forward to watching your new videos❤❤❤
I always weed after a good rail. The ground is more malleable and it works great!
🐝 Thanks for the great video 🌻
You have done so much to the new plot. I'll have to go and binge the videos I've missed.
So enjoy your videos. I want to share with you a tool I bought last year that has been so helpful. It is the “root slayer” from gardeners supply. Believe me it is worth the investment and will help you with those brambles. Keep up the good work you inspire me.
You are doing so well on your new pot .Well done😂
Mud pie season😁 Might be safer to place the slabs closer together, it's going to be dodgy jumping between them carrying watering cans or in the evening when you're packing up as it gets dark..
Emma check out lovely greens if you haven’t already for building a dead hedge! 👍
Just think all them people with plastic sheets the water won't drain! At least you pulled yours up
Can you take a little bit of garbage home each week and put it in your home garbage ? Then it would all be gone.
That will take only about ten years. You obviously don`t reside in UK as councils will not let us dispose of this kind of rubbish in our household rubbish. It has to go to the tip.
I love the new pathway through the trees. Great idea
Have a great weekend Emma
Allotment coming along great ,
.looking forward to spring and watching what u plant
No Einstein today 😢 hope to see him again next week. Have a great weekend
😄I was looking out for the little fella too
I love your channel and I love what you’re doing to allotment❤️
SPRING IS COMING!!! 💐

Wow thats a lot of rain 😞 love the new path i can see some lively little flowers running along the edge, fab vlog Emma 🥰
You done really well love the allotments and watching your videos .x
If you’ve got a water butt you could fill it from your wheelbarrow and other pots. You can always add nettles to make a feed for your veggies x
You are one determined woman , well done
Brilliant, full of admiration. Buy a spider dispenser to pick them up with and put them on the allotment. They really work. X
Well done Emma these plots are going to be AWESOME xx🧡💙💜❤💛💚xx
Fabulous vlog as alwayZ Emma, thank you,
The progress you are making to your new plot is amazing,

He's already got a name. He's called foxy (short for Mr fox) 🦊
O wow you certainly get stuck in, certainly not a fair weather gardener!!😄
Fantastisch Good work Emmas thans te video Rot weer 😅te Regen Good weekend ❤☕️🔥🧤🧹👍🌾🌿🌥
Fabulous progress Emma, I can’t wait to start sowing!!
I would put deeper raised beds in those flooded areas (7 inches or more). Keep the wood chips coming for your walkways. It's looking good.
Planted my hyacinth and daffodils this week! Made bird feeders too
Thanks for the tips, just going to go up to our new allotment buzz

Don't think you should have worn a white sweatshirt for that job Emma! Good work tho! You got lots done and the new plot is nearly there.
Great progress Emma, you are working so hard! Im inspired to get on my plot and sort some jobs out too!😊
Great inspiration Emma, my daughter and I have had an allotment for 6 weeks and it’s coming along slowly, you have encouraged us a lot .
Our high for today is supposed to be -9 F which i believe is around -23 C.
Thanks for providing great videos that take me into the garden even when that's impossible for me to actually do where I'm at in the world.
My plot has been waterlogged like this all winter. Very annoying 😂 can’t even get my wheelbarrow across without it getting completely stuck
Have a wonderful weekend Emma
Great job Emma! 😊
I know the feeling with the rain, here in the North East it feels like its been non-stop.
I know you haven't been working on the plot long and have already come a really long way but is there a way to haul off all the junk lying around? Wet ground is so much easier to pull things like that out for sure!
Sounds like a well under that dug out patch 😆
Great job emma😊
Muddy puddles .. Peppas happy

Snow drops in Glasgow

Hi Emma looking good. I think the word you are looking for in clay. Anthony from South Africa Western Cape
If the flooding persists you might look at growing rice . Lots of videos on YT.
Can't do much today 😕
💚💚💚How many days do these puddles go away?💚💚💚

Once you get all your rubbish together, could you get a skip delivered and get rid of your rubbish all in one go?
Water/rain well tell you high and low spots, your garden is obviously higher than surrounding plots, have just put a tunnel house on the lowest point of the garden, so that's going to be interesting next winter. Garden in New Zealand so its summer now. 31 degree day today.
Do you have allotments in New Zealand ?
@@felicitywoodruffe4087 no, but a lot of towns and cities have community gardens. The fact that you’re mostly no-dig means the water will drain well
Transform the boggy spot into a bog garden?
Its looking amazing. How long have you got until you have to start sowing seeds?
Hallo
Where are your long rubber boots? Wellies
they would have been better.
Just my opinion but would a fork be easier to dig the ground? I do! If you hadn’t removed that enormous amount of ground sheeting your allotment would be totally under water x
😍
Why do you not wear wellies the boots you have on looks like your all day ones not working boots still A really good vlog again
We had more rain in one day than what you would get in 5 years.
I need to know how flooded Gary’s plot is!!🤔🤓😆
Can Gary swim ?
@@felicitywoodruffe4087 I hope so!😆
You shouldn’t walk on very wet soil as it destroys the bacteria in it.. and the soil could die. ❤
I can hear the allotment screaming “Go home Emma it’s too wet”
Upend your wheelbarrow. Birds can't see still water and can easily drown,
