    If there was ever such a thing as "Love at first sight" in the world of campers, then this one got me. I first saw it last year and didn't think I was going to like it. Then... I stepped inside
    I realized instantly I had an attitude about this layout for no good reason because I absolutely LOVE the way it's arranged. It's almost like a classic ultralite bunkhouse layout with a modern deep-slide twist.
    The big OPEN space is fantastic when you have a bunch of people running around but frankly I could see this one working for someone who doesn't even care about the bunks -- it's just a GREAT layout
    & the Patio side is dressed to the 9's with windows, doors, and a camp kitchen on nearly every available inch of space!
    Please take a moment to compare vs. the "Black Label Edition" and let me know what you think at

    I really like the big camp side window. one of my biggest complaints with trailers is the lack of camp side windows.

      I love how the couch and table are opposite of each other. Makes it feel more "homey.* 😅
      As opposed to where the couch is right next to the table. I don't know, I just prefer this set up best. We walked into a few other forest river models and other models that weren't forest rivers and in most of them, the couch was right next to the table and it just didn't feel as "homey" which is what I was going for when shopping for a camper. So that's what sold us on this 2022 274BRB. Plus the top bunk had a window which was huge for the kids. It doesn't open which I was kinda upset about but not a deal breaker. I've had my model for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it!! The holding tanks are a little small but nothing that's not manageable, especially if you're hooked up in a campground or RV park.
      4 kids 1 adult, I empty the black tank maybe twice a month. So not horrible, the gray tank though we empty twice as often. Probably 4 times a month. Since I'm still spoiled from home living and do dishes like I have city storage. 😅🤦🏻‍♀️ Gotta turn off the water more often when doing dishes. 😅
      The one thing I would say that you are going to want to replace ASAP is the hot water heater.
      That thing is so damn small you will be lucky to get a 7 min shower. I'm used to military showers, under 5 minutes but with 4 kids it makes showering like a 2-3 hour ordeal. 🤦🏻‍♀️
      Having to wait for the thing to warm up more water for the next kid. Takes roughly 20 minutes for it to heat up the tank again, because it's so small. But that is the one thing that's on my list of things to replace right out of the gate. Haven't found one I can recommend yet. If anyone else has this model, and has replaced their hot water heater please let me know what you chose. I really want an on demand one but the small ones for campers are expensive! On demand water heaters are already pricey AF but it is necessary

    If you moved the sofa you could use that space for a desk and look out at your campsite, and the kids could be out doors on i n the dinette and the sace under the buck could be a large dog kennel!!!

    There is no better "entry level" brand than Cherokee. They're always making new, innovative floorplans. Sometimes they work, some times they don't, but it's always something interesting, something new. For a "cheap" camper, they sure stand out at a campground.

      We ordered a rear living room (264RL) Cherokee in 2013. Pulled it 18K miles and used it 250 nights so far. Not trouble free, but I've been able to fix most issues except the sagging suspension (upgraded from 3500 to 5400 axles,springs,tires,brakes). We go to the RV show every year and haven't found one that fits our needs any better. As you say, it is a very good entry-level camper.

      This layout is flat out awesome. It does everything I would really want and then some
      I'd like the longer queen, but I can make do on a camp queen for a weekend. My wife is smaller and has no issues there
      Though she'd prefer a king to make room between us as I tend to be a bed hog lol

  • @ConservatEV
    @ConservatEV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I’d replace that couch with a couple of recliners, I know my son and his buds would want that to set up their XBoxes at the TV (which, hey, if it’s rainy will be happening.) I’d prefer an open closet to the shelves they have in the bedroom (again, gun safe, we do shooting comps) and why isn’t that under-bunk storage accessible from inside? That’s a great pass-through opportunity! Support for the bunk maybe? I dunno.
    But I like it a lot. Basically we’d be likely to use it at shooting comps with another shooter/his father with us. Plenty of room for
    us all (provided the boys fit in the bunks) and everything we’d need. This is definitely going into the “must check out” pile! That pile is kinda crowded, lots of great options! This one is high on the list now though.

    Love the entry doors. The ceiling power must be for a wall mount TV.
    I like the floor plan, at first the entry door on the bathroom was strange but the more I think about I like the idea of people not having to go through the trailer to get to the bathroom while camping.

    It’s a nice trailer however no ladder and an awning that doesn’t cover both doors would be a dealbreaker for me
    Also while I have your attention I think every RV should have the 12 VDC refrigerator
    What with the batteries we have now and the use of the solar package it only makes sense to save your propane for heating and cooking
    I would go so far to say even the water heater should be electric only
    Thank you very much for your videos they are very entertaining

    • @bond008a9
      @bond008a9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only problem with electric only water heaters is they increase the liklihood of tripping a breaker if running AC microwave etc. Electric water heater pulls about 7 amps alone. We use electric a little but mostly propane as it heats quicker and hotter

The things they are doing are GREAT!

    We bought a Grey Wolf out of oppurtunity and chance a few years ago (wasnt the trailer we set out to buy initially). After working out the new trailer kinks they all have, and now that we have sold it and are shopping for an upgraded unit, I'm actually regretting the sale. I cant complain the price we got (used it HEAVILY for 4 years and sold it for $1500 less than we paid new), but were having a hard time finding anything that works/feels as good as what we had without stepping up to a 5th wheel. LOVE this model and its on our radar now!

  • @JasonJonesPhotography

    The power outlet in the cieling is for a floor stand fan or lamp so cord isnt running along floor (at least in my mind). We had a floor stand fan to circulate air in our grey wolf (23dbh) that didnt have that plug. We were in AZ in the summer so a fan in addition to AC was a must. ALL 5 OF US tripped over the cord, no matter how much extension cord I used.I would have loved to had that plug up there!

    You've got a point about this layout, Josh. The sitting space is the star of the show in this unit. With the overall layout that the manufacturer decided to go with, it's pretty darned good. It's not for me, but I can see how this will appeal to a lot of people. Especially because of the bunks.
    Personally, I have no use for the bunks; and if I owned one of these, I'd convert the bunk area into a small home office.
    😋👍
    In any case, this unit is quite spacious for it's size. A good family camper! Not so much a 24/7 x 365 unit.
    I think they've thought this one out well.

    Nice trailer, really cool camp side window. Awning should be longer; Instead of grill, shower, mini fridge and ice maker struggling in one place ( Water, propane, heat from grill and electricity, not a good combination ) It should have a tall fridge, ice maker and a drawer under the icemaker.

    Recently bought this model. Pretty nice. The window in the bathroom door kind of odd. The outdoor kitchen has no separation the the inside besides cabinet door under sink. When cooking on the griddle/grill the smoke can pass right to the inside. Also bugs can go right through. Great video though. You are the only video that I saw on this model that mentions that when using the griddle you cannot open the outside fridge.

    That is very similar to our 26DBH obviously. The layout on this one I love and the bigger windows in the Litchenroom < Living room / kitchen. The fact they put their Greystone griddle in rather than the grill we have on the 26DBH, I like. We bought a Blackstone and wished it would work inside that area.
    What I didn’t like just as soon as you enter the Litchenroom from the outside door, a vent register right in the middle walkway! That was quite honestly, crazy. Vents should be against walls/baseboards.
    As to the upper outlet on the ceiling…..great place for a above head motion night light as one walks from the bedroom to the bathroom.
    The master bedroom and that opposed extra closet space is ingenious! And the fact it is door entry rather than the slide doors, you get that open wall for placing a tv.
    If this one had been around when we bought back in January, I would have opted for it even though a few things like vents in travel lanes.
    Great review!

    Way cool!!! The fridge on the other side also creates the cooking triangle most chefs say is the best cooking arrangement! Totally agree on the TV. I wouldn't have one except my hubby wouldn't come along if I didn't!! Haha. But, I'd totally put a swing arm TV mount before bringing in the TV. Guess for the plug, bedroom TV or you could put a fan up there? I'd be putting a fan, or ordering a window that would open for that upper bunk! Great convertible griddle/grill!!! Great conversion suggestions at the end!!! Having those bunks that can be put back in and the desk gives folks options and listing that in your ad will sell your used RV long before others! You've doubled your potential buyer pool (with and without kids/grands)!!! Love your reviews, keep up the good work!!!! If you ever get the chance on your used inventory and have an "Outdoors RV" come in, check them out!!! I have ordered one as I truly believe it's one of the best built, best values, best boondocking models made!

Load it with a 1000lbs of crap like everyone else in the world and you'll be well within your tow ratings.

    Hmm, I like the bigger pantry compared to my 26dbh and that large window on the camp side, however I like having the fridge next to the stove/counter in mine. For both, I wish they put shades on that upper bunk window. For privacy, and occasionally moon light or yard lights at campgrounds will shine through. And yes, the doors definitely need to come with the shade, super cheap thing to add in, but would be nice if it just came with them!

    This trailer is too big for my tow capacity, but if I were in this market sector this is a great floorplan. I wish it had a bit more fresh water capacity and (at least the option for) a roof ladder. Also, I'd love to see an access door (instead of a storage door and window above) to access the bunk area from the outside...but even better would be to leave the window and storage access door on the side and add a big access door on the back (with the ability to flip up one or both bunks) to provide direct access to store bikes or create a pet area when not using the bunks!

  • @stephenbeale9520

    You really can't see through the door glass. I know I can't see anything from outside on my Cherokee Grey Wolf 23DBH. A couple things I have been wondering, What is the little black box on the wall on the left side by the bed, and does my model have a walkable roof?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 ปีที่แล้ว
