Wow I honestly did not know that 0.5 damage leaks through the defense matrix per hit. I guess it acts like armor where at least 0.5 damage gets through. I played this game for like 15 years and I did not know that!!!
@@JokeFranic I agree. It's stupid to just make the units invincible. I also thought D matrix just instantly added 250 HP but if it's a 1 HP unit if will die instantly. That explains why sometimes I'll shoot a tank with like 4 goons as it's D matrixed and it will still die.

Every attack does 0.5 damage no matter what if the armor is greater, but one thing people don't know is that in BW there's actually decimil points of damage like when you add concussive damage it will do like 1.335 damage. I tested it and it does calculate an extra damage every 3 hits. They really made BW a math game.
the clean movement lines across 3 player maps don't stay proportionate to the main base locations, you get pockets and hot spots that make moving across the map, and engaging in the middlem, far more dynamic
Zerg countering SK Terran with rushing up to Lurker Defiler might be why Flash is actively doing mech builds against Zerg, reading the shift in playstyles before trends like this gain a lot more traction on the ladder.
Hey Artosis. I know it's completely based on brackets and very unpredictable, but can you please do a video of who you think will qualify for the next season of SSL? You started casting Speed and then Speed made it. You were casting more Motive and then he made it. Next might be Rich, but it would be fun to do a prediction video.
1:20 the structure of the center of dominator and the positioning of and access to bases around the rim is really nice and generally creates good games in all non-mirrors. the south base gas being very close to the ramp is probably the biggest problem with the map; and that's really not a bad thing to be the worst part of a map. 4:19 so i agree with RT that a soft moveout to get a couple of sunks to be made and then turn around WOULD be good here, but then we see rush go medic/firebat rather than double medic. if he DOES move out with this, what i've noticed from FPVoDs... he will have that 1 medic and no more for a LONG time. when you move out you must build a pair of firebats to hold a ling counter. then you must build a pair of marines to protect your wall, against a more serious, later ling flood trying to tear it down. THEN the 2 medics can come bringing you to a total of 3 when they finish (they take a while) so, going firebat/medic, obviously the firebat is very strong at busting sunkens, but if you move out with this, it has some disadvantages compared to going medic/medic when the academy finishes. also if you go medic/medic and DON'T move out, you can go medic/medic AGAIN afterwards and have a lot of medic energy when the mutas arrive. obviously terrans are looking for this moveout to be more dangerous for zerg, but it's not without drawbacks. 5:27 did get a couple of drones i guess, with zerg only on 21 now it could be worse but yeah, that's definitely not great for terran, position is now quite a bit worse than if he had just gone home. now at home we see oof, 1 medic out and 1 more on the way, SO FEW MEDICS! (obviously if you're going to lose everything, doesn't matter if you went firebat/medic or medic/medic tho) 5:55 wanted to mention this, this is a trend i've seen a lot lately especially from light, who seems to have the best handle on the matchup that i can see in the last 2 months or so, consistently managing to weave that factory in before he starts turrets. Rush doesn't quite have light's valkyrie micro tho, so we'll see how this goes. 7:01 QUICK lurker. WOW. these guys are speedrunning the midgame lol meanwhile, double starport... double... armory, that must be a mistake rofl also adding the second gas, that's PLENTY of gas to go 2 port valks, i imagine we'll see only 1 or 2 pairs of valks and then vessels start to come out. also there's been a really interesting take on the matchup where rather than going for lots of vessels (you do build vessels) you just KEEP adding dropships OVER and OVER whenever they are lost to keep zerg on their own half of the map constantly defending, that way. 8:00 speedrunning into the lategame continues with a hive already before anyone's really done anything. interestingly one of the things slowed by going valks is actually +2 infantry weaps; so if this were to go into ling/lurker/defiler and eventually ultra/ling/lurker/defiler, that could be pretty painful for terran. 8:53 OOF yeah, somehow only light gets the valk micro right all the time, sliding right on top of them there. +1 infantry armor starts, going to 5 rax, nothing making out of the starports, this could be really bad for rush. 9:10 holy crap. ok, that seemed to go really well for rush, let's check the gamestate: mutas are basically dead, bio ball significantly reduced, lurkers are out, hive is finishing so there will soon be nydus to the third. 5 rax are done, no third yet, second pair of valks coming, and science facility finishing, but no second e-bay so looking at even more delay for +2 weaps. if true can take a 4th soon... that's basically the end. armor ups will be too good to fight with bio, with this significantly delayed +2 and ultra/lurker/defiler will just crush. meanwhile, terran has to choose how to continue the game: he will start vessels, he will start irradiate but then he must decide if he's going to 3 base or 4, and what to do with those extra gasses. 9:46 NEVER MIND he goes dropships, and he's also now, adding the second ebay, before his 3rd, and will start +2 weaps when it's done, which actually makes him far safer from eventual ultras. but this looks like the dropship plan, pull zerg back into his base and make him cast his defiler spells in there, to keep him away from you, rather than trying to irradiate every defiler, to keep them away from you. 10:11 ow! again, somehow only light can do this. hydra/lurker/defiler coming against no third, so he won't have the gas to land a factory and start tanks, this could get rough! 10:55 ok, i'm lost. true what are you doing, man. for the record, armor and attack ups are almost exactly even so if rush ever GETS HIS THIRD he can handle 4 base zerg for at least a moment. 11:27 plague on the way, ok, fine, apparently true's plan is to do EVERYTHING, fair enough, true. regardless, i think you really have to land the factory here. hydra/lurker/defiler and ultra/lurker defiler both are so much easier to play against when you can claim some map with tanks. 12:12 so i wanted to mention this, i've actually seen light play this spawn against Z several times in the last 2 months, the way he does it is the floating factory lands at the nat, when he takes his third, and the second factory is built, at the third, when he takes his 4th. this seems to work pretty well for him. shop starts for rush. 12:53 geez! that plague could end the game. hits so many vessels, so much bio, you need time to get these tanks going! second factory starts. 13:48 ultralisk switch inbound, we do have potentially 2 factory siege tank coming, but that will prevent constant vessel production. interestingly, no +1 vehicle weaps. does start +3 infantry weaps, he's now actually ahead of the carapace ups. 14:22 there's +1 vehicle weaps, actually if rush can sort of outlast this and get all this stuff rolling, he might be ok. he's got a lot of what he needs to fight this if it can just stay standing for a little bit and get rolling. with 2 factories, the 4 base vs 4 base favors terran, he can sit and slug for 8 minutes or so and zerg starts depleting all the geysers and eventually can't make any of these scary units anymore. and with great ups, 2 factory tanks, going to 7 rax, and i'm sure the 4th will follow, probably to the south, he can just defend that, pressure any attempts to expand from Z, and actually eventually win this. still. that's a big ask from rush. not gonna be easy at all. 14:30 these plagues, man. yeah, i don't think rush will have time to get everything he needs, now. not enough unplagued vessels, not enough tanks. 15:32 ok, yeah, we can't have zero vessels. nat's gonna mine out in a sec and we're really not close to a 4th. maybe he can float his main CC to the min only but then we're down to 2 gas and we can't make vessels and tanks off only that. 16:32 ok, so this drop should never have landed, but actually looks amazing. if Z has to turn around here... rush could be back in it... IF he can somehow get a 4th and still have at least 3 gas. gamestate check: we've got about 7 tanks, nat is nearly gone, main is gone, +3 infantry and +1 vehicle weaps nearly done. vessel count at almost nothing, but building 2 vessels and a tank. no 4th cc yet. Z is about to finish ultra speed but has no defilers near the front. Z taking a 5th. lots of fighting back still to do for rush to have a shot, but i don't think he's just going to die right now. edit: wow, True should rethink his building placement honestly, rush beautifully using zerg's base to shield his own marines from the ultras. you never see this happen, since Z has so few buildings. perhaps an artifact of the small mains on dominator? 17:37 OK. so 4th dies, but 5th will replace it. still no 4th for terran.... i think rush is bleeding to death here. the 3rd falls, and GG! thanks RT!
I've been liking the 20+ minute casts a lot more, lately. I think, for short games, you should do them in pairs or something. Seeing only one video uploaded, and it's 8-10 mins long just doesn't cut it, Arty! 😂
Is there a world where you grab 2 valks and swap into wraith production and hunt all the overlords after wearing down muta defense? With cloak you force overlord exposure which contributes to starving supply.
When are Terrans going to learn to make Walls vs Ultra/Ling? Are a few hundred minerals worth it in barracks to create a near invincible walls (with SCVs)? 2ndly, How many SVs are lost because they're sitting at 1hp and a muta or hydra knocks them out of the sky. Speed has been showing everyone the value of repair, so either throw down Restoration (you have the medics anyways) or send them to a repair crew so they can be repaired while they boost energy. DarkSwarm is one of the most cost effective spells in the game on a energy/hp ratio, and Terran has to have some sort of counter to it, so they need to be more cost effective and NEVER lose Vessels.
Wow, this game felt so bad! I dub this style "upgrade Zerg" because True was just getting all the upgrades long before he needed them. Are marines just obsolete after the early-game? It felt like there was nothing Rush could do after his first big push was just barely held by the mutas & lurkers. If you look at the trajectory of the game after that moment I think you can say Rush was basically all-in and he never recovered from it
Seems to me that when Zerg players bother to snipe vessels (or high templar) they do much better on the offense instead of just melting under spells. So often you see defilers being sniped for good reason, so why not the other way around?
i wanna see a terran player using cloaked ghosts with nukes and use flare from medics to blind overlords from detection... 10 seconds and it could work.
That would be cool, but then all the medics would give up the approximate location of the cloaked ghost and it just seems to micro intensive to pull off. I do want to see ghosts being utilized more
What about using EMP to counter defilers? By the time defilers are spotted, the radiate wont kill them before they cast a dark swarm or/and plague. I know it's just one spell, kind of costly to research, and not final like irradiate. I guess EMP isn't so useful against Zerg like it is for Protoss. And even then I think EMP should have a wider radius. Also defense matrixing dropships should make drops more consistently valuable.
defilers have consume so they can recharge that lost energy very quickly costing them only a few seconds. if you cant kill the defiler in that span then the EMP is useless. Thats why you see irradiate. plus irradiate is cheaper to cast at 75 energy.
I remember beating artosis back in the day and he raged so hard he couldn't accept that im much better than him ....really hasn't gotten any better at the game in all these years it's been out.

I hate to say it, but the ZvT matchup has looked increasingly uncompetitive, to the point where I don't even feel like watching it. It reminds me of that late Wings of Liberty era. Defilers are such a busted, overly centralizing unit. Once Zerg gets those, Terran can barely play the game. So "fun."
All the maps now except the 3 player maps are mostly boring because their too balanced, you had way more unique moments and interesting games on some of the classic 'unbalanced' maps before everyone got a hard-on for cookie-cutter maps
plague and dark swarm are such stupid spells. there is no counter to either. i always hated spellcasters in starcraft but the defiler is easily the worst ever only losing to late-wol infestors which basically needed no support and won games on its own.

Imagine playing this game for 20+ years & not being able to play the other races. It took me only five years to be GM with all three races + random in SC2. You should be S rank with all races if this shit is literally all you ever do.

All the maps now except the 3 player maps are mostly boring because their too balanced, you had way more unique moments and interesting games on some of the classic 'unbalanced' maps before everyone got a hard-on for cookie-cutter maps

plague and dark swarm are such stupid spells. there is no counter to either. i always hated spellcasters in starcraft but the defiler is easily the worst ever only losing to late-wol infestors which basically needed no support and won games on its own.
