I feel like you can really see the difference between the early game of Clem vs every other Terran Serral faces in how Serral defends almost perfectly and loses almost nothing against 99% of Terran he faces. Then Clem comes in and his hellion runbys get like 8-10 drones
True! And Dark shows how to deal with that. In a recent series against Clem Dark got also behind against him in the early game. Then he executed a German Taxi build and killed Clem. In another game he did a roach/nydus all in and killed him. You need to answer Clems aggression with aggression, force Clem to defend instead of attack, and Serral usually dosent go for early game all ins, because he prefers to play the macrogame.
It's great to see. People remembering the first 4-5 years of SC2 know it was just Terran vs. Terran at the highest levels of the game and it was disgusting.
It's definitely been a real long hot minute since I peaked in on pro SC2 play.... But Cure did not look like a top tier Terran player like the ones I remember. Good Zerg players make the map feel like 1 massive swarm, but good Terran players make the map feel like an Appalachian open-fire war zone.
Watching high tier strategy game players, especially StarCraft, always astonishes me every time. It's amazing how these people milk every last drop of value out of every single action. It's wild to see a single siege tank shot be so dang effective. They could play at 0.1% of their normal pace and would still dumpster me.
If this being done in ladder, i would say 100% BM, but this is serral the guy that can recharge viper energy and have queens ready to transfuse those structure while having 3 zergling hotkeys setup probably. Energy to him is basicly free plus it ensure safety of viper from ghosts while gaining small advantages that piled up like Lowko says.
Queens have very specially designed feet that allow them to basically glide across creep, but this makes them very slow and awkward off of creep. Kerrigan apparently did this deliberately to make sure they wouldn't wander off from the hive clusters they're supposed to be tending.
@@Daniel-rd6st You would walk faster on asphalt for a while. Ice does slide on asphalt so you’ve inadvertently helped his point, lol. @@AshraNashal52 No, if you put the ice in the ice skate you certainly wouldnt move faster on asphalt. And if the queen has something like "creep skate" legs it also wouldnt help to fill them with creep to move faster of creep 🙂
Love the GG after Serral starts abducting SCVs. It was a war of attrition and Serral was no doubt about to send waves after waves of stuff while Terran had zero resources to remake the army
When female alates (future queens) finish mating with the male alates they find where they are going to burrow to start their colony they land three and rip off their own wings since they will never need them again (and if they do they wouldn't have enough energy reserves to really start the colony production. Since they also use the muscle tissue that used to move the wings to basically feed themselves over that struggling beginning period)
That is entirely correct sir :D the male reproductive ants (called drones) and queens are born with wings and all start flying synchronised during a certain day for a so called nuptial flight. The queen then mates with as many drones as she can to gather sperm she stores in a special pouch in her body to later on fertiize the eggs she lays. When the flight is over she loses her wings and crawls into a little suitable hole (or she digs one) and start laying eggs. During that time she digests her former wing muscles as a energy/ protein source for the eggs until the workers hatch and can forage for food. - Sorry for the long text I am an ant enthusiast and wrote both my bachelor and my master thesis about ants :D
look close at the queen models legs, that membrane between is their old wings and the legs were the old spars. creep gives energy, food, basically a power network so on creep they get their own metabolic boost.
8:00 That my friend is indeed designed in 2010. I remember paying attention to it in Metalopolis back in the early days of Wings of Liberty. I believe it's modeled after an iPod which most people would've connected their wired ear buds into as Bluetooth devices weren't as good as they are now so they were less common.
I have always wondered why Zerg players never use the Zerglings to swarm around their enemies. Serral definitely makes wonderful use of the Cannon Fodders in protecting his real main damagers.
I know nothing about this game but it looks so interesting. I’d hate to be a foot soldier fighting the insects. Just imagine your unit getting swarmed and completely surrounded by them at lightning speed like that.
12:47 Serral loses 50 supply, manages to take out a PF, then Clem with 2 medicvacs filled with marines takes out a hatchery. Terran can be very cost efficient. Also Terran can have command centers pre made just waiting to replace the PF and resume income, but zerg and protoss need to rebuild their hatch/nexus in place, and then wait. I would say economy wise Terran is OP.
I get what you're saying, but it was an actively defended pf with a full mineral saturation Vs a fresh zerg expansion with nothing at it. They're not equitable to compare
Never expected myself to ever be THIS GOOD at Starcraft or Warcraft, but man I couldn't ever get close to competitive enough for multiplayer matches back in the day lol. I just can't retain all the information and materialize strategies plus learn to manage attacks on different parts of the map at the same time. Do love watching SC2 Competitive though, it's fun to see how great matches pan out.
Imo for Amygdala, Stalkers can blink from gold base to gold base very easily. Think about having Stalkers in the middle of the map that can either easily attack your base with one blink or escape to their bese with one blink. All Zerg reinforcement can be caught pretty easily too.
I used to smash my friends with zerg rush. So they started playing max size maps and fill up the map with AI players. Unless I started close to them they'd have the time to build up their protoss carrier fleets. I was proud I forced them to take such measures and mad that it worked so well.
I find Amigdala map a bit overpowering when it comes to widow mines plays. The fact that there are little dots everywhere make the real ones harder to spot
Endgame Zerg vs Terran would benefit Terran lots more with Terran's many optionals' harrassment and almost infinite scans with flyable structures and healable units. Zerg's current status is very poor with most of them melee-based and easily destroyed with all ranged terran units. Zerg is forced to end the game as soon as possible before everything is maxed out. Once Zerg and Terran are maxed out, Terran outperforms Zerg in anything, especially air to air and air to ground units which can obliterate Zergs easily.
No, the difference is that clem has - in addition to faster micro - he has also ghosts. And he EMPs vipers before they can use spells. Cure goes for more tanks or libs instead.

I'm so confused why other Terran pros don't copy Clem. Clem's pattern on defeating Serral is fairly consistent Reapers > Helion > Medivacs Drops around other base with a siege tank on the front sometimes with Liberator or Banshee.
