    I was a plant driver for about 7 years in Texas Eastman. While rail cars were adjacent, we pulled straight from reactor purge buns.

    You should use a safety rack or have some form of properly rated fall protection when accessing the lids or you could consider getting auto air lids installed for your drivers. then the only time they would need to access the top is for basic lid maintenance.

    • @CustomTransportDrivers
      @CustomTransportDrivers  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Agreed. We used to rely on customers for a catwalk or safety harness, but for the last coule years, we have purchased collapsible fall protection guard rails installed on all trailers.

    How many inch Hg do you guys aim to vac at? I've been doing food grade dry bulk for the last 8 years but we just started to get vac transloads. On a fresh railcar i can pull about 10 hg but it seems to plug and stuck rather than flow. Maybe i have the railcar door open too wide? And man..cleaning out sugar is a pain even with the vibrators. I keep loosing suction because not enough product is falling. And lastly, any tips on the railcar fitting? I'd like think to get it air tight as possible but another guy said letting more air in is better? Any tips will help. Ive done about 10 and seem to find out things here and there but there's really no one who can help.

    @2:49 what was the point of capping the cap... I just don't get that lol, I like the extra walkway section on top, my company makes us use a harness or one of those dropdown gangways. and while I'm usually all for safety stuff I also need to maintain my HOS, a harness takes awhile. That cap on the blower is ridiculous, I love it. Have to admit though I don't think we have any trailer with more than the single product line running underneath.

    A comment and a ❓or 2 🤔
    It’s nice that you have hand-rails going up as you are climbing and the “platform” on the top of the tank is also a great “Safety” feature.
    The ❓❓: why did the driver look into the # 2 hatch into the tank and do the drivers keep the same tank ❓❓ TY

    • @CustomTransportDrivers
