A good view of the collapsed Baltimore bridge
Toxic wasteland port Baltimore...they just have to keep it now because all the infrastructure is already there .they didn't know what they were doing when they built that port .
It still Blows My Mind, I Worked for a Fella Who Lives & Had a Yard in Pasadena. I had been across that Bridge Somenty Times & to See it Collapsed in Seconds. Oh Shit, I don’t Stop on Bridges Covering that Stinking Ass Bay Or Solomons Bridge on My Way to Work, Southern Pennsylvania To Southern Maryland Four Day’s a Week.
I was just thinking the same thing
geezzz, what a colossal F up!
That's means big I think 🤔 im not a very smarrrrrrrt man thoughhhhhhh@@raincoast9010
Another good one! Thanks. With all those escorts you had quite an entourage.
The loading and the backup/scale segments were a great bonus. Thanks for including them.
My 9th great grandfather, Samuel Erwin was one of the founders of Painted Post, New York. This is the first time I have ever seen any video of the village. Thank you for that!
Wow! Small world!!!
That part of 83 brings back a lot of memories
Shocked that they didn't ship this by sea. Cool vid
Canadian here. I worked for a Cat dealer ub B.C. loading and unloading equipment on rail cars and trucks, then got into operating equipment. Enjoyed the ride and commentary. Nice truck too!
Welcome to the channel!
Another finning employee
Thanks for all the technical explanations. Not a trucker, just stumbled on this, but love learning about what goes into hauling things like this.
Happy to have you along! ✌️
I'm also finding this very interesting. I think that most boys of all ages are fascinated by big toys. I'm a retired engineer/IT guy, watching from Australia, who's into big road trains. e.g. th-cam.com/video/nKkzQTEsSig/w-d-xo.html
@roadie3124 thank you for the link. I’ll check it out!
👍Same here. Like you just stumbles across it but very well done.
Thanks for sharing your trip!
Good old NY! Infinite wisdom at work. Nothing like taxing the heck out of the local roads in order to collect a toll from you for the highway use.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing the trip with us.
Highest level of professionalism. Well done!!
Awesome Doug.....great videos.....thanks again....👍🇨🇦
I understand the logic riding the left lane to avoid dealing with merging traffic. Nice job as always and safe trips
That looks like a beast, Doug. Safe trip!
Well done, your patience is remarkable and necessary for what you do.
Thanks for another great video.
It was a pleasure to watch a cool hand at the controls. Thanks for taking us along.
Can't wait to see your new truck in action 🎉
It will be a few weeks in preparation
And another enjoyable ride-alone with you. I appreciate your descriptions of how the rig is set up...... that's quite a complex piece of machinery. And of course great editing by you as always. Thank you. 👍
Thank you 😊
I think your permit people have a very good relationship with everyone involved coming from US to Canada
Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming!
When you leave Dundalk Marine Terminal at night with your escort rolling up Dundalk Ave. do me a favor once you pass the McDonald's on your left don't use your Jake Brake I live in the apartments on the right just after the funeral parlor... I'm just being a smart-ass retired truck driver, be safe my friend.
Nice video. Enjoyed watching you handle your truck.
Awesome video. I was just gonna ask about the track tighteners, and then you explained it.
Love your video's please keep them coming !!!💥
nice job keep them wheels ah turning good luck we be watching you
I live outside of Morris, it was cool that you stopped there. Continue bring enjoyment to us Enthusiasts and continue trucking 👍
That was a great video, i enjoyed it very much maybe watch again 👏👏👏
Great job with the drone camera 😎
How does that work? Flying the drone and driving at the same time? Hover in place mode? Nice that in his extra time there he is creating "how to" videos.
My favorite view is from up there
Yes these newer drones are a very stable platform. I can position the drone and it will remain on station while I maneuver the truck.
Love heavy haul, my Bother sells trailers out in Spruce Grove and runs a trucking firm that serves Grand Prairie, AB.
I am from UK England great driving thand and the view of the the damaged bridge
Thought I saw an Earl Paddock truck while you were loading. The shout-out confirmed it.
I grew up in the Niagara Falls area but live in Western Canada now. Can't believe some of the streets you have to drive with that unit. I'm used to all the over size routes we have in Alberta.
I've pulled a tandem jeep with a tri axle low bed and that was stressful enough. You make that big unit look easy. I know it's not.
Yes the east coast is a different game!
The USS Constellation is the last sail-only warship designed and built by the United States Navy. It has a museum gallery and is good for kids.
Yes, the USS Constellation is located in Baltimore, Maryland's Inner Harbor at Pier 1. It's the only remaining ship from the Civil War era and is now a National Historic Landmark. The ship was built in 1854 and decommissioned in 1955 after 100 years of service. It's now preserved as a museum ship with four decks to explore. The ship offers regular guided tours, including a cannon firing every day, and visitors can participate in demonstrations
The USS Constellation was eventually decommissioned in 1955 after 100 years of service. Located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, this vessel is the only surviving ship from the Civil War Era. It is now a National Historic Landmark.
Built in Boston and launched in 1797, USS CONSTITUTION is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world today. During the War of 1812 the ship gained fame and its name “Old Ironsides.” CONSTITUTION remains both a training and ceremonial ship for the Navy, as well as an educational experience for visitors.
@@rayRay-pw6gz i was already wondering if i was finally losing my mind turns out they were launched very close to eachother though.. so easy to confuse i guess
My new favorite channel!!
That’s what I like to hear! ✌️
seeing it from the sky is cool like the music reminds me of eastwood movies
Nice to see BALTIMORE EXPRESS alongside you there at Dundalk.
Beautiful NY scenery
The challenge of getting around turns with the length and of getting up and down hills with the weight would be fun. The frustration of the bureaucracy and red tape would drive me nuts! How do you pass the time, waiting for several days, in a place like Liberty PA (a.k.a. out in the middle nowhere)?
Keep on trucking, and remember - shiny side up.
I pass the time by editing TH-cam videos 🤪
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 While you do a nice job of editing, I hope there are some more interesting things to do, unfortunately fishing probably isn't an option very often.
Great video very interesting thanks
An other great one !!! Thanks :)
great video
Wow great job and great video and all green lights by a 6/49 man
that was some very professional driving good job
I like that bridge in the background.
Hi Doug another awesome video of your true professional skills as a heavy Haul driver and also the amount of work you put into your videos is outstanding and a pleasure to watch and also show the real stresses of doing heavy haul work so wishing you safe miles cheers from tim in queensland australia ( keep on trucking )
Thanks again Tim 😇
M'Gawd, what it does to me when I hear 'er shift to a higher gear. Just something about that sound - like it comes from somewhere deep within the earth. Beautiful job, sir - wishing you many safe miles!!!!
What i like is about is you know if you respect people they will give you respect.
100%
Great video. Liked all the explanation. That Key bridge collapse was tragic for the workers who lost their lives and their families. May they RIP. Kudos to those who got the word out so quickly that allowed LEOs to block the bridge to avoid further loss of life. And kudos to you for taking a few seconds and giving the Baltimore inner harbor a plug. I am from Virginia and enjoy it when I go.
Thank you for the feedback 😊
The camera work is amazing.
Hey Doug !! Thanks again for the view of the Baltimore Disaster & for the ride !!! Enjoy your time off & hope to see you maybe in Aug. when in the Buffalo area !! 👍👍👍👍👍
Ahhhhhh you went through my city again in the intro! Hahahah enjoying this so much.
Another interesting video Doug, enjoy watching them all. Your driving skills are at the top of professional driving for sure !!
Another dynamic video
We started goi g to the #1 on 695 about 20 years ago and MSP liked it and the word spread, now if you have a trooper thats pretty standard affair. Much safer than wrestling w ramp traffic.
Excellent job all around Driver!
Hey Brother , I Enjoyed the Journey. Thanks for letting me ride along. I spent many years doing what you do. Be well Stay Safe. Hope to ride along for another trip 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Happy to have you along ✌️
Good job !
Super cool…. i love it 🥰
thanks from germany
Hi Doug, from Calgary here. My son went to UMBC in Baltimore (actually Catonsville) about 12 years ago. He never encountered anything bad in his 4 years. During my many visits during that time, I only witnessed one incident , that was a fellow getting it on with his wife/ significant other ?? as we were leaving an NFL game. I never felt threatened during those 4 years. Also, enjoyed many visits to the inner harbour.
UMBC! Go Dawgs!
Hi Doug. Weather's looking better🤣. Very impressed at the scales. Nice to see the drone footage and how you line up the lorry. All scientific stuff, which I totally enjoy, and looking at the read out. Not many truckers explain any of this. I follow a half dozen or so truckers, and only one person explains things, which is Sherralin (Lorry Diaries) on her site. She does many trips out of England and around Europe, usually France, Spain and Portugal, and she does some explanations as well. When you stopped for the inspection, I had to laugh to myself watching the officer on his back pushing himself along. Looked like an upside down turtle🤣
I was waiting for this comment about the crawler! 😊🤣
I’ll have to check out “Lorry Diaries”
SHERALLIN is intresting
This was extra fun for me because I’m familiar with all these roads.
I always wondered why most heavy cross country runs don’t allow you to take the inside lanes.
Thanks for the ride along.
Texas🙏
Greetings from Toronto, Nice job sir , I too have driven heavy float in Toronto ,(89 Mack Superliner with JC float ,double jeep),My heavies machine I ever hauled was a Hitachi 11000 many yrs ago ,I enjoyed travelling 90% In Ontario , At times had to go to Nova Scotia docs to pick machine called Fuich I believe ,for scrap yards recovery ,I'm retired now but enjoy watching ,Cheers
Happy to have you along for the ride! ✌️
As long everyone is on the same page on how you getting their, what lanes is needed and what the situation is for the travel. Then keep at it it as long the drive is safe for everyone on the road traveling and less stop and go. But for sure that is a big Cat on the low loader trailer.
You are ture professional to allow others driver's the right of way even though the cop kept going. Just the pick up where I left off. That was a beautiful day
My compliments again, Doug, for another outstanding video with top editing.
Your explanations at the truck stop while waiting for the NYSP escort, were very interesting.
Question: upon entering that T/S, when you needed to raise the trailer, doesn't that activity pull the trailer back (the reverse of what happens when drivers drop the air on a van-trailer after docking, it pushes the trailer-box forward). The real question is: do you leave the tractor-brake off when raising the trailer, so the tractor moves backwards during the process? (the energy for raising the trailer has got to go somewhere).
Also, when you suggested - just prior to entering the Rest Area/Weigh Station near Kanona/NY - to have all your paperwork ready for such inspections, you named among other things the Permits. Maybe you should also remind drivers to ensure that the Permits are signed and all auxiliary forms (usually to be downloaded from the State's website) are in fact present with each permit. (I can't stop re-iterating the "signing part" to all my drivers).
Yes you are correct about signing for the states and provinces which require signatures. NY used to require but not any more.
I have the habit of only using the tractor parking brake and leaving the trailer released. That being said when working on uneven ground or on a slope all the brakes should be set. The truck alone may not be enough to hold 200,000 lbs from rolling on a slope
Impressive!
4:04 I actually laughed out loud.
Love your videos, I live in Baltimore, about a 20 minute walk to the inner harbor. I drive past the staging area every day on the way home from work. Hopefully one day I’ll see your truck sitting there.
I am there often enough! Don’t be shy to say hi
Boy we are sure lucky out here in the West (Nevada) where we have lots of freeways to handle these types of loads. A lot easier than what you have to do to get the load delivered to the customer back East. Thanks for taking us along for the trip.
@stuartatkins5425....technically we have lots of freeways (& toll-roads) too, but the infrastructure (read: bridges, overpasses) are in pitiful state and Doug's combo could well be the last nail in the coffin while crossing some of these structures (that was always my fear when operating delivery self-propelled mobile cranes).
That said, the traffic -ensity is also far greater on the East Coast then in the West, that's why P\permit-routings are usually mandated off the beaten track.
Yes east coast is not the same game! That’s why I just laugh when westerners say they routinely move bigger pieces of equipment. The infrastructure is much different, the laws are very different and the population density is very different so you really can’t compare the two
Well you know as well as I do that on those shorty ramps I swear it gets to be a game with some of the 4 wheelers(and some of the 18s)
Toutes mes félicitations au conducteur du tracteur !
I'm new here I usually hangout north carolina and southern indiana, heavy equipment operators arizona utah off road and on road vehicle recovery and florida drag racing, this is the first ever long haul channel for meoh I'm into railroads and home construction too.
Welcome to the channel!
Another great job and video work!🦬🦬🦬🦬👷🏻♂️👷🏻♂️👷🏻♂️👷🏻♂️👍👍👍
Nice truck, don't always need an 18-speed manual for Heavy haul.😂😂
It amazes me that you go through all these small towns and narrow roads. Thought t would be easier to stick to the freeways.enjoy the ride along.
Thats why I publish these videos! When people see us on skinny little roads it’s not because we’re lost!!! Okay maybe sometimes 🤣
Got lead here from Truck TV America. Nice video.
Welcome to the channel!
super professioneel toppy
👍 from Detroit.
I never would have guess it takes that long to sort out police escort. Cheers.
Hi Doug, wishing you all the very best with your new rig when you get it Hopefully no teething problems eh. Mike from UK 🇬🇧
It’s a slow process to get ready. I will be happy when it is done!
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 how long you been waiting now
@mikestorey6242 I just signed the papers this week. Will probably be a month before it’s on the road.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 brilliant can't wait to see it
Wow I can't believe they took you down thru town in NY that's crazy. There is a long sweeping bridge just before 99 changes to 86 it must have a weight restriction.
I live in south Baltimore and drive I95 a lot. I'm always on the lookout for you. If you see a red blue or black Volvo wagon (I have three and drive them in rotation) giving you a honk, that might be me just saying HI.
10-4 👍
Now getting to the end of the video. If that was the Brits pulling up to call the bridge to cross, we'd be duty free first, then call the bridge🤣🤣🤣. Whilst your crossing the bridge, the river reminds me of the Rhine in Holland as its nearing the North Sea. Brilliant video Doug, keep them rolling
😊 I have not had the opportunity to explore Europe very much yet. It is on the list!
Good video educational.
There is an interstate project going on here on
I 43
And the contractor has 2 John Deere 470's
Sold. The 2nd or 3rd video., New sub here
That photo with “the bridge” in the background.
Welcome to the channel!
A new business model for someone out there: powered creepers for DOT/MOT/DMV inspectors.
🤣🤣🤣
I thought the 395 was built in the US, guess not. Enjoyed the video, well done.
👍👍
I think it is made in China.
@raincoast9010 Do not understand why we do business with China. The CCP is our enemy..
Nice video, i hope i never get stuck behind you :P
It sure is weird seeing the container ship fiasco in the background eh!
And that Wallenius RORO ship in the background has finally been able to get out of the port in the last day or two.
and pls keep on smilin' 😊😊😊😊😊
Excelente performance
thats crazy with the bridge collapse in the background
Interesting video, trunk, trailer & load info, view of harbor ( March 26 and they are still finding bodies), the differences between your escorts and I can just imagine NYPD writing you up for running a red light or you not stopping for school bus 1:00:43, then seizing your truck and load under their strange asset forfeiture rules
Bin ein großer Fan von dir und von Mirco auf Achse ❤
Awesome video, Doug! Please visit British Columbia sometime to teach our guys how it's done. I've lost track of how many overpasses we've lost in the last 2-3 years!
I won’t say anything… bad carma to talk about others who hit overpasses!
I like the video's and the music
Thank you 😊

wow tres interessant 🤘
e logs the reason i left after 27 yrs of safe driving and no log book problem.
I hear you. I used to think like that but I’ve changed my 2 cents on the issue ( not that I have any say at all in the matter). The way I see it this isn’t the 70’s anymore and this day and age a person shouldn’t need to work more than 14 hours per day to earn a living. If you need to work more than 14 hours you are a slave to your boss.
Or maybe I’m just lazy either way I don’t miss the days of dispatch saying “we need a favor”
I agree and I'm from SCOTLAND- 15 hours spread-overs and many a favour. Your filming is very intresting . Thank you.
Red bull comes to the rescue again!
