At 48 and 5’7” 170 lbs the Xtrainer is coming really close to my favorite woods bike of all time. 2021 with about 130 hours so far. KDX 220 is still pretty special to me. Before that I was absolutely positive nobody needed anything but a XR 200, and not even an R. I like quite a few bikes, the Xtrainer is worth a try if you ride like this man.
I’ve been riding an XR400 as my main bike since 1999 and one ride on this bike had me put money down on a ‘23. I’ll never part with my XRs but this bike will allow me to ride the “hard enduro” stuff more without wearing me out.
@@eliminationgame hard to say. I hear some taller guys like the bike because it’s even easier to throw around at that size but the suspension may be sprung too softly for you. I’m 5’8 and 180 and my buddy’s felt good for me. Best thing would be to go to a local Beta demo ride and see how it is first hand. Check to see if any dealers in your area are having any.
@@Garage2Trail as far as power delivery it’s about the same if you do all the 300rr mods. Pipe, airbox mod, jetting etc. the suspension on the bigger bikes is a whole different level in terms of how fast you can go. You can hit some pretty big things with the KYB and be fine. The xtrainers forks you can do 3rd and 4th gear stuff without dying if you got it upgraded with a lucky cartridge fork.
Couple of wishes Beta: for 8k put a better name brand suspension on it and also change the name - something about spending all that dough and telling your buddies you're still on a trainer 😀. How about just call it the Beta X.
@@Garage2Trail yeah there is a fair amount of trails out there. Some woods, lots of slags, you can ride the tracks out to other trails in plum and across the allegheny into Harwick. Here’s a link to some slag footage on my dirt bike channel. Holler if you ever want to meet up. I have some GoPros, we can trade footage and stuff. th-cam.com/video/x3tYXW3dXmc/w-d-xo.html Actually this vid has more woods but it’s right behind the slags between monroeville and penn hills.
@user-dd2xl4ns5q awesome man, right in my backyard! Keep an eye out for the beta demo ride this March or April at switchback. First Bike Motorsports normally hold their demo day there and you can ride every model…have you been on one yet?
I have seen a lot of reviews saying it is twitchy at speed. However, no one can tell me at what speed. Did you notice any of that? I typically ride the exact same terrain you were riding.
I can’t say that I have. I haven’t had it out on any wide open stuff to say for sure but maybe it’s because of the suspension being sprung softer. I’m used to that though.
@@Garage2Trail Thank you. I have a 2021 Trainer and truly love it. I've done some suspension work at AMP and to me this bike is now perfect. I have Cycra hand guards but I'm not fully convinced by the fit. It looks like the ones on your buddy's bike have a better fit.

I’m 6’3” 220 lbs, think I’m too big for this bike?

@@Garage2Trail I’ll do that. Also considering the Beta 200RR
I'm buying a woods bike. Kdx200 for $2000 or an Xtrainer for $6500. Which would you get for tight woods and hills in Virginia?
I drank the beta coolade and I love it
It's like a modern KDX200 but with more torque, lighter weight, electric start and better suspension! I want one! Time for a road trip to Calgary...
It really is! Perfect way to describe it
I have had both. 86 kdx new,and an x-trainer. I respectfully disagree. X-trainer is much more motorcycle. How about kdx on steroids? 😂
I think you'll love the Xtrainer. I just got onto an Xtrainer this year, coming off a 300rr Race Edition and I love it.
Picking mine up tomorrow! So is it the suspension and power delivery that’s the biggest difference?
@@Garage2Trail For a race edition?
@@justinsavs yeah the XTrainer vs 300 RR

I’m coming off my XR so I’m used to very soft forks lol
Great Bike (I also have Xtrainer) and awesome trail(s).
Thank you! I was blessed with these trails right behind the house I grew up in and still live close by that I can get over to them from my house.
Thanks for the Review - great Job❤
This was the ride that made me decide to get one. I was hooked right away! Thanks for watching!
I ride western PA (erie area) and this is the perfect bike. I'm thinking about getting one as well
I was really impressed with it in the slop we were riding in. Can’t wait to see how it is in the dry
Thanks for the review and ride!

Fuq em!! It's an "xtrainer" -half the time you're better off riding solo anyway imo.
hello
nice riding
2 cycle engin ❤
Thanks!
Following for more Xtrainer content.
There will be more this spring. Got one on the way 🙂
Thanks
Nice! Im looking at maybe getting a xtrainer. New Sub. you ever ride the slags near Penn Hills?
Awesome thank you! I have not, I’ve been out in Gibsonia and over near the airport but never out that way. Lots of riding?

Any idea what those circular concrete protrusions are? They appear to be quite common in that area.
Storm drain/sewer manhole entries. These woods are kinda in the valley surrounded by homes so there is a main line that runs through the woods
Where at in Western PA are you located. I'm in the southhills area?
That’s cool! I’m in the North hills
Nice. I am looking into getting a 2024 xtrainer. I have mountain biked in North Park for years.

@Garage2Trail No, not yet. My last bike was a yz450. Now I have a quad that I ride around with my young kids.

It gets a little twitchy when you get over 65 mph or so
@austin baird thanks for the info. Perfect, by the time I hit those speeds, I'm out of useable space and have to brake.
Some of those trees look awfully close to the bars
What brand of hand guards are you using?
I’ll ask my buddy. It’s his bike.

he’s using the cycra ultra pro bends
This or a KTM 300 TPI?
Haven’t ridden a KTM so I can’t give my opinion unfortunately. This bike fits me very well as a shorter guy. 5’8” at 180lbs
