Thanks for this! I'm going to do the same thing to my 2018 Sport Glide M8 107, and it's great to see an 'average guy doing his own work' presentation, instead of some slick production from a vendor. Great stuff.
@@BigDolla337 107 have lower compressor than 114ci . Trust me I installed 475 on 107 had to go and do a big bore stage 3 124 with that cam. Because lost a lot of torque performance at low rpm. Than Did more research and every good harley build shop in USA tolled me same thing 475cam is for 114 and up.
Love the video. Glad to know there are other people with the same luck I have. Started the job last week on my 20 road glide and my tappet cuff bolt snapped 😢.
Enjoyed the video. I normally do things myself. I have reached a point in life where I would just rather pay someone to do it for me. Great video though. Watched the whole thing. Your a funny guy with your comments. Thanks for making the video.
Bro. I felt your pain, I went to 3 HD dealerships to get that oil pump seal. The service counter people had no clue to what I was talking about nor was it showing up on their computer. I young salesman overheard us talking about it, he told the counter man they had them and he said for him to pipe down because he already checked in the back. The young man went over his head and got a mechanic from the pack who went in the back and brought 3 of them up front so I bought all 3 of them for my club brothers upgrade.
I just wanted to say that of all the videos I saw on installing the cam, I got the most out of yours! I watched it a few times and now I believe I am ready to do it myself You seem very down to earth, thanks for the video Good luck with your future work on the bike!
I'm in the middle of my 2020 cam chest upgrade, yea I choose a screamin Eagle 447 torque cam for the same reason to avoid the low end loss. One bolt broke on my plastic cuff.. dang it, and I'm having to deal with it. but i have the S$S cam plate and Oil pump too
For those who watch this... The tappet cuffs are overloaded with loctite. Remove the cam cover & empty the cam chest. Take a heat gun, heat upward inside the chest. Then remove the cuff bolts. You have to heat the loctite!!
Yes, hard to tune and cam don't kick in till 3500 rpm. Literally just took it out and put in 540c Cam and valve Springs. video coming next week after dyno tuning. ss475 cam is not good unless you run 2 into 1 and still it's not worth it. I can already tell the 540 cam is awesome
Hey good video kinda. I mean no disrespect here. I had done this job a few times already but I watched you do this because you do it with some of your humor thrown in there and make it a little easier to watch your (master mechanic) ways. That whole pump seal you really don't even need but I guess what works for you is your thing. To say you don't like the 475 cam leads me to believe you may have done something wrong. Keep up your videos though. I do enjoy watching them.
Man your Not Making Sense !!! This Video is the first Video that I have a seen Faulting the S&S 475 (Kit) Have You Discussed this with S&S let’s see their Reply!!

I agree I used S&S everything including the chain tensioner because it will last way longer than stock and it oils chain before contact with pad.

Just dont do 475 go for 465 for 107 motor.

I noticed you didn't reuse the factory lifters? Which lifters did you go with? I do agree with you that the 2020 up Harley factory oil pump is fine.
Best thing I ever did to my 17 SGS was the S&S 475 cam chest kit. Dyno Jet with Target Tune.
Hell ya brother! 😂 I wasn’t laughing at you, I was laughing with you! Good job, great video!
Why order the kit? Why not just order the cam, bearing, and lifters?
Great explanation on how to adjust the pushrods by the way.

What did you use to tune the bike ECM?
The pumps have a different number of geroter teeth from early design to new one

Everyone else installing this Cam says differently. You put in a new TB amd modified completely from a Stock114 stg2. Its a tuning issue now
You didn’t let the lifters bleed down before turning the crank 😮

great video man thx's
I could use that fuel pump in my bike, mine is water cooled!
I just sold it, sorry
You never checked the runout
You don’t have to with the OEM chest/plate. It’s a soft alloy and made to crush under excessive runout, up to 12 thousands per Harley Davidson 🤷

WOW! People please please! Do NOT follow the way this tool does this! It WILL end badly for ur engine I promise!
Agreed!!! He didn’t let the lifters bleed down…. No wonder why it’s running like shit
