I agree with sooooo many comments, that the CEO of Rimac allowing such a race is just awesome. 15 times the price yet the tesla is just so damn good at launching. Power is power though so the result was never in doubt but even so. That's a car nut right there, and if I had a spare 3 million lying around Id buy one just on principle....

Ya know, considering the fact that the Tesla costs 5% of what the Nevera costs, the Tesla is a pretty good deal.
Look at what a tasla looks like and what a rimac, it is easy to make a car that has good acceleration but you need to make a car that is safe at high speeds, beautiful and can drive like a race car

The Rimac has it all, and that's why it costs so much. We'll have to see what the Roadster has in it's backpack.
at $250k for the founder series? WHO CARES! for the price of the nevera- you could buy 10 roadsters- and carry 2 friends all the way to LA & back on ONE charge- for a tidy $15 in 'fuel' costs.

For the people saying "Oh 2 million dollars only gets you half a second" ... no, it gets you extra 60 mph up top, it gets you far better handling and a far quicker and more fun to drive car on track or twisty roads, it gets you the stiffest body of any car ever produced with the largest carbon fiber monococque ever produced (including LMP1 race cars), etc. People need to stop acting like the only thing determining the cost of a car is 0-60 or 1/4 time. That's literally the only aspect in which the Model S can even get close to the Rimac in terms of performance, build quality, materials used, safety, design, etc. Even the 1/4 time is close only because half the race is done on low speeds when both cars are grip limited. The Rimac will smoke all 4 tires up to over 100 km/h if they actually just unleash 100% of torque from standstill. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Model S will do the same. Whether you have 1000hp or 2000hp is irrelevant before at least 70-80 mph, unless you're running drag slicks. Try doing a 100-200 mph acceleration comparison, or a 1/2 mile race, or a rolling start race from 60 mph, and then you'll see the difference between them is far bigger than half a second.
That's why there's a difference between sedans and hypercars, no matter how fast a sedan is.
This is kinda like saying "Oh buying a La Ferrari for 1 million only gets you half a second over a Dodge Charger Hellcat for 100k". No, it gets you so much more than a 1/4 time says. It's kinda sad that so many of you that follow car channels (and are apparently interested in cars) have such a limited understanding and appreciation of cars.

Hold up.. Brooks actually pulled together a drag race between a Rimac Nevera and a Tesla Plaid.. The Rimac hasn’t even started shipping yet or barely just started shipping.. You know how big of a deal that is? This channel deserves EVERY subscriber.
This Nevera is unreal, insane and unbelievable ... I've seen what a plaid can do to almost all supercars ... And now I just can't get my head around this seeing the Nevera doing it to the plaid

@@kg9799 the rimac has more agressive cooling system, but no telling how effective until I see the size of the heat exchanger, but it is definitely a larger and heavier sytem then in the plaid.
The plaid runs half the voltage of the taycan but outputs much more wattage.
I think these cars will do even lower times on a track with track bite only on the 60foot area. There might be no need for a totally sticky track with them being direct drive and shiftless. But i can understand the safety issue though so don't quote me for saying shit
@@carcinohate the nevera weighs as much as the plaid, this is a big issues because it will need as much grip as possible for corners or gain very little advantage from being 1900HP.

I mean, you must factor in the price difference. The plaid is around $130.000 and the Nevera is around $2.5 mil. If Tesla were to make a $2.5 mil. hypercar they would probably kill Rimac but that is not their thing.

They put some Trash together with horrible build quality and put 3 Engines inside. No one ever would spend a Million on such a Trashcan. The Nevera is Perfection and thats why People buy it.

@@danmyers9372 Yes, technically, a suburb of Bakersfield. Still hilarious. Of course on the sign at the track, it calls it Famoso Raceway, Bakersfield, CA. My Dad grew up on a farm out there before it went bust and they moved to So Cal in the 60s.

The closest I ever will come to the Nevera is in my driving simulator on Forza FH5 that is one of my favorite cars. I have never seen anything that made the Plaid look slow and we all know that thing is freaking sick. Another great video rare that we see such a race . That Nevera is beautiful definitely in my Top 5 dreams cars
Knowing how fast the Nevara is, for 1/20th of the price the Plaid actually impressed me

Cost about the same also. More fighter jets are produced than Rimac. Just another flavor of the month that you will never see in the real world. And when it needs parts which it will the owners will be screwed.

@@ericship8383 Handbuilt is way easier than production manufacturing. Think about trying to spit out 1000 a day of those cars. The tooling the programs the automation it is very difficult. I know because I’m a manufacturing engineer

That rimac is a demon over the quarter mile. Absolutely insane! However the numbers that sedan is achieving and it’s price makes me very excited for the roadster.

Supposedly it will be faster than 1.9s 0 to 60.. but it is only using 3 motors.. Rimac has 4.. so I would be very interested to see what happens if Roadster had 4 motors on it. Not sure why their flagship car doesnt. Maybe it will be an option.. or they are saving that for a 2030 refresh or something.

That may be so, but Tesla overall from a business point of you is good for the company because at the end parts repair or anything to do with the vehicle is not shared and you’re not allowed to share or know about it’s mechanical repair If needed so with that and tesla sucks. As of this moment electric cars don’t have the advantage considering only worth buying if you live in a modern Country with modern equipment anything outside of the city you can forget it specially in other countries or remote areas not ideal hopefully One day with better regenerative or storage energy
Also you can buy the Plaid and still have $2.2 million left over for a 2 bedroom condo in San Francisco.

The Rimac Nevera is undoubtedly a fine electric sports car. The term "production" car probably fits, too, but just barely. And breaking 9secs in a quarter is a rare feat.
How does it fit barely? Its a production car that has been fully globally homologated like any high production car needs to be, just because they aren't making thousands of them doesn't mean its not production

That Rimac is amazing. Flat out makes the Plaid look slow when the Plaid makes so many other cars look slow. Of course the taxes alone on a Rimac are more than a Plaid, so you have to give the Plaid it's dues for what it is at it's price point and practicality. Now I'm excited to see the Tesla Roadster and what they can do with that car now that the Rimac is the new benchmark of speed.
Rimac doesn't sell too much in America. We don't have taxes in Croatia.

well tesla is made as cheap as possible. It's got flimsy plastic all over and it's basically a FIAT with super big electric motor.
