Tesla will announce the Model 3 Ludicrous on Tuesday. It won’t be anywhere near as quick as these cars but it will be running 10s for about $55k with 5 seats. That is outstanding value.
Not convinced itll be hitting 10.9s but we shall see. Model s Standard is two plaid motors, more powerful than the 1 plaid motor plus regular motor which is said to be in the ludachris model 3. And that model S barely hits 10s

The 275 wide tires in the rear will allow the Model 3 Ludicrous to greatly increase torque off the line. The 60 foot time will come WAY down for the Model 3. The thing with the sapphire that’s scary is it isn’t a one trick pony this thing did 2:44.3 seconds on the Virginia raceway put that into perspective the plaid did 2:50.7 seconds on that same track
8:18 that side by side is brilliant. if you pause at any time the times are exactly the same so you can see exactly how much faster the lucid is at any given moment.
Pretty crazy that some of the quickest cars Brooks has ever tested are almost 5,000 lb 5 passenger sedans. Just wait till the Tesla Roadster comes out with the thruster thing.

Remarkable how similar Sapphire and Plaid look side by side. Not surprising the engineers came from Tesla. What is truly remarkable is how much they improved it. If using for anything other than at the drag strip the Plaid would be good enough for me.

But it had probably nearly 4 there on thelat last run because of the slow reaction from Brooks in the Tesla. I'm just saying there's plenty of guys running low to mid 9s because of traction issues and lack of great prep. On the street, I bet the race will be even closer or back and forth because of the traction.
Chiron also does 60-130 mph in 4.1 seconds I think on prepped surface Chiron can do much better Chiron SS does 0-62 mph in 2.2 seconds On prepped surface these can do 8.7-8.8 seconds quarter mile easily Chiron SS 0-124 mph 5.5 seconds Lucid Sapphire 0-124 mph was 6.0 seconds
On the road the Plaid does better though. The extra torque and atock tires for the Sapphire means it spins more. On a sticky track like this the Sapphire will win by 2-3 cars
Spoke with a gentleman with a brand new Plaid Model S at a Supercharger last year, and asked him what he thought of it. He liked it, but was more concerned with kids getting them in a few years on the second hand market. The capability of any modern car vs what we were all driving 20 years ago is pretty eye opening when you think about it.

It's on another level to the Plaid than just performance. There is much better range, handling, but also drives and has suspension of something like an S Class. It's far more luxurious, and apparently, the focus wasn't when creating the Lucid was sheer speed or acceleration. It's in a completely different league to the Plaid. You get what you pay for so naturally it's going to be more expensive. It's a better product!

Looking at what a Plaid now cost, should tell people a lot about how much of a shafting Elon gave his customers. I would be livid if I had bought a Tesla.
the Stock PLAID , came out BEFORE the Saphire. Loocid , was able to add 50kw in batteries , add 1x motor for 3. Saphire is very HEAVY , over 5,000 lbs. Loocid spends $45,000 in Repair, each car. costs Loocid $377,000 to make each Loocid car in 2024.
Ive driven the Lucid Dream. Waaay nicer than Tesla. Its a luxury car where Tesla is more of a premium economy car. I will be getting the Dream for my next car unless the Saphire drops way cheaper like the Plaid did. Either way, America wins 🇺🇸

We don't. We just know these two cars aren't even comparable since one costs more than twice as much as the other. I'd be fucking pissed if I bought a lucid for 250k and it couldn't beat a 120k Model S plaid. Also, At least Tesla makes money on their cars and will be around for a long time. Lucid will go bankrupt before they become profitable. "We're faster than a Tesla but can't make money" isn't a viable business plan.

There are other reasons that people buy expensive cars other than 0-60 or quarter mile times. Remarkable how similar Sapphire and Plaid look side by side. Not surprising the engineers came from Tesla. What is truly remarkable is how much they improved it. If using for anything other than at the drag strip the Plaid would be good enough for me.
If I'm gonna be spending 250k on a car, I might as well get a tesla roadster. That'll be here by early 2025! Can't wait!

But it had probably nearly 4 there on thelat last run because of the slow reaction from Brooks in the Tesla. I'm just saying there's plenty of guys running low to mid 9s because of traction issues and lack of great prep. On the street, I bet the race will be even closer or back and forth because of the traction.

Spoke with a gentleman with a brand new Plaid Model S at a Supercharger last year, and asked him what he thought of it. He liked it, but was more concerned with kids getting them in a few years on the second hand market. The capability of any modern car vs what we were all driving 20 years ago is pretty eye opening when you think about it.
That's true, but the insurance costs would be crazy high at least in my country.

It's on another level to the Plaid than just performance. There is much better range, handling, but also drives and has suspension of something like an S Class. It's far more luxurious, and apparently, the focus wasn't when creating the Lucid was sheer speed or acceleration. It's in a completely different league to the Plaid. You get what you pay for so naturally it's going to be more expensive. It's a better product!
