    I have really enjoyed this week of Premier yarn porn! I have learned about yarns I have never heard of and have gotten some great ideas! I love how the metallic thread transforms that yarn! Thanks Jennifer!

    I thought you said My man fell off 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪 You said my band fell off! I really needed that laugh 😂. I used to crochet doilies and angel ornaments with steel crochet hooks size 000. Very tiny! Had better eyes and dexterity back then!love those color combinations

    I find it very relaxing to untangle yarn and thread no matter how long it takes. Glad someone else feels that way.

    So glad to see you using the crochet thread this morning... I made a temperature blanket recording the high and the low for each day... I added a strand if SILKY embroidery machine thread on the days/ nights that it rained. So pretty. I like watching your videos because I never know what you will come up with. You make each day interesting and you make me smile...

    That looks great together! Also, that is absolutely the simplest way to make a magic circle that I have ever seen-I’ve shied away from patterns that start with a magic circle because it’s always been so awkward for me-I think I could do it like you do. Thank you, Jennifer!

    • @oakstrong1
      @oakstrong1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's how Iearnt to make it before I was shown a more complicated one. Actually, you can close any circle just as tightly without a magic circle, which is even easier, but I don't dare to say how because I never had to explain it to anyone and I haven't made anything circular for a long time. Something about crocheting over the tail... I learned it by following a tutorial and it wasn't explicitly shown as an alternative method. I used both this and the simpler method at random.

    As soon as you touched the cardboard I knew how you felt. I go through the same thing with styrofoam. I can't stand the feeling, and Lord help me if someone rubs it together. Fingers down a chalk board comes to mind. I have goosebumps just thinking about it. Thanks for the unplanned tutorial. LOL. Have a great weekend. See you tomorrow for another Yarn Porn Day...

    Hi Jennifer 👋
    Beautiful threads !! I'm not as patient as l once was, & I've got arthritis (getting old is NOT for weenies lol ) but every now & then I'll pull out the 2 thread balls l have & try to make something .My Nana made beautiful doilies & repaired lace for ppl and l have her metal one cigar case, with tiny steel hooks.
    I'm excited to see what you make with your beautiful threads !!
    Be well !🦋

    Beautiful together. When I learned to crochet, it was with a steel hook and #20 thread which was a tad bit bigger than sewing thread but smaller than yours which I have some of just not those colors.
    Thanks Jen for the idea of putting them w/different yarns.
    I still try to work with the thin thread/yarns but then I suffer for a few days after w/pain in my hand.

    I like metallic threads, I used to make large and small cookies with regular #10 thread for a friend to use as gifts for her business. The metallic I make Christmas ornaments like stars or snowflakes. JuJu might like some make earrings or stitch markers with it. What bling with that extra shine! Crochet World tends to often have earring patterns made from #10 threads. I have never put threads mixed with yarns, so this video is very interesting to me!

    Beautiful yarn. With regards to tangled yarn. I have no problem untangling the initial yarn barf that you get when you start a center pull. What is irritating is when you’ve successfully untangled the first bit, begin to crochet a few rows, and then another “wave” of yarn barf emerges. At times I will cut the yarn, undo the new bunch of tangles and then reattach to the project.

    As you know, I'm a threadie and don't like yarns more than 3 weight. Been using the garden metallic for years. Love when it goes on sale for 5 for $10! I've thought about holding thread with other yarns, but then I'd have to worry about laundering the project. Can NEVER accidentally put in hot because the thread will shrink and pucker the yarn project if it's not the same fiber content.
