Lucas going to the restroom reminded me of a time I was at a training meeting. During break the presenter forgot to turn his microphone off. Yep. We heard him the whole time in the bathroom. He didn’t realize what had happened until he went to turn the mic back on. Nobody said anything!

OH Jen! Thank you for taking us along with you. The National Park looks so beautiful! And the creek so refreshing. I am so glad that Lucas is enjoying this so much!. I do think he will become a traveler when he grows up. He will have his TH-cam channel and visit all these places and because of his enthusiasm he will have lots of followers. Mr Cinnamon looks calmer also. Funny how going bare foot helps you mentally. I grew up in the desert and hardly ever wore shoes. The hot sand was so soothing. And in the forests above us had crisp grass and sparkling creeks. You could sit alongs the banks or on huge rocks and cool your feet off and listen to the wind in the trees and tinkling sound of the water going over the rocks. Great memories. Thank you for helping me remember. Your purple shirt is going to be so beautiful on you, how wonderful. And I absolutely love your blanket, it is going to be gorgeous!! I hope that Mr Cinnamon's work is not too stressful so that he can recoup as well. I love how Juju is on Lucas's mind all the time, wanting to share his experiences with her. It is both rare and beautiful. Hope the girls and the puppies are having a wonderful time at home as well. Much love and prayers for a safe journey. Oh! And you can hand wash your brace, I do mine all the time. 😁 I just put is out in the sun to dry.

At first I was going to say NC but, it has the same time zone as Virginia. Then I was going to say TN but, you said you weren't in TN.🤔 So, I thought what about GA as it is about a 3 and a half hr drive from the smoky mountains but, it's the same time zone as VA. So, then I thought about KY, it's only about a 4 hr drive from the smoky mountains and has a different time zone 🤷🏼♀️ In any event, you are the only one that needs to know!😊

GM Jen ☕️☕️ , I’m guessing North Carolina. Since I’ve been taking magnesium L-threonate I noticed I’m sleeping better and deeper. The brand I chose is by Kappa nutrition and I take 2 before bed. This is the only form of magnesium that crosses the brain barrier. I’ve also learned that my mom didn’t take prenatal vitamins plus she was a heavy smoker so my body was depleted of essential vitamins and minerals that I need to replace. It’s a learning process.
My "hack" for travelling with allergies is to do tons of research ahead of time. I'm allergic to milk (plus lactose intolerant now that I don't do dairy), so I use a website called Go Dairy Free to find restaurants. I also Google places with vegan options and/or East Asian restaurants and favorite them on Google Maps, as well as Trader Joe's and Whole Foods locations.
My doctor also did not recommend going to an allergist, but prescribed epineprine. My reaction is delayed, but I've had trouble breathing.
How different things are...we were able to test for celiac with a blood test...after watching you talk about your issues I got tested...I'm in Canada.

I'm HIGHLY allergic to onions. I know it looks weird when we go to our favorite Greek diner. I order no onions and my husband orders everything with onions. I had asked for a fresh salad no onions. They brought me a premade salad where they just took the onions off, I smelled it and yup onion. I handed the salad to my husband and waitress was like what??? My husband said she's allergic to onions she cant have them at all. We ended up not getting charged for either salad but not the point. I thought I'd be ok with a Mc Donald's quarter pounder without onions, the manager literally looked at me and said 'UGH if you don't like onions just pick the shit off'. I said OH I love onions but I'm Fing allergic, I want a refund because I cant eat it. Burger King or Hardees? cant have anything out of the fryers. My friends and family get irritated with me because I'm like if they serve breakfast stuff I can eat there. Some of my friends understand and get it because they have issues too. Thank goodness I can cook from scratch.
There is a great yarn store in Gatlinburg called the smokey Mountain Spinnery, they have beautiful Fluff (Roving) and neat spinning wheels
The scenery you showed was so beautiFul. Gatlinburg is a huge no for me too! Makes me sad how populated and commercialized it is amongst alk that natural beauty. I have to laugh though that you said you hate tourist traps so much, since you love Disney. But everyone has their special place for fun and memories.❤ Continue to have a nice and safe trip. I lived in Tennessee for 15 years and moved back to Michigan last year. But I was in the central time zone because Cumberland County is the beginning of central time in the state.
I hand wash all my braces. Most wrist braces have a opening for the metal piece to slide out. Just remove it and handwash in the sink. Enjoy your trip. I think you are heading to Texas or Louisiana. 💙

I feel your pain on the food allergies. I'm allergic to tomatoes and anything that crawls, swims, or floats in the water and also gluten sensitive. My fiance learned the hard way about the seafood allergy. We had gone to a restaurant after I had a lower back injection and about 5 minutes into the meal I was in so much pain we needed to leave. So my fiance told me to go to the car and he would get our good boxed up. He git me a drink to go and put the straw in it and came to the car. About 3 minutes into the drive home my lips and tongue started going numb and my throat started feeling funny. It finally clicked that he had been eating shrimp and when he put the straw in my drink he cross contaminated my straw and I was drinking the drink. My epi pens were at home in my other purse so he had to turn around and rush me to the hospital becausei go into anaphylaxis. The Dr in the ER had so much fun picking on my fiance once the scare was over. Lesson learned LOL. We have very few restaurants we trust eating at, and if he wants something I can't be have he will sometimes grab something when out by himself. Hope you have safe & happy travels
I live in TN and alot of stuff that used to be free is not anymore and stuff that was supposed to stay free they are figuring out other ways to charge you, like you said skirting around. We live in middle TN by Center Hill Lake and a bunch of parks with waterfalls and they are finding ways to get the dollar unfortunately.

Traveling is SO hard when you can't eat gluten. Celiac diseased has changed my life in so many ways. I used to love traveling and now I hate it. I use the find me gluten free app but still, it causes anxiety and stress and especially if I'm on the road, ugh. I usually end up at a grocery store. :(
Oh Jen my daughter and I live in Trader Joes! They have the best gluten free items I usually have to rack up on them when my bestie comes from upstate NY because they don’t have a Trader Joe’s. The blueberry muffins are fantastic as it their cinnamon one and they are all gluten free. The bagels are good and now they have madelines and other sweets that are gluten free. They’re also not expensive as some other gluten items. Happy travels and ugh I love seeing all the beautiful wonders you see

In July we are doing a trip to northwest NC then through TN to northwest Arkansas I'm sure it will be beautiful, but I'll be driving so I will not get a lot of road shots

The fryer issue is huge. My daughter is severely allergic to shellfish, but can eat cod, perch etc. She ordered a fried fish sandwich, but it was the same fryer they fry shellfish in. She was sick within 20 minutes and Luke you, it lasts for days.

My daughter has Celiac and was diagnosed with Crohn’s too so our family totally gets your frustration with restaurants. We have found getting food from grocery stores to be a lifesaver when traveling. We have had the same thing happen with servers that don’t care 😢. We have a travel trailer and love it because we eat most of our meals in it and don’t have to worry about cross contamination.
We have had to do this too.

Jen, thank you for telling me about the $1.99 crochet hook. I love it. Also, if you're traveling through Farmington NM, our Hobby Lobby has no clearance yarn. Restaurants need to educate their employees about gluten allergies. There are so many people I know who have gluten allergies. My sis n law has that silica she gets very sick with getting none gluten. She gets very sick. Yes, you can wash your brace and let it dry in the sun or on the dashboard. Safe travels.

Thank you sharing! I love Gatlinburg, TN. My husband & I were there as band chaperones for my daughter's high school band trip years ago. We always wanted to go back in the fall for all the foliage color but my husband passed away before we had the chance. Enjoyed seeing it again through your travels!

Smoky Mts. you were in my backyard, I live in Knoxville, TN. The mountains are so majestic and peaceful whenever you are able to get away from the congested areas. I'm with you Jen, I hate the commercialism of Gattlinburg and Pidgeon Forge and Sevierville, like I said if you get away from the congested areas it is very pleasant. Great photos of your brief visit to Tennessee mountains♥Jen they are always a ton of people in that area no matter the weather or time of season. Hope you enjoyed your time while in the park.

Hi Jennifer, I understand the age gap in the children. My daughter has 2 girls, and they're 17 years apart, a 27, and 10 year old. Yes, she waited until she was almost done, and she remarried and had another baby. And I couldn't love her anymore than infinity and beyond ❤.

Oh, Jen, be careful. Three weeks ago, I passed out and woke up on the floor with my nose bleeding profusely. I had a broken nose. It is still broken. We've decided to leave it alone and let it heal itself. I still have bruising and my nose hurts if I touch it.
I grew up in N. California. My hubby is from N E Tennessee. He gets mad when I ask him where the water falls are😂😂😂 They have flumes. Not real falls. 😂😂😂😂 ❤36 years and we still Debate this point 😊
I’m non celiac sensitivity so if I get a little, I don’t get sick that way. America’s Test Kitchen has some gluten free recipe books that I just ordered. Looking forward to trying it.
I don’t know what kind of brace you have but I have washed and dried mine and it was ok. Black nylon with metal stays inserted and Velcro straps. Don’t dry it on high. My brace fit inside my hockey glove and I wore it sweatband playing hockey lol.

That was absolutely beautiful. I loved the pictures and the video footage. I have vertigo but I only had to look down a couple of times with the train but the rest was like being in the car with yall. OMG how awesome. I have only been to one National Park when I was in the fifth grade. I dont think I have been since but I remember how beautiful it was and how fresh the air was!

Hi Jen, if you plan on going through more National Parks, check into getting a pass that covers several different park fees. If Mr cinnamon work for government he may get a discount as well. We got a pass and get veteran discount and it saved lots. Have fun! Love the pics and video of the park.
