Again, an amazingly detailed review with loads of useful information. It deserves 158,000 views not 15,800 but it'll receive more every months as it'll remain a useful resource for at least the next couple of years. Extremely well done, Rob Brand. We have to love how Rob doesn't just give us the schmaltzy presentation of so many other TH-camrs who pretend everything is first class and wonderful. Instead, Rob qualifies his reviews. If a breakfast is 'average' or a room 'rustic' (a code word for 'not so good', 'dated' or 'very basic lacking mod cons or even expected facilities') Rob will tell us without fear or favour.
Thanks Edmund. The video doing well! Bantayan is not as big tourist destination as some other places. Maybe with the runway extention which will allow flights direct from Manila things will change.

Thanx! Good one! Hoping for a trip july 2022. I think as a family (2 kids 14, 17) it will be a bit harder to find family rooms but Jellys had at good prices :) But Amihan was the one I liked the most.
My fiancee and I stayed at Hoyohoy Villas on our first visit to Bantayan Island and we enjoyed our stay there. This past April we stayed in a beach house near Santa Fe Beach Club, Bantayan Island is a nice place to visit and fortunately for us a nearby attraction as my fiancee lives in northern Cebu Island.
Thanks for making this video. Planning to go to Bantayan Island next time I visit the Phlippines. Your video gave me the opportunity to scout the places to stay before booking for accomodations.
You're welcome! I've done some other vids in Bantayan on things to see and do and also other accommodation options. These were my fav places to stay. I spent around 3 months there so I was able to go into more details. Have fun in Bantayan.

Here in Europe we are using Greenpass meaning if you are vaccinated you can get this and we are back travelling around europe without such strict protocol that Philippines is doing. And the liquor ban, what is that all about? Only in the Philippines. Based on your reviews we will try to find our place to stay😉so far, Bantayan is awesome!😊

Well there's nothing 5 star. But casita room an Amihan resort is nice. A balcony overlooking the ocean. They were building a jacuzzi when I was there, so you may want to check with resort if it's completed yet. You can see the room and view in the video. Cheers.

True. But they have recently extended for larger aircraft the airport there. So you will be able to fly direct like from Manila. I guess it will take a bit for demand to pick up for this though. When people start to travel more.
Great review Rob...It was your review of Bantayan Island from a few years ago, that helped me pick Kota Beach Resort. We got a beachfront cabin, and absolutely loved it. Your top two look worthy of looking in to. Number 3 looked like it didn't have a sand beach, only a beach wall? Question for you...do you recall the cost for a 1 day motor bike rental on Bantayan? I cant wait to go back...Salamat!
Thanks Karl. It does have a beach in front of the wall (although the sand is underwater at high tide) and at the front of the resort (before you enter) there's a bit of a beach. As far as the bike I got it for 200 per day I did rent for a while though as you have more bargining power. I did talk bout this in my best of Bantayan series (just to give a plug!) I can't remember which one though ( I think part 2) and I put a contact number of someone you can rent a bike from below. Malapascua is the way to go for diving. Although Victory Divers said they were looking for new spots to dive around Kinatarkan. There are some nice spots to swim at the beaches in Bantayan.

Don't we all! I did once take a boat direct from Malapascua to Bantayan I think it was around 3 hours, I think i even did a video on it. The resorts in Malapascua are generally smaller as the island is a lot smaller. Anyhow they are both beautiful islands
I've stayed in Amihan, although its beautiful, the food is good and beach is amazing. The water supply is so bad, we ran out of water while I was showering. The hotel should find a way to fix it.

No Im back in Cebu City. Cebu has gone back into MECQ with this delta varient so there's a lot more restrictions now. When it goes back to GCQ you will be able to.

I cant imagine it being completely shut down with the amount of people.
Cebu went into MECQ at the start of August, prior to that (all of 2021) it was GCQ. As of today the covid cases were still increasing I think yesterday it was 14 k new cases. MECQ has been extended till the end of August and will probably go longer until they get it more under control. You are allowed to travel from one GCQ area to another GCQ area but depending on local governments of the area, requirements will be slightly different (ie swap tests etc). Yes there are some food ventors operating, from where I am there are some just around the corner. Maybe try to email some of the resorts in Mactan to see what they are offering.
I had a quick look when I was staying at Anika but there was no one around at the time. I didn't get a chance to get back. They were saying Anika used to rent your cottages? Anyhow I can message you next time I come to Bantayan so i can stay. Cheers. Rob
When I was filming this they were installing optical fiber to the island, In theory most should have faster wifi than when I was there. I liked the speed at Amihan when I was there. Hopefully it's better with the fiber network. You may want to contact them direct to see what they say.
I never tried so I'm not sure. Generally if the place has it's own restaurant then no as they want you to buy from them. Smaller resorts especially family run ones you'll have a better chance. Just message the resort directly in Facebook.

Yeah sorry I did mention in some. The 1st one Marlins had wifi. You can ask me about any resort. Just as i was there they were installing the cable network in Santa Fe so in theory speeds will be better.
@@FindingParadise bantayan is a beautiful place ! yes I heard some mentions no problem 😉 just that it seems to be top priority for guests where they choose to stay, we brought cable up to us and every bungalow has its own private wifi router that’s much appreciated 👍😀 we are on Siquijor @ Southmountain Resort

I think it's inevitable unfortunately. There's now the flight from Mactan Airport. It's only a matter of time before direct flightsfrom Manila. I've seen some photos of the resort that being build at the old Budyong - looks like its going to be a multi storey building . And then there's that more upmarket resort near Balidbid Lagoon moving along quickly.

I stayed at Amihan for three nights. Loved it so much. So peaceful and felt so secluded even though it was just a short walk to the town.
Yeah it's an awesome place to stay. I hope I can get back there one day soon.

I didn't have that issue when I stayed. Maybe it was Island water issue? Did they tell you the reason?

I had a quick look when I was staying at Anika but there was no one around at the time. I didn't get a chance to get back. They were saying Anika used to rent your cottages? Anyhow I can message you next time I come to Bantayan so i can stay. Cheers. Rob

Which resort offers the best wifi connection? Im planning for a longer stay but need excellent wifi for work.
When I was filming this they were installing optical fiber to the island, In theory most should have faster wifi than when I was there. I liked the speed at Amihan when I was there. Hopefully it's better with the fiber network. You may want to contact them direct to see what they say.
Hi.....These resorts if i buy fish at the markets say,,,,,will the resorts cook it for you at a price?
I never tried so I'm not sure. Generally if the place has it's own restaurant then no as they want you to buy from them. Smaller resorts especially family run ones you'll have a better chance. Just message the resort directly in Facebook.
Can you pay to use any of the pools at hotels in bantayan island?
You can at Bantayan Island Nature Park and Resort on day use.

If you hire from the hotel/resort they tend to be higher and if you rent longer you can negotiate better rates

Yeah sorry I did mention in some. The 1st one Marlins had wifi. You can ask me about any resort. Just as i was there they were installing the cable network in Santa Fe so in theory speeds will be better.
@@FindingParadise bantayan is a beautiful place ! yes I heard some mentions no problem 😉 just that it seems to be top priority for guests where they choose to stay, we brought cable up to us and every bungalow has its own private wifi router that’s much appreciated 👍😀 we are on Siquijor @ Southmountain Resort

Cheers, I was there in Siquijor before the covid mess, but I stayed around San Juan area. Looks peaceful at Southmountain.

I think it's inevitable unfortunately. There's now the flight from Mactan Airport. It's only a matter of time before direct flightsfrom Manila. I've seen some photos of the resort that being build at the old Budyong - looks like its going to be a multi storey building . And then there's that more upmarket resort near Balidbid Lagoon moving along quickly.

Haha. Well Bantayan Island is more provincial than more touristy spots like Boracay so you expectations have to be lowered a little.
