I need a nap just listening to all this crazy talk lol I kid buddy and wish you and yours nothing but health, prosperity, and happiness in all your ventures!
Hi Kevin. I sold on eBay , maybe 15 years ago, and I did quit. It wasn't because I didn't love it, but life took over. I retired almost 3 years ago and got bored. First thought was ebay. I had lots of stuff to sell from moving to Georgia. I love it, and I won't quit until I can no longer do it. Ebay is the only platform I sell on. We don't have alot of yard sales close, and the flea markets are about an hour away. The estate sales in this area, being near Athens, are outstanding. You constantly help me with my business. Thank you!
Friday yard sales here haven't existed in years; they're all Saturday and Sunday. I hit one Sunday sale maybe once a year, if I can get there before church. If I were actively reselling I'd probably have to do private picks too. Last weekend I found four tag sales. Total. Couldn't even spend $10 between them. I think in this area they're dying out as a Thing.
My business is about where you were in 2021. It took a lot of work to get me there. Your views on goals for future business is very interesting. I haven’t modeled my business after years, but it is very similar. Too see you advancing forward and what you learn is extremely helpful to not only for myself and everybody else who watches you continuously. Thank you as always great work.
Very interesting. Since I went full time my sales are great , social security doesn't pay the bills but eBay sales make up the difference plus which is good since I fell getting in my car and broke my arm , makes packing things a little difficult takes me a little more time. Have a happy day!
Some great food for thought. I LOVE eBay. Tried the Whatnot, not my favorite. As a part time seller it stretches me too thin to incorporate the live selling. I decided just gonna focus on eBay for a while, figure it out and build my store there
Hi Kevin, I have a request for a topic . It is on your switching to flat rate shipping. I bounced the cost for flat rate size boxes against the shipping cost of calculated shipping and flat rate is way more. Maybe I am doing something wrong and I dont see anyother way it would work to switch to flat rate. Would love to hear a vlog on how you feel or what you are doing that makes flat rate a better way for your buyers. Thanks so much for all of your content. I have been selling for about 22 years off and on, at least 12 years and am having to ramp it up because hubby had to retire early to help take care of me and the house. Am also planning on trying a live on dibdit. All the best on your endeavors.
I think it’s awesome that you have such wonderful help to be able to do all these places to sell. But Ive been wondering does anyone feel now with all the live shows now everywhere if it has taken away orders from eBay? I love all the ways to sell but when you don’t have the resources to do all the live shows plus eBay, I have wondered if we don’t do all these things that just by staying on eBay the sells are not as much for someone. I love that reselling is growing but if we don’t have the resources to sell live on different shows plus eBay and all the other ones, has anyone seen a drop in eBay sells. Just wondered. I feel I need to figure out how to increase my stuff out there without help. Have a great day
My husband was watching your video and still thinks I’m doing something wrong because I’m too stupid to know what I’m doing. I’m not making $1000 and he thinks after 3 1/5 years I should be making at least $500/month. So he still wants me to give up doing this stupid crap. I have a death pile I’m trying to list before I buy anything more but I really don’t have the right equipment to do a really good job. I use a table and a regular table lamp to take my pictures then I use photoroom to help with the background. Plus I’m camera shy and wouldn’t be good on doing live shows.
Funny, my mother is the exact same way. My father tells her to quit buying junk all the time. I have to be the mediator between the two of them. 😂 In a way, he's right. You are wasting your time if you have been at it that long and not making $500/mo. I hate to break that too you, but there is a reason why you aren't making $500/mo! It could be your listing habits, prices, or even your items. If you are just working part time or even selling as a hobby, $500/mo isn't really attainable unless you are listing and selling high value items. The algorithm favors certain habits so it could be something that you are doing that you may not realize is hurting your sales. One thing I do that helps my sales is promoted listings. I "2%" everything. Yes, it costs more in the end, but the amount of sales I make outweighs the couple dollars in fees I am charged. Do some research for others that sell on the same level that you do and see what methods they use and adopt those methods into your own regimen and see if there is a change in sales. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right method down, but that's just part of the fun! 😁
I don’t make much money and I don’t keep a death pile. My husband understands me and is happy that I can pay some bills. My family thinks I should get a job.
I’ve been selling part time on Etsy and eBay. I have about 600 items in my eBay. I’m averaging about $500/month this year. I promote most items at 3%. About 50% of my sales are from promoted listings. I’m hoping to retire soon and hope I can increase to $1000/month when I have more time to list. I have a lifetime supply in my death pile and family wants me to get rid of it too.
What did you do to increase your ebay sales besides do flat rate shipping amd try to sell items at minimim of $15? Ebat has been dreadful last few weeks for me, sales way down.
Agree, do you promote or do you change shipping. I sure miss just being able to just sell without all the back and forth. Our numbers are down 50% this month.
I sell luxury women’s fashion and I just started selling on eBay again. Have my first 50 items listed and sold three within a few days. I don’t know why I stopped listing there !
Hi CWF. I enjoy your content and have gained insightful knowledge to apply. Question: I often use promoted rates, 10-12 percent, when listing to increase exposure. ..but I’m finding that the ad fees and listing fees are resulting in a 20-25 percent decrease in sales revenue. Would it behoove me to offer free shipping to the buyer? Shipping costs are averaging about 7 dollars. If I eat the shipping cost I would be lowering the promo fees and also, I would think, increasing my viewership because of the psychological aspect it has on potential buyers. I know I would have to experiment, but what’s your take on this strategy? Thanks- Casey.
Have you thought about buying liquidation pallets? I got a few lots dabbled in movies, cosmetics, and unclaimed mail. The unclaimed mail is very hit and miss, mostly miss. The other lots I have got I just got all of it listed. Its been two weeks non stop slamming ebay with listings. I am starting to grow more random sales. It feels good to wake up or get out of the shower to more sold items.😂
@@commonwealthflipper 😂 You are correct! It has been. I'm starting to like selling shelf pulls, but I think I am going to try a different category next time. My hobbies involve automotives and that category is the highest selling category on eBay so I am thinking about dabbling over there next time.
Have you ever considered just live-streaming your flipper content and seeing how that goes? I’m sure you edit out some filler stuff but you could potentially eliminate editing just to livestream pulling orders and stuff.
Try taking a new approach if what your doing is getting you 500 add different items to your eBay listing learn about new things there is a ton of money in parting out broken item that you can buy for nothing keep going don’t get discouraged you already have the knowledge on how to sell and ship just learn more about what to sell and you will be fine Good luck 🍀

I watch Resale Rabbit - I'm beginning to see some similarities. The boss runs the show, but each employee has a particular area. This allows the boss to do what he likes best, while the listing, selling, and auctioning can go on without as much of his involvement. Buying the merchandise drives the business - it is the highest-skill area. When Kevin builds a loading dock so 18-wheelers can deliver goods, then we'll know his plan is working! 😀😀😀
To make the comparison more serious, Rabbit has revealed his annual revenue is about $550K, but he now has 3 full-time W-2 employees - with FICA, FUI, SUI, and workman's comp that's probably $150-200K in payroll. Rabbit is also paying rent of $115K a year on his 16,000 square foot warehouse. Kevin's operation is much leaner, and less of a business and more fun, and he doesn't have to pay rent for his sheds. Looking at hours of work by the boss, Kevin is probably quite a bit higher. It looks to me that Kevin has found a road to higher profitability with only about half the gross sales.
Sounds like a good plan, but careful, you know the axiom about business growing too fast. Don’t want to see you all be forced to downsize again. And … careful, you’re in danger of talking all the other teachers out of the schools lol😂

I think he meant a self choosen rate. Not usps flat rate priority.
I am not talking about usps priority flat rate prices and boxes. I’m talking about setting a flat rate on shipping an item any way I choose.
