- My first trip out with a Hush Power Shotgun!! Wow.. Just wow!
Why haven't I used one of these sooner?!
They are incredibly quiet and very effective when you put the lead in the right place.
You join me on a new permission where they have a bit of a corvid problem on their dairy farm. I set up on a drilled maize field just behind the sheds and it wasn't long before they started to come! I had a great time playing with this Mossberg .410 Hush Power that a friend kindly lent me.

Not many things i'm jealous of with Britian when it comes to firearms but easy access to suppressors is definitely one of them. Great shooting.

I got a 410 hushpower last year took a week or two to get used to it , now its the only thing i use and yes you can get get some amazing shots with them .

Took my Hushpower 20g out yesterday properly for the first time since buying it. As someone who's spent my whole life shooting O/U & SxS, remembering to pump and reload cost me countless birds. Seeing you go through the same struggle made me laugh. Great video

I had one of those little Mossberg .410's when I was a kid. They are good little guns, and the .410 is a heck of a little shell.

@fieldsportswithspeed I think they only made them with extra full chokes. They hit hard, right where you point them.
My friend and I use to hunt on a turkey farm because the crows were eating the free-range turkey feed. We used a live Great Horned owl for a decoy and I have never seen anything like it. We keep shooting and shooting hundreds of crows because no matter how much we shot they did not seem to care because they wanted to attack that owl.

Where and how did you acquire a live great horned owl to use as a hunting decoy?
@@jonathangreenhalge8459 My friend's Dad was the state trapper and he caught it in a trap. The owl only had one eye from an injury. I think the owl had been killing a farmer's ranged turkeys. I actually felt sorry for the owl. I don't know if he died in captivity or if they released him. I really like owls.

My dad taught me to shoot, i wanted a 410. The old man said that was for girl's. First time i fired a 12 bore it scared me to death! Soon got used to it. Great video. Cheers

@@fjb4932 my dad was just tight! He only bought one gun and that was with his demob money. He rescued one gun from a farmers outside loo! A pagewood if I remember correctly. When I started to earn my on money I built up quite a gun collection, from 410 too 10 guage. Enjoyed them all, I don't shoot anymore due to health problems but my mate still owns the 303 that was converted to 410 that I bought and loved. Cheers
I have a mossberg 410 struggling with it but I have had a few with it and I agree about the range
If you haven’t done so already I’d definitely recommend shooting it a few times at a pattern plate as this gun shot a lot lower than I was expecting!! It might be worth a look 👍

I found myself little bolt action Bretton .410 moderated. Single shot but full barrel length mod so its only 42" total length. Using those Eley subs its quieter than my .22LR.

the 410 is very under rated,,,,,,,,,,,,,shot one for years number. 9s for Quail & number. 6s for every thing else including Peasants

Do you find you have to cover the target with the supressor? If i use the bead at the end it shoots way too low!
Awesome job! Would love to see if the suppressor helps hold the pattern. Muzzle blast does emanate faster than the shot column and could disrupt the shot

I hunt with hushed firearms too. Because I hunt over a nut orchard to reduce squirrel losses plus fill my stew pot. I can fill my limit before 8:30 in the morning.

@@fieldsportswithspeed Such a shame Mossberg don't do a decent stock length and comb height.Gun fit on small bores is critical I struggle with most stocks as I need a 15" lop and slight cast right and comb height adjusting.Only 2 guns that ever fitted me with out faff and patterned well are Beretta Gold Mallard and the Armsan A612 (custom butt pad spacer 15mm).Looking forward to more videos 👍😁

you got to grips with that good shooting, got a 20 bore version can't get on with it even with a raised comb. stocks are very short which is a pain.
I had my moments haha thank you! They are a very strange gun to shoot. I must admit I did have to use a box of shells on a pattern plate to trust where it was shooting. But great fun one I got the hang of it 👍

Three questions...., #1, you shooting 2 1/2" (63mm) or 3" (75mm)?
#2, what size shot?
#3, How much is a box of 25 (.410 bore) in the U.K.? 3" in the U.S. (if you can find them) run $38 and up. 2.5" are $20 and up/25ct..
Eley 6 shot 18 gram 3” shells at about £10 a box of 25 👍
Amazing that suppressors are allowed in GB when there are so many other restrictions. I would like to know the average range of your shots and the construction on your barrel.
Full choke on these well that’s what mine is anyway

Great shooting i love these hushpowers ive had a few in the past but got rid wish id kept mine so tomorrow off to buy a new one as im doing crows and barn pigeons around two huge farms i have these are ideal for not spooking cattle near by .ps what crow deeks are you using they seem very affective at drawing them close in .

Hi I got my new hushpower been using it on crows and barn pigeon. I would like to know did you find it patterns low mine was putting all the shot well below the aim point so I've had to use a neoprene stock cover with a cheek insert to raise my head and this has raised the pattern .thanks

Have you ever reloaded your own cartridges and used plastic wads or bought ammo with plastic wads and run it through your hushpower?
I haven’t no, I would love to try it in the future though 👍
@@fieldsportswithspeed Just wondering because there is a massive divide between folks who say not to use plastic wads as the plastic wad petals could sheer and clog up the muzzle/silencer and others saying that the build up is so fractional that it is fine to shoot them. Ha I'd grab up some hodgdons lil gun or h110 if/whilst you can :) 12 grains of lil gun or 15 grains of h110 for 1/2 ounce loads :)
@@fieldsportswithspeed Keep some of your spent cartridges, though 410 is a little more fiddly and limiting to reload compared to 12 gauge

Hi mate! Good eye! I do yes bud, I shoot my guns very high. I find it easier to find the line on a target and completely trust where the gun is shooting 👍
@@fieldsportswithspeed ok makes sense, I like mine a little high - I’ve just stuck a comb raiser on it and will see how that goes! Gave it a good clean earlier as when I took the can off loads of crap fell out!
