@@koolfredsbimmertech5617 I’m on the same boat. Mechanic charge me 6.5 hours for one of thermostat(it got 2). While he doing the work. He found water pump is leaking. Better change it. I goes “alright do what ever you need to do.”he charged me 3.5hours extra labor for water pump. So all up is 10 hours labor. Feel a little got ripped off.
@@XX-ud7hj on the G05 X5, I believe the thermostat aka the heat management module is under the intake manifold. So that’s why that repair was 6.5 hours. Good Luck!
Wow 2022 with 31K and already leaking. Ever have the coolant level indicator pop off and float around in the reservoir? What causes that the pressure? Or a flimsy connection?.
@@emperorsanders5744 I don’t even remember when you at the dealer and on flat rate sometimes u come up with a short cut. There is a clip on the charge air pipe at the turbo. Once that clip is out u good to go.
It’s a vacuum coolant filler. It uses compressed air to pull a vacuum then it sucks in the coolant. If u use one of those systems you don’t have to bleed the cooling system.
In the middle of this job now and the bottom left bolt is offset right behind the crank pulley and can’t get my T30 bit in it due to space. Any suggestions?🙏🏼
Update* Took a long T30 bit, took my grinder and narrowed down the shaft thin enough to give me the clearance between the water pump pulley & Crank pulley to get the bottom left bolt out.
Wow! That bad boy was leaking leaking!
Could you show how to flush the coolant in the 2020 BMW X5, and how to bleed the air process.
Great Video Fred, question for you I'm in the market for a used B58 X5 any years recommendations? thanks in advance
Nice job. Just wondering how long is get changed?
2.5-3 hrs

@@OscarCastillo1 This one was leaking from the plastic plug on the bottom of the pump.
Warranty needs that front crankshaft seal back 😂
I have the same x5, do you guys know the water pump part #? ty
I would recommend going to the dealer with your vin # because year to year the part # can & may change.
Have you got a video on the oil pump replacement on the G20 m340i?
@@adsali03 No Sir, I’ve only seen 2 techs at my shop do oil pumps on that engine.
Is this the same process and same part for the 2021 m340 with mild 48v hybrid?
@@19nolo80 The Process is similar the part number is possibly different.
@@koolfredsbimmertech5617 thank you
How did you love the charge pipe without removing airbox?

is the machine required to refill the coolant? or can it be done just by adding to the tank, any proper steps to bleed the system?

U can buy and use a ball torx T30 socket of you’ll have to remove the harmonic balancer.

@@JD_Wild Sounds good! That’s a lot better than running to the parts store to buy a new tool. Especially when u are in the middle of the job!
how much does it cost to replace this in USA through a dealer or Indy. I am trying to figure out should I do it myself vs getting it done.
@@emperorsanders5744 Labor time to replace if the car is out of warranty is around 5.7 hrs. Then you would multiply that times your shops labor rate.
@@emperorsanders5744 Labor rates vary from state to state.
Where is your shop located at?

I thought the newer BMW uses green coolant? Or is okay is use the blue? Thanks!
They come with green from the factory. U can use blue if you’re doing a coolant flush.
