This is THE retro frontend in my opinion. I've used Retropie a ton and less so others like Lakka, Retrobat etc. Batocera is just so straightforward and nice looking. It's so easy to make a retro console out of anything. I'm running it on a Pi400 with a 500GB SSD and it's superb.
has anyone found a solution to the keyboard mapping problem? when using c64, or amiga certain keys are not working on the left side- like the keys QAZWSX. if turning on "game focus" using scroll lock key, the keys will work, but then you cant exit using the hotkey. is there a real fix for this problem? i'm using ras pi 4 and batocera v38.
Hi, running a pi4B connected to a TV via mico hdmi, updated to v38. I cannot figure out why I do not have audio (port 0/closest to USB-c power). From main menu nor from in-game doesn't seem to affect anything. Any suggestions? I'm brand new to all of this and have lots of questions.
For some reason my pi imager in fedora generates the folders under a different “owner” than me. So it makes it and boots fine but I can’t add or edit t anything since I’m not the owner and only an owner can change permissions.
So I have the 1tb bat overs on pi400 on a 2tb ssd it says update now but when I try to it just comes up with an error not enough space not sure what to do I’ve tried using a separate 256g as card as the external still nothing ? Any help you can help (no tech skills at all by the way
I think the not enough space maybe refers to the boot partition where the system files reside. Your SSD likely has a ~6gig userdata partition to boot from, and a ~1.8tb partition with all your media on. Do a search on resizing boot with GParted or do a clean install (like I did)
I also had Batocera on my Pi4. But removed it and downloaded Batocera for PC. Just because I Could not play the Xbox, PS 2,3 and 4 on the PI4 Batocera. Can you play these now on the V38?
Batocera is much more user friendly as well as offering more options which are easier to get to rather than using Retropie's "DOS-like" UI to download things.
I installed it on my Chromebook with the 64 bit version of it but I'm having mediocre results not even the nes plays well. It is a HP Chromebook G5 EE, I think the CPU is too weak to handle batocera.

Yeah it's not bad. It's especially great if you want a dedicated machine for retro gaming.

Have you tried looking at audio settings from main menu?

Ok. Try Etcher.

Hey. Ps3 will never run on a pi4.
@@JustJamie1983 Thanks for the info.
Even now with the Pi 5 I think the best you'll get is gamecube and that generation.
Cool what’s the difference between this and retropie ?

OK. I would suggest installing again.
Excellent video. I found it invaluable.
Ah excellent to hear. Glad to have helped. Do check out my other Setup guides. Plenty of them here on my channel.
awesome review.. bye bye retropie. Bato FTW!
Thanks. I'm afraid to say that Batocera is much better. Retropie was great once but frontends like this is far superior and much more user friendly.
