Drive in Chill mode, set charge limit to 80% and just drive and enjoy the car! congrats. Its definitely a change in dynamic's when you drive; Coasting for braking, keeping additional room (vehicle distance) in front of you will help smooth out the braking. When it comes to supercharging, trust the nav. If it says youll arrive at a lower SoC (state of charge) THATS FINE, and it will plan your stops. if it says charge 15-20 mins to continue the trip, Follow the guidance, you DONT need to charge to 80% EACH stop. This is where alot of NEW tesla owners get so overly frustrated with traveling in a Tesla. Lots of GREAT information out there, continue to research and looking up stuff. Enjoy the new whip!
So welcome to the Tesla family, I myself am on my 2nd Tesla, I’m now driving a 2024 Tesla M/S with the yolk steering wheel, and at first I didn’t like it. I thought maybe that I had made a mistake, and I should’ve gotten the round steering wheel, but because I don’t really drive the car, the car drives itself, because I have FSD, but it didn’t take me that long to get used to driving with it, but when I initially got the car, and drove it out onto the street, it was quite exhilarating, and somewhat scary at the same time, because I had to drive manually for a while until the auto pilot initialized itself, and when that kicked in, I went immediately to auto pilot, and let the car steer itself, and that made the trip a lot easier, because I was about 25 miles or so away from my house where I picked up the car. So the best way to drive the car is in the hold mode where the car uses regenerative braking to slow the car down and eventually it will stop, however, if you need to use the brakes, you should use the brakes to actually stop the car, because remember, these systems are there to assist you in your driving not to actually take over all the driving for you, and that includes FSD as well. So as a point of information, the Tesla Associates at their service centers/showrooms, do not get paid a commission, because they’re not sales people, they’re there to take care of the customers in terms of any questions you have about the cars, the ordering process/payment process, etc. but not to actually sell you a car, because again that’s not their business model. So safe travels and looking forward to seeing you in your next video. Cheers 🥂
thank you so much for all this information! I was definitely curious if they made a commission since it didn't seem like they were sales people - so thank you for clearing that up for me! I'm definitely getting more used to driving the car now and I quite enjoy it! I'm really excited to see how it drives as I continue to learn more about it :) Have the happiest of holidays!!!
Congratulations! I too live my Y. As to the acceleration , I recommend changing to Chill mode. Not only will it be more comfortable in everyday driving but you’ll save on tire wear and increase range as less power is used.
Regenerative braking is adjustable via the controls but it's not actually using the brakes. It's using the electric motor to capture the energy and put it back into the battery. I find that I don't use the brake peddle much and only use regen. The more you use regen the more range you'll get.
I have a Model Y & Cybertruck, love them both… for Tesla service is good imo - I’m not sure when the last time u been to a “normal car dealership” but the service is awful, the workers know nothing about newer cars… so I like Tesla to be hands off because I’ve already researched the car, just give me the keys 😂
Honestly it's been awhile since I've been to one so I believe you!!! The hands off aspect was definitely a new experience for me but I'm always down for new experiences!

You SAVED MY LIFE with the chill mode!!! I had no idea it existed and it drives so much smoother now! Thank you so much!!!

@ You’re very welcome! Happy holidays to you too! 🦃💐
Use chill mode if you get car sick. I have never used it. lol. I love the acceleration .
Chill mode has become my best friend! The acceleration scares me a bit but my boyfriend is like you, he loves it!

That totally makes sense! I try to use regen as much as possible but this is great info to know!
You will get sick at the start, but after that you get used to it. Happened to me! but i love this car
I'm definitely getting more used to it! loving it more and more every day
