When we were about to decide, what microphone we get for our studio to be able to record the full length album... actually our (for the live shows) sound engineer told me: "Heeey, why don't you use this Aston Origin mic you got for the overheads?". I was like... "Ummm you sure? You saw the price? We need to get a PRO product". Then he continued: "Ah okay, how about you tried it first...?". Well I couldn't be more wrong. This mic is an absolute killer and overdelivers MULTIPLE times for it's price. We now use only this mic and combined with Focusrite "AIR" function, it is just amazing. What a hidden treasure it is. Guess one has to listen to his own sound engineer lol. Cheers!
Love this mic! I do prefer this over more expensive mics. Also have the Spirit. Fantastic company. I am inspired by this mic, I have so many mics and this is the only mic I feel this way about. Loved how it was on my voice from the first note I sang into it. Have both the silver finish and black one!!
Wow! Great to hear! I agree with you! I will post a new video in a couple of days, that video is all about an A / B comparison in between the Spirit and the Origin. // Andreas
Hi! I think it’s really good to go for this mic in your situation. But I would prefer the Aston Spirit for male voices in genres as pop / rap etc. I think you get slightly more attack and punch to the syllables as “b”, “p”... I hope that could help! :) / Andreas
I use to go for the same kind of mic position when fingerpicking. If you want to you can go for stereo position as well, but then you new two microphones. :) The 12 th fret, 1 dm distance that’s also one of my favorite position for the mic. But my best advice is to move the microphone / microphones around and listen in headphones at the same time as someone plays the instrument. Go for where you think the guitar sounds the best. I mix the sound in pro tools and then export the audio file and import it to Premier. And then just sync video and audio in premier. :) You can mix in Premier as well but the work flow is a bit more time consuming I think. :) // Andreas
The Origin is connected to my interface (Apollo Twin MK2) and recorded straight into Pro Tools without any processing. The signal is unprocessed, just the sound of the guitar picked up with the Origin. :) // Andreas
@@andreasforsberg-innovation980 🤣. What I’m saying is, my amp has an xlr input, but no phantom power, so do I need an adaptor in between?, I don’t want to record
@@jjdeville7884 I see! :) This mic is in need of phantom power. So it seems that you must have some kind of phantom power device before the signal reaches your amp. :)
You are right! I prefer the Aston Spirit distortion for vocals the most, especial male vocals. I tend to go for AKG C414 rather than the Origin when recording acoustic guitar. But the Aston is kind of good due to that it’s easy to just grab and plug it in. :) Easy to use mic that comes with some pros and cons, but as you mentioned it’s about taste. The Taylor guitar that I used for this recording is kind of bright... 😊👍🏻 /// Andreas
Stort tack för recensionen!

How do I use it for fingerpicking and singing at the same time...and with what program do I mix sound and video. Thank you

Witch serie ??
ما هو الافضل ؟
Aston or rod nt1a
I prefer Aston, I think that vocal sounds like “p” “s” “b” “t” “k” sound much more “expensive” than other microphones in that price range. 😊🙌🏻⭐️
I want male vocal test.
Does this plug straight into an amp

@@jjdeville7884 just get an sm58 or some modern dynamic microphone, you don't want a condenser microphone and deal with the feedback
I hear distortion from that mic to be honest..maybe it s about taste but i do not like the sound...actualy too much high end
