It is phenomenal. It's extremely powerful because it's brushless. And with a 6.0 high out put battery I can do a whole car. The ONLY complaint I have is that it's a lil heavy. But if you really care about that, you could get compact 3.0 batteries
Brian I’ve used this tool for 3 years now in my mobile detailing business it has been a very good polisher never had a problem with it. It gets used at least 3 to 4 times a week. Highly recommend!
Great video as always Brian and satisfying to hear you approve. I bought a 15mm earlier this year but the trigger and lock didn’t work properly out of the box. Sent back for warranty repair and wanted to share that it was a positive experience. Complete communication, shipping both ways absorbed by Milwaukee (as it should be) and 2 week turnaround.
I always enjoy your polisher reviews, we have three puppy dogs, two of which came from our local shelter, they are my world and spoiled beyond belief lol, thanks Brian 👍😁
I have one and it has been a great polisher. I don’t do shop volume but I do a few cars every other weekend or so. No problems and it has always given me great results. I’ll have to change the grease out as yours sounds nicer that mine does and I have to attribute it to lubrication. Great video!
Uffff just in time , i just ordered it yesterday for 212$ , and yes i cant imagine not having my chloe ❤❤❤❤ shes an english bulldog 2 years old already
I've had the 15mm and 21mm Milwaukee polishers for about 3 years. I have used them extensively on my 35' center console boat. Never an issue with them. I highly recommend them. I've never torn into them or changed the grease. After watching this video, I will do that very soon. Went on Amazon and bought the Shaffer grease as well. Thanks for the tip Brian!
Thanks Brian for another great video! I have the M18 for a few months. Very powerful but does not vibrate much. Really love it! My only complaint is it is a bit noisy.
Mine is pretty loud at speed 3 with sympathetic vibrations but it smooths out for me at speed 4-5. It’s my first cordless da so I don’t have a lot to compare it too but my Hercules cordless rotary is much more enjoyable to use. That said you can’t knock it on performance. It doesn’t stall and I don’t find it vibrates any more than any other polisher I have used in the 15 or higher orbits. Changing the grease makes a huge improvement, that’s true for most da’s though. For the price point I can’t complain. Well worth it.
I have this polisher in a 15mm. They also make a 21mm. . I've also got their 12v da hand sander. Other then that I have 5 or 6 different Shinemates. All of them are great machines. I absolutely love both manufacturers. But every single one of them all use the crap grease and not enough. I to also use Schafers grease in mine. Probably because I use their oil as well in my vehicles. Great video, Brian. We have 3 dogs and a cat. Love them all like our kids.
That's the baby I wanted! Boss said no. Oh to be brushless and cordless someday. Still have my Milwaukee rotary (20 years now) Great machine; loud like a helicopter
I don’t have this polisher but it is a decent machine. I like that you take it apart and change the grease. It’s very important for the longevity of the machine. Thanks for the video Brian ✊👑
I’ve been on the hunt for a da I’ve tried Rupes ,Milwaukee Dewalt and spta but after using the Dewalt rotary for years the Dewalt da felt like a natural transition from what I was used to
You are so correct about pets. Loved mine to pieces. Unfortunately had to put my best friend down last year. Heartbreaking. Now.....the polisher. I have Milwaukee tools already, so this would be a good fit as far as batteries. The only concern for me is weight. 6 lbs!! Yikes! I am not the strongest person in the world, and anytime I can cut down on weight, I do it. The polishers i have now are corded and weigh about 5 lbs. That's heavy enough for me polishing for an extended period of time. Have you tried the new cordless Rupes yet? I heard it's lighter. I'm happy you reviewed this one because I really trust your opinion. You are right pretty much of the time. Give Sissy another treat and tell her it's from Kim. Lol.
Hey Brian, you'll definitely want to go with an XC 5.0ah minimum. Best bang for your buck would be the new forged 6.0ah with the supercharger, 80% in 15 minutes. The forged 6.0 similar if not better performance than the XC 8.0ah.
Looks like a solid polisher and perfect for a home polisher. The Dewalt is heavy and vibrates a lot but it will probably keep going and going. I am looking forward to see how the polished hold up in your shop. I do my Flex polishers from time to time but they keep working.
Has anyone figured out that growl or grinding sound right before the tool stops? I know the grease swap helps, but that's not a sound Milwaukee didn't know about and could have fix a while back.
I just purchased this M18 15mm polisher on Sunday because of your videos...crazy you are reviewing it today. I could not see your final speed setting when you were cutting the hood after the initial pass. Was that at max speed?
Id love to have a cordless polisher. I just cant justify spending what they cost when i would use it 2 maybe 3 times a year at most. Especially when my Griots polisher is still trucking. Maybe one day.
@ thanks! I’m an enthusiast who’s learned a great deal from your videos. Especially helpful has been your almost-casual attitude towards fluid selection, and a greater focus on pad selection and technique. Again, thanks.
A large enclosed trailer that is chalked up, hand the unit to a newbie to break in both. How well they can go the distance for long stretches' of time.
Not to get away from this product, but does anyone have any opinions/experience with the chemical guys polishers? They currently have 2 on sale. Chemical Guys TORQ22D Random Orbital Polisher w/ Red Backing Plate $79 Chemical Guys TORQ15DA 15mm Long-Throw Random Orbital Polisher $69 Hoping for some good advice/preferences. Just starting out with car detailing. Please & Thanks!! Much appreciated -KB
The noise alone is a hard No. Add in the vibration when using more than an hour at a time is not the best choice. If you polish alot invest and buy a rupes or flex. Quiet and the smoothest you'll find.
Sorry I bought this milwaukee recently and its horrible. Vibration will knock your hands off. Battery connection is super loose and no way to tighten it. Spend the Xtra money on a German or Italian machine
If you use this tool regularly...share your experience.
It is phenomenal. It's extremely powerful because it's brushless. And with a 6.0 high out put battery I can do a whole car.

I have two of these for my company. Used multiple times a week. Never have had a single problem.

Heavy spoiling is required.
I have the Milwaukee for I think 3 years now . Nothing comes close to this. It was a game changer for me. Love your videos and products

Picked one up last week to start polishing my cars and friends :)

Great machine; loud like a helicopter
A proper tool makes for a propwr detailing experience 👌🏻😎
I totally agree. 👍

At around 4.5lb...maybe look into ShineMate Cordless polishers.
great job

Absolutely....especially in a fast pace shop setting.
Looks like a solid polisher and perfect for a home polisher. The Dewalt is heavy and vibrates a lot but it will probably keep going and going.

Option from the Home Depot. I’m here for it!
Nice I love that polisher
Wonder how Red line grease would perform 🤔
Much better than what the factory uses.
Great video thanks for the great info!! Does the shop manager have a bed in the van to ride in? Hope you all are well!! Thanks!!
Yes....but always lays next to it....not on it. LOL
Please test the Makita battery operated polisher.
Has anyone figured out that growl or grinding sound right before the tool stops? I know the grease swap helps, but that's not a sound Milwaukee didn't know about and could have fix a while back.
I have it and I think it sucks. It stalls out on curbs and stops orbiting. I believe ryan should do a breakdown on the makita. That thing is a beast!
I just purchased this M18 15mm polisher on Sunday because of your videos...crazy you are reviewing it today. I could not see your final speed setting when you were cutting the hood after the initial pass. Was that at max speed?
I do not go higher than the 4th speed setting.
Id love to have a cordless polisher. I just cant justify spending what they cost when i would use it 2 maybe 3 times a year at most. Especially when my Griots polisher is still trucking. Maybe one day.
I love mine
Another excellent tutorial Brian , what was the app on your iPhone to measure noise? 🇬🇧
Yes....Not 100% accurate...but gives you a ballpark figure.
NLGI 1 or 2?
2....like peanut butter.
@ thanks! I’m an enthusiast who’s learned a great deal from your videos. Especially helpful has been your almost-casual attitude towards fluid selection, and a greater focus on pad selection and technique. Again, thanks.
I was looking at this tool. Just seemed a little bulky to me. Bought a flex instead
I love my flex polishers....only the rotary has failed me so far,
A large enclosed trailer that is chalked up, hand the unit to a newbie to break in both. How well they can go the distance for long stretches' of time.
You think for the price of the machine that the manufacturer would put quality grease in it.
That would be nice....yes.
Nice to learn about it
Humberto are you totally cordless?
@kimnewling5728 not yet, I will have my first battery one from DIY Detail

Yes. I have videos on them. The 22d is still operating. The 10fx has already died.
@@apexdetail85 I'll check out the details. How long did/have you had them??
The noise alone is a hard No. Add in the vibration when using more than an hour at a time is not the best choice. If you polish alot invest and buy a rupes or flex. Quiet and the smoothest you'll find.
ShineMate is decent. All of mine are still going strong.
