V-bar battle! (Shrewd, Axcel, Doinker) Triple Trouble Archery

- In this video, we explain the differences in v-bars, by highlighting some of the features of the Shrewd, Doinker and Axcel adjustable mounts. For this video we used a Shrewd Atlas, a Doinker Mighty Mount and an Axcel Tri-lock. They are all linked below.
I don’t necessarily feel a difference in stiffness between the three but they have some quirks that I talked about in the video.

Finally! A top archer give me reason!! When I try to explain to everyone why I have the left stabilizer slightly open in relation to the right one, everybody made fun of me. TKS! You are the best!

I also upgraded from a fixed angled little Vbar to the Shrewd Atlas. Together with the shrewd stabilizer. With that one and as you said the fir it very nice. And agree, the flexibility of the quick connect screws on the stabi rods is a bit disturbing but only at the begin of a session. Once connected it still does it job well. Also using the shrewd extender which has some little plate to always align with the vbar. That is what I really like as once Setup and aligned it is the same for each session. No more (or much less) misalignment after multiple shots as I had with the simple single vbar. Thanks for the comparison.

Thanks for the great review and all the other great content! As far as the issue with the Atlas bolts I have found somewhat of a fix. String wax on the rod threads. Hoping that helps Liam and the other Atlas owners that are frustrated with the free spinning bolts.
The Axcel looks great, good luck with it this season! Funny also, the Shrewd connects just like clipons connect to a frontfork on a motorcycle.

@@riowang289 its a very good mount, I did end up getting some custom 3d printing washers to help my rods fit better.
I switched from a w&w CX-AD to the Axcel TriLock. My only complain about the TriLock so far are the marking for vertical adjustment: the graduation is on top of the part that mounts to the riser while the indicator (the small white line) is located beside the teeth, which is around 90° off. I think I saw that the graduation on the single vbar for compound is where the indicator is, I wonder why they didn't do this for the double sided vbar, too.
Have you tried the AAE Gripper QD vbar? Interested to see how it compares to the newer stuff.

many thanks for this very good comparison. I shot the older version of the shrewd v-bar. And the only thing that I could complain about is, that the center-hole is not centered! Therefor the values of the scales are different if the bars are mounted the same way.
Did you check the different v-bars for that?
But there is anti walkout washer at shrewd atlas v bar, did u didnt get it?

my old cheap stabilizer is no more straight, so I have to buy a new one.
What do you think about the carbon changeable v-bar from wiawis?
And I think to buy the new stabilizer from shrewd, RevX for a recurve.
Which one do you use?

I've used the carbon Win & Win v-bar for nearly two years and it's rock solid
To be honest: I've been shooting an adjustable V-bar for ... well... forever i think, but i have never even thought about the points you brought up. I just tightened the screws, and never cared about the anodizing coming off of my stupidly-cheap WNS-carbon-stabilizers. So there might be better ways i guess. :)
But shouldn't this show "commercial" somewhere? I have received your scope just saturday, and read "Sjef" below "AXCEL" with you picture on it.... some people might get ideas!

When you advertise a brand or a product, you have to put the commercial mention at the beginning of the video. However, Sjef is making a comparison, meaning he isn't promoting one product over others (if I recall correctly, he hasn't chosed a brand for stabilizers to shoot for this season). Just so you know 😉

Very good and honest v-bars review. What is your opinion about AAE Gripper Double? Many thaks again.
I own all the v-bars in the video + the AAE that you asked about.
The AAE is a solid mount but it has 2 downsides:
1. It's a bit heavier than the other v-bars mentioned.
2. The quick disconnect tends to walk out (they don't have a solution for that like on the Axcel and the Shrewd)
If you don't care about an extra ounce or two, the version without a quick disconnect is hard to beat.

I use an eye bolt as extender, only 1 inch
I want to try this is it from B-STINGER or another brand
