Dennis is a virtuoso drummer, but so is Terry Bozzio!!! Let's face it you don't play with Frank Zappa if your a musical slouch. Check Terry out playing Black Napkins with Zappa, it will blow your mind!!! Terry is a classically trained percussionist with chops galore. Ostinato anyone?

I've seen Dennis play live several times over the years and this is the first time I've seen him not quite sure what to do, haha. So many things to hit!
I was just thinking that! It's like being a master of every tool you have in your shop, but then you go to some legendary hardware store that's been manned by the same employee for decades and you have no clue where anything is or where to begin, lol. I'm sure Dennis would have some unique interpretations and do some amazing things with a kit like this if he spent enough time with it!

This is the best description I've ever seen regarding Bozzio's kit!
If Jack Arnold was still alive, he could make a movie about a „ mad drummer“ whose kit grows under nuclear influence , leaves the subterranean lab and threatens to destroy a major city. The national guard can not stop it , the cymbals that big reflect air to ground missiles that turn against the airforce planes. The POTUS calls Terry Bozzio for help. Then Terry would show up, carry away a cute young female drum lab assistant that twisted her ankle while running away. He is the only one that can stop the monster with the help of….. a standard tuning key by removing the reso head of the largest kick drum. ( my copyright protected)
This is funny. I remember Bozzio saying back in the ‘80s that using the high-hat was outdated. Boy, did he take that to heart!

I was in a band that opened up for Jeff Beck w/ Bozzio and during his show I got to sit about 10 feet behind Bozzio while he played. Quite the education!!!!
I remember seeing Jeff Beck with Terry Bozzio playing drums my first impression of his drum solo was this guy is a complete animal 😂

This is hilarious! Dennis is THE man!; loved his stuff for decades. But even he is blown away with this kit! And that's what makes it fun....a MASTER of his craft, still
impressed with another master's tools. Rumor has it that Terry's drum tech has to start two weeks in advance just to set up his kit.
He's still learning and enjoying it. This for me is the essence of life and how everyone should try and live. Great video.

Saw Terry give a clinic in Boston probably 1996 he wasnt at this extent yet but was pretty close. Ive never seen anything like it since, he used the entire kit. Nice seeing another LEGEND take a shot at it!

Dennis used DW pedals for a long time.
Just because it feels good, doesn't mean that the Pearl pedals are any less. I used to play Ludwig pedals (for authenticity's sake) then DW pedals; now I'm on Pearl pedals on a Ludwig kit.
Very kool! I love seeing drummers trying other kits. Especially this one. I believe I heard Neil Peart say he played it, before one of the drum chats.

I've seen a lot of videos of people attempting to play Terry's kit...this is the first one where someone SUCCESSFULLY played like Terry. It's almost as if the kit has a life of its own and demands a style out of the artist. Bravo Dennis!
