Douglas Rye as Dracula is always fucking epic!! And he was Cao Cao from Dynasty Warriors.
Of all the English voices Dracula had throughout the series, Douglas Rye was the one who most embody him as a Maō, it was perfect.
Indeed. Patrick Seitz is a close second, but Rye is simply spot on. He should voice Dracula again.

I can't argue with that, considering that there was never a time where I cringed at the dialogue in the games.
I don't mind swearing, but some of the dialogue in the show can be reduced to swearing = funny

Mathias got some nerve talking about betrayal when he betrayed his old pal Leon years ago.
Well, that's the thing about Mathias/Dracula. He's a complete fiend at worst and a hypocrite at best. Technically Lisa's death also was his fault as the witch trials were orchestrated by the vampires to drive out sorcerers like Sypha Belnades, as they were a threat/annoyance to them. And Lisa merely fell victim to these trials. Either it was godly retribution or an unlucky turn of Fate, Dracula lets his rage and frustrations out on innocents. He has to be stopped. Doesn't matter what came before it was him who declared war on humanity.
Netflixvania Dracula on the other hand: "...ngh I am a misunderstood villain, my wife died because human's. I'm sad and suicidal. Feel sympathy for me 😭."

Everyone had there moment in the show. Even Hector setting up the trap.
Isaac was only allowed to be badass because he got race swapped and had his characterisation ripped to shreds. It’s a shame. The entire Carmella/Hector/Isaac plot line ended up as nothing.

@@Inferno65 Yes, this legendary series with its paper-thin characterizations and, during this time period, indulgences on cheap anime cliches and tropes while trying and failing at chasing Devil May Cry's clout. Curse of Darkness was far from a high point in the series, especially when it's strayed so far from the series' roots

This is how both Dracula and Hector should have been in the show. It's such a shame that Warren Ellis rips off Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula and calls it a day and turns Hector into a simp puppy. So unimaginative and boring. I highly doubt Nocturne gets better.

Well the Castlevania games did incorporate aspects of Francis Ford Cappolla’s Dracula, but they didn’t forget to make Dracula a form of ultimate evil regardless. The problem with Nocturne is that it needs plenty of retcons from the original show to make sense. I mean they already have a dumb idea to make Lisa alive again just to kill her again.
It won't get better in Nocturne. The seasons have been mostly awful. Outrage-marketed garbage far removed from source material. It had some sparks of light, like the Belmont Library. But mostly simply awful. Some of it is just character-assassination.
I expect them to soil Richter as well.
@@Aivottaja Oh, I’m pretty sure that they will make Maria insufferable and grumpy too. I mean her whole childlike and relatively lighthearted nature you see in Rondo of Blood and still to an extent in Symphony of the Night is what makes her Maria and not some imitation of Sonia Belmont

@@Inferno65 There's nothing to refute, it is what it is. Dracula during this time was simply nothing than the big bad you had to defeat. There was no nuance or layers to the character. In this game, he doesn't even appear until right here as the final boss as the main antagonists were Zed and Isaac
