    Yes, I shop from and love Divinity Fibres & Silk Divine 🥰🙂 this is so great that you paired with each other for this video. I've been wanting to make one of these pillows so I am very grateful for this tutorial. Love your TH-cam channel Jenel! You are so talented and explain everything very well.

    So beautiful! A walking foot is a HUGE help when trying to sew thick stuff like that sumac stitch or multiple layers.

    This is beautiful. I'm gonna try it. But I think I'll use the canvas for both front and back by making the weaving slightly smaller

    Can we get more info on how you sewed this? There aren’t many videos on sewing thick weaving so knowing your process would be helpful. What type of tension, stitch length, stitch type did you use? Did you need to use heavy duty thread or all purpose? Did you need a heavier jeans needle or regular? Thanks for your help :-)

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, I would recommend not doing soumak stitch with roving- this took a long time to sew and was tricky to sew. I didn't change the tension on my machine and just used a straight stitch and a length setting of 3. I just used regular sewing thread.

    • @HouseofSundari
      @HouseofSundari 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spruceandlinen Ok! Thank you for responding. This is helpful. I just made a panel for a pillow and was nervous about the thread and tension.

    Did you sew this on your sewing machine or hand stitch it together?

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sewing machine! It was definitely a bit of a battle though, if I made this pillow again I wouldn't do the soumak, it's just so thick and hard to sew.

      The cotton canvas I've had for years, I just picked it up from Fabricland (I'm in western Canada) I think, same with the zipper.

    I would had loved if you share the important part: sewing de waved.

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean sewing over the soumak stitch?

    • @VitoMilicich
      @VitoMilicich 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spruce & Linen sewing the fabric with the weaving. Because for me that’s the tricky part. Either way , thank you for sharing.

    • @spruceandlinen
      @spruceandlinen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VitoMilicich ya it simply is just tricky. It's the same as sewing fabric to fabric, but you just have to go really slow, squish it down the best you can, and hopefully your sewing machine can get through the thickness of it. I would choose not to do the soumak stitch next time because it was really tough to sew through that part.
