That is because religion has instilled fear in its followers to keep a tight leash on its followers. I am a psychiatric nurse and it is classic mind manipulation.
I don’t know why. But I’m not scared of my own death but for the death of my loved ones, as a catholic I believe there is an after life. But still seeing my parents getting old make me so sad and angry. I need to God to help me through this
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “”People should not fear God, thinking he is always ready to punish, but rather they should love him because he is always ready to forgive. God is not a relentless sovereign who condemns the guilty, but a loving father whom we must love not out of fear of punishment, but because of his goodness. The Lord is a God who is just, but always ready to reveal himself as merciful and compassionate.”
Thank you Father. I need help often and always to restore my faith in Jesus. God bless you for the work that you do and for helping to bring the peace of the lord to sinners like me.
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “The phrase “fear of the Lord” should be understood in terms of awe, rather than dread. In contemplation of the Almighty, the Christian does not experience servile fear, but a sincere and serious respect that prompts genuine and active adherence.”
Get away from Christianity like I did and embrace being part of the natural world and the fear of death goes with it. There is no life after death as we know it, and that is ok.
@KnightOfColumbus2000 in a way yes it is. Christianity has managed to pervert all aspects of reality most notably nature. Things come into existence and die. Through death, there is life. Not in the illogical perspective of religion, but based on particle physics. The sun, the planets, and everything that exists on each is recycled from the quantum particles of the previous star before our sun. That is a universal truth. Christianity is based on personal truths. I invite you to look into the difference between a personal truth and universal truth. It is in universal truth, that you will find reality and the beauty of death.
@KnightOfColumbus2000 perhaps I'm here to direct my fellow humans into learning about reality. To look into quantum physics and the laws of nature to get an accurate sense of reality. The religious perspective has only taken us further away from our true reality in the universe.
@buddahdakillaman the catholic church has founded multiple projects devoted to science, the creator of the big-bang theory was a catholic priest. It isn't science vs religion, but scientism vs religion. God is the who, and science is the how. The two concepts don't need to be seperate
@patricia6081 OK you say God is the "who." And you say that confidently. If that is scientific "fact", explain that in a scientific manner that reflects the physical laws of the universe. This is where religion has been stagnant in advancing the theory of god/gods. Explain the physics of god using facts and not superstitious verbiage. And what evidence do you have to support your theory?
@buddahdakillaman you do realize that God isn't a physical being, right? If he is the one who created space and time, he isn't going to be bound by their rules. You should also understand that miracles happen as opposed to the "physical laws of the universe", that's what makes them miracles. Jesus was a real historical being that did walk the earth. Atheists and Christians agree that he was a religious teacher regardless of his Godly status. It's also historical fact that he was crucified by roman officials. What's interesting though is that it's been 2000 years and we still haven't found his body. What's also interesting is that 2000 years later and Christianity is the biggest belief system in the world. Don't you think that the Roman government would do everything in their power to debunk the story of jesus' resurrection? They had just crucified him because he posed a major threat to their religious influence. Jesus was claimed to be with his people for 40 days after he rose from the dead, where was the pushback? Unless the Roman empire was simply that oblivious that this rumor was going around, something had to be preventing them from denying the story. But we have the Roman Catholic church now. And this church traces all the way back to that time period where Jesus appointed Peter as the first pope of his new church (Matthew 18:16). Can you explain that? Events that science cannot explain happen all the time. An example of this is eucharistic miracles. If you didn't know, the eucharistic host is the bread and wine that is given out at catholic masses. In the bible, Jesus teaches that the bread is his flesh and the wine is his blood, and that whosoever eats and drinks of him has eternal life. There have been multiple accounts of this eucharist impossibly transforming into human tissue or dripping blood. One sample didn't decompose for 3 years, only being preserved in holy water. What's more is that this blood has been tested, and the blood type has always come back as AB, which is the same blood type as found on the shroud of truin (the cloth with Jesus' imprint on it)
Thank you so much... my fear and anxiety of death started disturbing my daily activities. This gave me a little light... so thank you
I needed this , my anxiety is getting too much
